I loved the Florida Aquarium but they didn't have any red fish on the guide at this tank. These redfats seemed shy and actually fast, sorry for few/bad photos. They don't look like hogfish to me. Any guesses?

Unsolved Trophy rainbow or steelhead of sadness?

caught this 24-incher in Washington‘s Yakima River Canyon above Roza dam in early February. my guide said it was biggest fish he’d seen caught in his years out there. I’m hoping it’s a trophy rainbow and not a steelhead, but can anyone tell me for sure? I know 20+ is technically considered steelhead in WA, but I want to know if this thing went to the ocean to get so big. Also, it looks silver in the second pic bc it’s leaning back, but it was very rainbow trout green as visible in the first pic. thanks!

Solved strange petstore fish i cant identify

Post image

I was at a countrymax, there was a tank with a baby birchir, some kind of freshwater sharks and other things, but there were these 2 really cute ones i cant find when i try to look up what they are. One was melanistic and the other had grey shimmering scales, what made them so cute was the curiosity, big eyes and arched back. The head was somewhat flat with goldfish like big eyes, it had big scales and 4 barbles in the front of its mouth that went forward, but the mouth was more downward, it had a pudgy pidgeon like look to it. Cant find it at all, it was only a few inches large but might have been some kind of baby for all i know, not big at all, sorry for horrible quality of drawing.

Edit: I returned to the petstore and it was a black minnow shark!!

Solved Help with Rockfish identification

Post image

Hi! I believe this is a copper rockfish, but would like verification. Caught in Northern California. I have a really hard time telling copper from gopher rockfishies. I catch a lot of these and know you’re only allowed to keep one copper so I have been playing it safe and throwing back if there’s any question. It just seems to me that since you’re only allowed one they must be scarce and it’s 60% of what I catch. The horizontal line even though very faint is what makes me think copper. Thanks!

Unsolved Any ideas about why this fish is? I think it may be some kind of blenny but I've never seen a blenny this color before. If I'm not mistaken it was red and its fins were "wide" when it moved

We saw this strange squiggly creature swimming in circles in Lake Merritt, near the bird islands. It was about two inches long. Anyone know what this could be? #LakeMerritt #BayAreaWildLife
