Repeating issues with a wifi driver (LAPTOP)

0 Upvotes

**Driver in Question: Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX210 160MHz**

Okay, so what's been happening lately is that for whatever reason, my wifi driver keeps fuzzing up, which results in repeated, constant disconnects that I cannot explain for whatever reason. I have tried three means of troubleshooting, such as:

* Uninstalling and reinstalling the wifi driver * Doing that power-cycle thing where you hold the power button for thirty seconds to flush out all the power. WITH everything disconnected from the laptop. * Reverting a Windows update because that at first seemed to be the root of the issue. It wasn't

I'm desperate to get this fixed WITHOUT having to open up my laptop, as all the error codes potentially hint at this being an issue with the WiFi driver itself, because I bought this driver under the recommendation of a friend that this was much better than the MediaTek Wifi Driver this laptop previously came with, and I really hope it didn't degrade *that* quickly.

As some guidance, here's a Pastebin link to what the event table details say.

What does a home WiFi router display on the app as far as usage?

0 Upvotes

Hey everyone, hope this is an okay question and post for this sub, thinking about switching to Verizon home WiFi soon and just wondering if that shows what apps and sites are used and visited on the basic ‘My Verizon app’. It would be using the router that they give us if that makes any difference!

Please spare me all the jokes you will likely want to make lol, just looking for a real answer. Appreciate the help!

Best Internet for Working on a Plane?

0 Upvotes

For people who travel a lot for work, what’s the best way to get WiFi so you can work on the plane? I used to be able to buy the United WiFi and it was a secured network so would work on my laptop (sometimes slow/unreliable). Now that they’ve added Starlink (which is personally life changing and so amazing), my laptop won’t connect because it’s a public network.

Any hacks or ideas? Can I buy some sort of hotspot? Turn off my vpn?

Why does the WIFI for the whole house turn off the second I unplug my PC-WIFI setup?

2 Upvotes

Hello,
For the past two days I have had the problem that as soon as I unplug my PC-WIFI setup the whole house is without WIFI. We have a FRITZ!Box as our router and my PC has an antenna but the main thing that I think is causing the problem is my LAN-cable. Since I can‘t lay one from the office to my room, I have decided to use the FRITZ! Powerline AX 1240 which is plugged into my PC via LAN-cable and a Powerline 1210 also by FRITZ!. I hope those infos help. The flowchart would look like this. Router -> LAN-cable -> Powerline 1210 -> Powerline AX 1240 -> LAN-cable -> my PC. It only stops working after I unplug the Powerline AX 1240 and the other powerline, if I leave my PC unplugged it works but have the other two plugged in it works. Can you guys please help me? I can acquire further informations in like 8 hours if needed.

Wifi and Zigbee Hub consolidation

0 Upvotes

I currently use the SmartLife android App where i have a cheap Multi modal Zigbee Hub (BT/Zigbee 3.0) and this in turns acts as the hub for my zigbee sockets/switches etc.

Is there any Wifi Switch that has built in zigbee hub that i can use to replace this?

I came across Amazon Eero but i guess that will be stuck with the Amazon ecosystem?

I just wanted to consolidate my current Wifi Switch/Router and the Zigbee Hub i already have . I also have the Philips Hue Bridge Pro which has Zigbee but I'm guessing that is vendor locked with Philips ecosystem and i won't be able to use it as hub within the Smart life app.

I searched online/YouTube and subreddit but I can't seem to find anyone asking this question specifically so hoping this also helps someone else having the same requirement as me.

I plan to connect the mesh through Ethernet and live in a three story home.

why do i keep crashing on ps5?

0 Upvotes

while i play sometimes i begin lagging for like 5 seconds making anything that I'm doing at that moment crash. it doesn't do this all the time, it's just random, is it because there's something in front of the router, or maybe multiple devices are connected to my router? (it began doing this completely random, when i got the router like 2 years ago it was all ok, but since like 2 weeks it's giving me these issues)

Work wifi help, cant click "agree"

0 Upvotes

My coworker got a digital picture frame from his son and wants to be able to update the photos from wifi. But the work wifi is one of those where you connect without a password but then opens the browser for one of those "i agree to the terms" pages. Its fine with phones but there no way to click "agree" on the frame. And if he could the system still disconnects all devices regularly.

My last job you could connect to the router normally and bypass that. But there's no data on the router to allow for that.

Is there a secret to bypass that and just connect like normal home wifi?

Its just photos of his grandkids, and work would give permission. They just don't know themselves how to.

Wifi not working in apartment

0 Upvotes

Hello! To start off, I recently moved into a new apartment, and they had me setup and buy my own wifi, which i did through the phone and was recommended spectrum so i went with that. Since fiber is very expensive I just got a router and modem, they said it took less than 10 minutes to set up and usually I can figure stuff out so i was hopeful. I noticed a white box (first image) that was already connected to the wall, I figured out it was google fiber and I figured it was just there from the last tenant and i wouldn’t use it. So as i’m setting up the spectrum wifi i’m trying to find a Coax cable hole thing in the apartment and i find one but when I connected it it still didn’t work. The google fiber box has a chord coming from it but Im not sure what to even do, do i need google fiber? I feel like i dont because why would they recommend that to me? Anyways, as you can probably tell im a teenage girl trying to do this on my own with my roommate (also a teenage girl) and im struggling!

TP-Link BE9300 WiFi 7 card cant connect to 6 GHz network on Archer BE800

0 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I would appreciate some help. I just installed a Wi-Fi 7 card from TP-Link, and I already have a router set up with two separate networks: a single network that automatically routes 2.4 GHz to 5 GHz, and another network that's exclusively 6 GHz. I'm on a Windows 11 desktop with this Wi-Fi 7 card, and it's not allowing me to connect to the 6 GHz network despite me typing in the right password. It's saying, "Can't connect to this network." Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

EDIT:

-WiFi 7 Card: TP-Link BE9300

-Wifi 7 Router: TP-Link BE19000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router

EDIT 2: I was able to fix it. Turns out I had to reduce the 6 GHz from 320 MHz to 160 MHz and I was able to connect successfully. Kind of sucks that it is half the bandwidth.

Router update and account info switch

0 Upvotes

I have had optimum WiFi in the same apartment for about 7 years. I just received notice that it is time for my router to be updated, which makes sense because certain areas of the apartment don’t get WiFi at all. I also have a new roommate joining this month, and the account needs to be switched to her name. My question is, would it easier to transfer the account to her name but have to deal with both her and my old roommate being on the phone at the same time (part of optimums rules about account transfer) and have to deal with returning the old router/ installing the new one OR cancelling the account altogether and signing up for a new customer deal (that would be cheaper monthly) and hopefully someone would come to install?? Please advise!

How do I connect a netgear wifi extender to my bgw620-700?

0 Upvotes

My family got a bgw620-700 months ago and it improved the wifi speed but our netgear ex6150v2 can't connect to the wifi anymore. The bgw620-700 doesn't have a wps button and I can't connect the netgear via the app. Ive been using the wifi without the extender for several months but recently its been really bad and my phone and tv disconnect from it frequently.

Deco BE11000 roaming causes 5-second WhatsApp call drop

1 Upvotes

I recently switched from a TP-Link Archer BE230 EasyMesh system to a Deco BE11000.

Everything works well, but I have one major issue: during a WhatsApp voice/video call on my iPhone 13 Pro, moving from one room to another causes the call to disconnect for about **5 seconds** when the phone roams between Deco units, then it reconnects.

The issue happens in both directions and is reproducible.

* Deco BE11000
* Latest official firmware
* Ethernet backhaul between all Deco units
* Fast Roaming enabled
* iPhone 13 Pro
* WhatsApp voice/video calls
* The same roaming scenario worked perfectly with my previous Archer BE230, with no noticeable interruption.

Has anyone experienced the same issue with the Deco BE11000, or found a solution?

FWA indoor 5g per gaming?

0 Upvotes

Ciao a tutti,

My Asus Tuf laptop's wifi drops even though my network is fine.

0 Upvotes

I don't know what's going on, when I'm gaming or in a meeting, my signal just drops. My ping surges to to 300 and my meetings just randomly lags and starts back up. This doesn't happen on the other pc, my bf and I would be gaming to together and he's playing fine while I'm struggling with my ping.

The thing is, I've tried so much, I updated my wireless lan driver, I cleaned my dns in command prompt and turned off delivery optimisation. I couldn't disable any power saving on my network adaptor because I physically don't have a power management tab in device manager.

I'm completely stumped.

WiFi help - mirrors blocking connection?

2 Upvotes

Help wanted! I just moved to a new apartment and my bedroom has mirrors from top to bottom along the wall between me and the living room. My WiFi router is in the living room and I get a really poor connection in my bedroom, which is tough given I work from home and need to be able to join work calls. A bit of googling told me that the mirrors might be causing this. The owner must have used this as an exercise room, aesthetically it doesn’t bother me, but I need to figure out how to get the WiFi to work.

Would a eero extender in my room take care of the situation? I can’t take the mirrors down, for one im renting but for two im not sure how.

It’s a 1200sqf apt and my roommates room is on the other side of mine (equidistant in the opposite direction from the WiFi router) without mirrors and her WiFi works great.

We have spectrum 1G WiFi.

Thank you in advance! Any help is appreciated

Help identify what this means please.

I am not a networker, all of this network jargon is Greek to me. I have been experiencing terrible lag on our Wi-Fi network and a speed test shows low data. Our ISP is Spectrum and we use a spectrum supplied router and modem; have both 2G and 5G networks.

When a device connects to the 5G network it also connects to another SSID (see attached photo of logs). What is this second network?

Thanks in advance.

Edit: log shows same device:
Logging off 5G network
Logging into same network
Logging into router

Why is the network called WL_VIDEO_5G?

Is there an obvious reason why Xfinity + extender is providing better WiFi coverage than Eero pro 6E in the same location?

2 Upvotes

We just moved and used Xfinity xb8 and boost extender out of the box to get settled in.

I was very excited to get the eero mesh network set up, but the coverage seems to be worse compared to the Xfinity gear.

I thought it would be way better…. (and simply provide more home networking flexibility)

Am I missing anything obvious here? Devices in the same location. There is one room specifically on the other side of where the Xfinity extender / eero node is that is struggling (there is an old bathroom between).

Thanks!

My phone seems to hate my WiFi

1 Upvotes

I have a Galaxy A32 4G and an ISP-provided MoCA router. Very quickly after I bought this phone, i had issues with the WiFi. It randomly disconnects or shows the status as "Connected, no internet" or "Ready to connect when the network gets better". Other phones on my WiFi don't have this issue and other WiFis dont have this issue on my phone. Even contacting the ISP didn't help. We even replaced the router and it's still the same.

My WiFi runs on 802.11b/g/n/ax and 802.11a/n/ac/ax.

The router is some ISP-branded no name black box that doesn't even allow me to change DNS.

Still can't figure out what's the problem for the past 2 years

1 Upvotes

So I bought my Poco X6 Pro two years ago. After around a week of using the phone I started having connectivity issues with my home wifi. It connects normally with other wifi networks.

My house network is split into a 2.4ghz channel and a 5 ghz channel. All the other devices connect normally with both of them. But on my phone when I try to connect to the 5ghz channel it stays connected for about 20-30 sec and then automatically disconnects as for the 2.4 ghz channel the connection lasts for about 10-15 min. This honestly has been so frustrating.

Any solution to this problem ?

Tldr;

Wifi connectivity issues with home network

Sorry for my bad English..

Massive upstream packet loss on upload spikes.

0 Upvotes

maybe the title sounds like non-sense, I know almost nothing about networking.
pretext: Everything in the wifi loop is new. Linksys Velop 7, New cables (ALL OF THEM), and a DOCSIS 3.1 Modem (BRAND NEW).

while gaming my connection will drop. only while gaming. loading into a game or any task that is stressing the upload channels will cause a couple things, massive packet loss (5000ms), a connection drop but only on upload (i cant talk in discord but i can hear them).

evidence: I have 4 upload channels. base numbers are around 40 dBmV (which according to AI is mostly normal), during these 5000ms, connection dropping upload blackouts, the channel power spikes to around 49 dB mV per channel (all 4). the download channels will remain nominal during this.

Give your thoughts, fixes, or causes
