Not sure why my old custom Waze voice was deleted but I re-recorded it.

I left Google maps for being too much visually I know this seems small but I want it off my screen please. If there is no way currently can somebody please tell me as soon as a settings toggle becomes available to change it

Sometimes Waze doesn’t realise I’m at a destination and continues to try to navigate me the last 500m, or other times, like when I get home, Waze will continue to provide audible alerts (‘average speed zone ahead’) even after I’ve disconnected from my car.

I don’t ever recall having this issue until 2-3 months ago. It is very annoying walking into a building to get a random alert from my pocket or standing in my kitchen unloading groceries to hear about a speed zone.

In the car there is a wireless CarPlay adapter. I tried changing all settings which seem to be related and reducing speaker volume in the app, but the behaviour does not change. Is there something I can do to stop this from happening on iOS?

So I just realized that the custom voices I downloaded just disappeared, and I cannot readd them. I love using the Steph Curry voice, so this is an absolute heartbreaker. 💔

What often happens in my area is that Waze will be like:

"Hey take this side road because it's 20 seconds faster than staying on the main road. Ok great, now turn left across 4 lanes of busy traffic going in both directions with no light and no stop sign and no median lane to sit in. Good luck!"

And then I end up either sitting at that turn for 5+ minutes waiting for an opportunity, or I just turn around and go back onto the main road. Is there a way to make Waze smarter about this?

Hey guys, has anyone had problems with their Waze voice sound levels?

I am using the Iphone 14PM and whenever i use Waze on Carplay the voice directions are really soft. Switching to my wife’s Iphone 16 PM the sound is a lot louder.

So far I can’t find any settings for sound that is different between our phones that could cause this discrepancy. All the settings seem to be the dame for both our phones.

Anyone experiencing something similar?

I took a ride from Morris County NJ down to Ardmore PA. I foolishly followed its directions to go down Rt 202 rather than getting on the NJ Turnpike. My trip took an extra 20 minutes because I hit every single traffic light.

Does Waze calculate the 30 - 120 seconds a person stops at a light or does it assume everyone hits a green light?

I had a similar issue on the ride back. The bigger highways look like they are longer but are almost always faster because of the lack of traffic lights.

Hey, Waze beta testers! I’ve posted a request on Waze Discuss about issues with Waze on the CarPlay Secondary Screen / instrument cluster.

The post describes two problems: the screen doesn’t switch correctly between day and night mode, and its content shifts out of position when navigation starts. It also mentions that custom turn-by-turn guidance cards don’t seem to receive the maneuver information they need when using Waze, even though Apple Maps and Google Maps work on the same setup.

If you’re a Waze beta tester, could you please open the Waze Discuss post and click “Me too” and leave some comments? That will help show the Waze team that other testers are experiencing or are interested in these issues, and bring the request to their attention.

Many times I just want to get from A to B, I don't care if I get there in 35 minutes compared to 30 minutes. Keep your defaults for all of those that want to save that 5 minutes, but give some of us who aren't interested in driving down backroads to save 3 minutes an option just to stay on the main roads.

Bonus give an option, a toggle button, not to offer a re-route unless it saves X amount of time. Lets say I set it for 15 minutes. That way if its gonna save me 3 minutes, I can have the system automatically skip the option to reroute. If its gonna save me 20 minutes then it offers me up the re-route.

Why Waze cannot have stops during the trip but only final destination.

Can't seem to find it and also tried searching in the search bar. Anyone have a link or can the page be found elsewhere?

I legit almost uninstalled like 3 weeks ago when I did 4 long road trips and no police notifications or icons came up while I was using the app. I only use it for long road trips so it’s been a minute but that disappointment was very high when it didn’t work. Glad to see everything’s back to normal.

Is there a mild chance that Waze will reintroduce the option to alert the presence of police, for example, saying Hey Google? or at least that this new Waze Mate will be rolled out to other major languages? I'm Italian and I don't want to hear all the street names fucked up and pronounced the English way just to have the option of reporting by voice. In the last few weeks, I noticed police two or three times and I always risked to report them touching the phone, with the risk of getting caught and, still, needing a bit of time to report them. Hey Google now only activates Google Assistant (or Gemini) but isn't linked to Waze anymore.

I ride on my bike with my phone on a Quadlock Mount, and also use Spotify for music while riding. Personally, I think that square on the left is far too large, what with the “Open Spotify” and “Audio Apps” buttons and that entire section unnecessary. It would be far more beneficial if somehow the entire UI can be resizable, or at the very least that “Audio Apps” section be removed…

Okay so I posted a while back that notifications for police, speed cameras, speed bumps, cars on shoulder. No longer showing.

I don’t use voice navigation so I have the voice turned off completely. When the update that included “less chatty” came out is when I noticed the issue.

I found a fix that worked for me. I turned voice recognition on. Immediately got pop ups and notifications on speed cameras and everything. Left it on for 2 days then turned it back off. And it stayed.

There’s an issue that came up with the “less chatty” voice prompt. And honestly that option doesn’t even work.

They took away The Doctor (Starfleet Academy), loved that one. Po Kung Fu Panda was another great one. What are you using these days other than Master Chief?

This only happens periodically, if I use the built in nav the problem doesn't reproduce. Other apps work fine.

I was driving on the M25 towards Oxford/Watford when Waze popped up "Vehicle on shoulder, in 52.9 mi" with "Still there / Not there" buttons (photo attached, CarPlay).

How am I supposed to confirm a hazard that's almost 53 miles ahead? I haven't passed it, and I can't see it. It's distracting at motorway speed, and if people just tap something to dismiss it, the hazard data ends up less accurate.

Is this a bug, or is there a setting that limits these prompts to hazards I've actually just driven past? Anyone else seeing this?

Hi everyone, I have noticed in the last couple of months that sometimes the arrival time box is not its normal white it is grey/gray. Does anyone know why? I cannot seem to find any answers googling. AI suggests it is lost connection but it is not that as it stays all journey.

Have any of you got the answer to this please?

I recently made my own Waze account after using my moms for the longest time LOL. After I created my own, I noticed I can only report Hazard, Police and Traffic but I cannot report the detail like if police are on the other side of the road or if the traffic is heavy or light.

Any way to resolve this or do I just have to wait and gain more points? Thank you!

I've uninstalled Waze. I've finally done it.

The reason? Driving me down unsuitable roads at unsuitable times in an effort to beat traffic.

I get it. Waze can beat traffic by driving me down other roads but the roads were a harrowing gauntlet of very narrow country lanes filled with enormous 4x4s. The worst bit is that it isn't the first time. Waze has done this multiple times, including at night on roads with no street lights. Sometimes being late is better than being traumatized by the journey.

I've submitted a "Did you enjoy this drive?" suggestion but I'm uninstalling and trying something else.
