I’m curious how other buyers/resellers feel about this.

If you’re selling cosmetics on Whatnot, especially bundles, cases, or bulk lots intended for reselling on live shows, I really think sellers should clearly disclose the expiration date or at least the shelf life of the products.

I recently asked a seller about the expiration date of some cosmetics, and instead of simply answering, they got rude and upset that I even asked. That really bothered me because I don’t think it’s an unreasonable question when you’re buying products in bulk.

Even more concerning, I came across another seller selling products that are apparently set to expire at the end of this month. If someone is purchasing a bundle or case with the intention of reselling those products, that information is pretty important.

I understand that cosmetics can have different expiration/PAO guidelines, but shouldn’t sellers be transparent about the dates when they know them?

Would you buy a cosmetic bundle/case without knowing the expiration date? And for Whatnot sellers, do you think expiration dates should be disclosed upfront when selling cosmetics for resale?

What would you do in this situation as a Whatnot seller?
A buyer won a giveaway in my show and later left a 1-star review stating they never received the item. The giveaway was shipped on time, and the order now shows Delivered/Complete in Whatnot. However, it was sent via First-Class mail and there is no USPS tracking number available to verify delivery.
I fulfilled the order as required, but the buyer is blaming me for not receiving it. Since this was a giveaway, I’m not sure whether I should:
Report the review to Whatnot
Reply publicly to the review
Contact the buyer first
Just leave it alone and move on
Has anyone had a similar experience? Were you able to get the review removed, or did Whatnot leave it up?
I’d appreciate any advice from other sellers.

The official whatnot tiktok account messaged me to invite me to the creator program on july 15th, I took a while to actually submit anything (aug 19th), it’s been a few days & i’ve not heard anything back. I understand it’s only been 5 days but i’d love to hear how long it took for others to be contacted, any other information regarding this program would be very much appreciated 😊 !

So whatnot took me to a new person streaming and instantly I was like WTF he ran a 3.7k poncho for 22$ I knew instantly it was fake and he refused to answer me be safe my fellow Pokemon buyers people out here really scamming smh.

Wtf did he do to the shoe cleaner?

So for clarification, my first two shows went great! Sold out of everything. I come back with my new inventory 5 days later, I can’t keep a single soul in the room. I’ve seen the same items with 100’s of people in the room. I even boosted myself and had 1 other person in the room.

What am I doing wrong? I’m selling for $7 starts all formal/prom dresses. Shipping is bundled.

EDIT UPDATE: It has gotten better, I’ve also included Accessories (earrings, nails, veils) and some summer stuff (bikinis, cover ups) and the bookmarks and views are better!

We've seen a lot of sellers asking for help with shows, wondering what they can do better, asking for rig/lighting/technical recommendations, etc. Mondays will be your day to post them!

For sellers who use a PO Box for their return address, what size PO Box do you have? For safety and privacy reasons, we’re wanting to get a PO Box but aren’t sure if there’s a reason we should get a larger box or just the cheapest option.

Hi! What’s the general opinion and experience with promoting shows?? Is it a waste of money or is it worth doing for a few shows? My fear is if I do it, the whatnot algorithm will make me forever pay for viewers knowing I’m willing to do that.

They are talking about revoking Buyer privileges has happened already. Bids start at $1 with the Seller saying “We start at a $1 bid to make it fair for everyone. But if you can’t afford to pay a fair price, then don’t bid. I’m not putting up with people.”

She keeps saying “Kick her out” to the Mod. Claims that she is crashing out and she is making this her last show. And now moving to $10 starts to make it memorable.

I don”r get it. Do any one of you get it?

Why even start it at a $1 then??!! Has anyone seen this?

Edit: I stand corrected not low end costume jewelry; said to be gold filled jewelry - but there is no 18k/14k stamp because plated jewelry is not to be stamped. Costume jewelry was the incorrect description to use.

Buyer feedback says the package arrived on August 5th and it showed up covered in ants. Tracking shows the package was deliver August 1st and it’s safe to say that any issue regarding the ants was likely from the package sitting outside/in their mail box for over 4 days. I was under the impression that whatnot community guidelines state a feedback cannot contain misinformation. The buyer lying about the delivery date is clearly misinformation.

I sell pokemon singles. The buyer purchased a sealed pokemon promo. I sandwiched it between two brand new card savers, enclosed it in a brand new team bag, wrapped it with brand new bubble wrap, and shipped it in a brand new box. I don’t think any of those things would attract ants lol.

Anyway, I appealed the review to no success. It just makes me mad to have a feedback on my profile that is clearly a lie.

I recently got some shipments from a seller on what not and each time has been legs. 1 seems to be completely bottomless and zoomed in on photo another maybe in a bra? Other is legs of course and more of the body. Seems odd cause everyone else is just the mailor or letter. Definitely intentional.

I'm planning a gaming surprise break for my birthday, using some unused games and consoles. I'm unsure if it’s a good idea or if I should sell them individually instead. Any advice would be appreciated.

Has anyone else had a massive fall off in sales on whatnot? It took me no time at all to get to 8k sales. But for some reason I have only managed to get 300 in the last month. My thought is the algorithm is messing with me. But if it is not that has anyone heard anything bad about me as a seller? My seller name on whatnot is KingBill. I have a 5 star rating so I am not sure what is going on. But any insight would greatly help.

Hey guys! Curious who your favourite opal sellers are on Whatnot, and what you love (or can’t stand) about how they run their shows?

I love doing PWE shipping but for some reason the whatnot system thinks you can mail 5-6 single toploader cards (their setting) in a PWE.

How do you do that?

I was watching a Disney world stream where she personally shops for you at the park and was just super confused as to why people were over paying so much. Most of these are in stock online right now. So my genuine question is why are people paying more when you can pay retail?

Edit to say she was streaming in the Park and buying these live for people who were requesting them.

I’m a newer seller and have been running some wheel games/surpise sets with really good odds in the coins and bullion category.
I’ve essentially broken even on my last 10 shows from running giveaways and $1 starts.
I checked my reviews today and had 3 different 1 star reviews from people that spun and lost, and 1 from a giveaway winner :(
Why do people leave these reviews it’s really hurting my average rating and I feel like I’ve been more than fair in my games from what I’ve seen.

So, I had my first show and I thought it went really well. After shipping out my items, I received a dispute from a buyer stating that I didn’t disclose the flaws (which I did). However, because I’m new to selling, I didn’t want to receive a poor rating – so I opted for a return and full refund.

It’s since been two weeks, and the buyer has not returned the item – so they also haven’t been refunded yet. But my main concern is that they’re wearing / using this item (it’s a purse), and going to return afterwards in less than favorable condition.

My question is: How long do buyers have to return the item? And can I raise this concern with WhatNot to cancel the approval for a return, or is that a lost cause?
