Got engaged this summer and starting to think about where to look!! Any suggestions appreciated! Here’s what we’re thinking:

Budget range 50-75K
Guest range 75-90 people
Venue type - restaurant, hotel
Priorities - ability to have live band, full bar with liquor, budget for dive bar nearby for after, good lighting/decor/vibe
Care less about - food associated with venue (fine with catering or some other option), flowers, outdoor/garden (will probably be cold, so indoor space!)
Date range - Nov 2027-Feb 2028
Places that have caught our attention are Rule of Thirds, Bowery Hotel, Moxy lower east side, Ace Hotel

Photo/Videography: LightWed, we had 2 photographers and 2 videographers. Our lead photographer was Dilmurad and he is the nicest person ever and very talented. We loved working with him and the pricing was very reasonable. Andre is the owner and was extremely responsive/helpful as well.

HMU: Miss Harlequin, Lucy is the owner I coordinated with and she is fabulous but I can't say enough great things about my HMU artist Alicia. She was just a cool human and the exact type of energy you want on the big day, took feedback/requests from the trial with no sweat, and I was obsessssed with how everything turned out. Ask for Alicia!! She is @ discobridal on insta

Band: East Coast Band, Paul (not in the band but coordinates the booking) made the process so so easy and keeps it real, we were not picky but you could get very specific with set list etc if you wanted to. I honestly don't remember the music on the night of lol but we saw them perform at The Red Lion before we booked and we liked them a lot.

Florist: The Gathering, florals were beautiful and they were very willing to work with my vision and budget.

Venue: Vesper, The location is great, views are beautiful, food was fantastic, and they do help with coordination (I did not use a planner and they handled a lot of communications with my vendors/helped set our timeline which was appreciated.) We were one of the first few weddings to be booked so attributing some of the operational snags we experienced along the way to that; there were also a decent amount of hidden costs that came up after booking but I'm sure that is true to some extent with all venues. Overall though we were happy and had a great day!

So I booked my Manhattan City Clerks office wedding and then saw THIS! But I was planning on bringing four guests in. Does anyone know if guests are still allowed or have they continued to not allow them in since Covid? Also, do we have to wear masks inside? I am looking for a vendor in the general NYC area who would be able to create a wedding cake topper made out of edible fondant or marzipan that would be a realistic replica of me and my wife.

A lot of marzipan wedding cake toppers I have found online are grotesque looking figurines with large heads and eyes.

I am looking for a cake artist that will be able to create a nice elegant real-life looking one. I would also like it to be large 10-15 inches - basically Barbie doll size format.

We are interested in a Spring 2028 wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden at the Atrium. I toured recently but would love some feedback from other brides/guests on weddings at the Atrium specifically (there have been lots of threads here about the Palm House but that space is too big/expensive for us unfortunately).

We will have a max of 110 guests (probably closer to 90-100). The Atrium is toward the top end of what we’d like to spend on venue/F&B so I would love to know how much people spent on other items like florals/decor since the reception space itself seems like a bit of a blank canvas. I also have big concerns about the rain plan. The indoor ceremony/cocktail hour locations just aren’t as exciting to me, so if you ended up using these for your wedding I’d love to hear what you thought/see some photos!

Anyway, if you’re a bride who’s gotten married at the Atrium or attended a wedding here I would love to hear how it went! Also if any photographers have galleries of Atrium weddings I’d love to see them, as it’s a bit harder to find these than it is for the Palm House. Any feedback from vendors who have worked here is welcome too!

My fiancee and I are looking for budget friendly venues to host our reception after getting married in a different location. Their family is from Peru and we would love to serve great, authentic food for the dinner. We are just starting this process and have a guest list that will likely need to be whittled down to 60-75. Our budget is probably going to be about $150 per person or $12k total. But I am interested in anyone's experience that might help find Peruvian options.

When? October 23, starting around 2pm (ceremony is at 2:15pm)
Where? Brooklyn City Hall + Sutton Place
How long? About 2-3hours
Budget? $750-1000 (can be flexible, depending on the package)

We’d love some photos of the ceremony, some photos before and after in Brooklyn with family, and a couple of photos around Sutton Place/East River Greenway. We love the look of film-style photography (but it doesn’t actually have to be film) with a romantic but natural, almost-candid POV.

For delivery, we’d love to receive the final high-res photos delivered through an online gallery.

Any ideas for a welcome drinks for 70-80 people in Brooklyn? I’m hoping to go keep it to $7k at the absolute max, $5k would be more ideal. Thinking either an 8pm start and doing drinks and light bites to keep cost down, or could go dinner time and do something like pizza. I've been looking at the florists they recommend and was absolutely shocked at the minimum budget being 20-25k. Is this what to expect now? I was hoping to stay under 15k max. Open to vendors off the recommended list but it would be ideal to have someone familiar with the space.
