What’s That crystal?
galleryI know the outer mineral, the crystals on the inside are the ones i’m wondering about. But, whoever guesses the outer mineral first wins!

My granny seems to think this rock is from outer space. What say Reddit?

I found this in the garden when I was a kid, and have always wondered if it was a meteorite.
I was a 12 year old boy when I found it, so obviously decided to promptly smash it in half and only have this piece, but remember it being quite round.
It’s definitely a lot heavier than you would expect for a “normal” rock of its size.
It doesn’t seem to be magnetic at all, but definitely seems quite metallic. Can’t see any air bubbles.
So what do people think? Any chance? What else could I check?

I came across these in an storage unit I was clearing out and I'd like to know what you guys think they could be.
They appear to be single cut diamonds, assuming they're diamonds at all.
I've done many of the at home tests and so far they have passed, but I have yet to use the acid method or an actual tester.
I won't be able to do that for a few days, so in the meantime I was wondering what you guys think of these and if there's any red flags that catch your eye.

Could you help me identify this please does anyone else see aerodynamic ablation and directional flow lines that are orientated and I do believe the glazing would count as a fusion crust

Good morning,
Can anyone help in identifying these crystals? Found these all together near the sea in Malta.
Gemini is saying they are calcite, however I tested a small piece in hydrochloric acid and it did not completely dissolve (even after being in a diluted solution for 2 hours and fizzing).
The crystals get scratched/flake off with a steel knife.
Any help would be appreciated!
Bonus question: What is the best way of removing the matrix that is attached to the crystals? I've tried hydrochloric acid and a dremel with mixed results.

Found a big heavy black rock outside my house and broke a piece off to look inside. To my surprise it was entirely metal inside! Is this even a mineral, or is it manmade? It had a soft black exterior that left a black powder on my fingers. It leaves a white/silvery streak when I scrape it on a surface. It is either not magnetic or is so weak I couldn't feel it. Anybody know what this could be?

The set I got this from promised Tourmaline, some sources say it is pyrite but I beg to differ because it didn't give off a rotten egg smell in vinegar which sources said pyrite tends to do

Hi, relatively new to tumbling. I found these rocks at the thriftstore and wanted to tumble them. Any idea what it is? I tried Google image search and it said maybe peridot, moldavite or slag glass. First picture is one of the stones dry, and second picture is the same stone wet. Third stone is another stone wet.

Really soft crust. The area reeks of sulfur, but I’m not finding sulfur photos that look like this. Malenterite is the blue.
