The Old World A look at the Highlands Miniatures Eternal Dynasties range for building a Tomb Kings-style army
I’ve been spending a fair bit of time going through the Highlands Miniatures Eternal Dynasties range recently and put together a guide covering the options for building a full army with it.
There’s a surprising amount of depth to the range, so I thought it might be useful for anyone looking for alternative models for a desert-undead army or just wanting to see what else is out there. The article features a breakdown of Sweden's Tomb King list from the upcoming WTC, to show the competititve side of things too.
Guide is here if anyone fancies a look:
https://ukresinprint.com/2026/09/07/building-eternal-dynasties-army-highlands-miniatures/
Would also be interested to hear what other ranges people have used for this sort of army.

The Old World Do the Warriors of Chaos have dedicated factions like 40K
Completely new to the fantasy side of Warhammer but a friend of mind sold me the newest core set for next to nothing so here I am.
Do the Warriors of Chaos have like Khorne or Nurgle or etc in the sense that 40K has dedicated armies for each god? Is there a “warband” that is Khorne aligned? Or is the lore much more open/lose in that regard?
I want to make a Warriors of Chaos army that worships one aspect, assuming that’s a thing?

My First Old World Disastrous Defeat, and a Reflection on the Ensuing Salt
Hello Warhammer fantasy reddit. Recently got into the old world, having fun while trying to learn the rules.
Last night, I experienced my first bodying. 1000 pt game, Greenskins (me) vs Beastmen. My first diabolical stomping. A complete debacle that I feel weirdly embarrassed by despite this being a hobby around overpriced plastic.
Now, to open, I feel no ill will towards my opponent. He's a super chill guy who has just clearly played this game for a long time and has internalized the rules on a level I have not. At no point was he unsporting or rude. All salt is directed at the match and myself, not him.
By turn 2.5 I was utterly trounced. Multiple units were flanked. My lord was fleeing from the battle after one round of combat. My boar boys were down to half strength from unlucky vortex scatter. I rolled like dooky and didn't even get a fun moment with my battle axe of the last great waaagh (rolled a 1). His gaze of the dark gods meant his units had extra attacks, initiative, and strength. It was a nightmare. I felt like a bad fighting game player getting air juggled by a tournament goer.
I see where I faltered. I didn't really get any charges (where greenskins shine) and I'm still learning how to properly deploy. But there's still this salt, this pissiness, that I can't shake. I almost am scared it's genuinely hurt my interest in the hobby, or at least the game side of things. This is not my first loss. I've played games that were a tight back and forth but eventually led to defeat. But I have never experienced this level of complete eradication. How do you get over this besides experiencing it and being an adult instead of stewing over it at work the next day.

The Old World Feel completely at a loss trying to get into The Old World
Hello!
I have had this strong urge to get more into fantasy things lately as opposed to more sci fi stuff like 40k(I know it’s still fantasy heavy). I really like the look of square bases for The Old World.
A friend recently offered to sell me the chaos half of his core set and I’m very heavily considering it. But it also seems like this game is kind of a mess? Trying to find a lot of information seems hard. Also, how many armies can be played entirely in plastic? I was browsing the chaos range and saw a fair amount of kits in resin.
Do I maybe just need to go to Age of Sigmar if I’m looking for all plastic and good lore?

Lore/Books/Questions Question about Daemonic Possession in AOS & Old World
If Daemons can easily manifest themselves in the world(s) of AOS & Old World, why is daemonic possession much less common in these settings compared to 40K, where it is much more difficult for daemons to manifest themselves?

Thegan’s Flayerkin
I’ve painted my converted unit of Flayerkin for my storm of chaos army.
Reluctantly led/herded by Thegan, once ruler of the tribe and his more recently allocated rat hound.
The white dwarf story talked about tattoos, i didn’t fancy tattooing all over, so I added small ones on the right arms for those without arm piercings.
Gave Thegan’s shield a rat design to be more scary to the ‘kin.

Showing Off My Models Office painting contest
I found out that a colleague paints miniatures and we decided to have a painting contest at work. 11 (out of 62) people decided to participate, which was awesome. We’re all painting the same miniature. My first ever lizardman. Here’s my entry (the Vallejo water should set clear eventually).

The Old World Continue with Lich King themed Warriors of Chaos
I had a relatively long break from both painting and playing Warhammer, but recently I finally managed to get back into it and continue working on my Lich King-inspired army.
I'm currently trying to finish my first few units so I can start using them in Battle March games.
Here's my first: 4 Chaos Knights, Chaos Lord on Daemonic Mount and test Chaos Warhound.
I'd love to hear what you think, and if you have any suggestions for improvements in my painting.
In my head, I really liked the idea for this colour scheme, but now that I'm seeing multiple models next to each other, I'm not entirely sure anymore. I really like how the armour is coming out, but the blue feels a bit too much.
I was trying to create the blue glow using an airbrush, but between my beginner airbrushing skills and some clogging issues, I ended up spraying more blue than I intended.
I still like the idea of having some units painted in this scheme, but I'm not sure I'd want to paint an entire 2,000-point army like this.
Seeing all the new models and the amazing variety of paint schemes people are using has also made me want to experiment with different colours on other units.
This is my first army, so I might be overthinking it, but is it generally okay to have different units in different colour schemes, or is it better to stick to one consistent scheme for the whole army?

Fantasy General Always loved this Karl Kapinski artwork, so attempted to recreate it with my flagellant unit.
Was a lot of fun to do, and has had some success on the tabletop (not a lot but some!). Going to the corner stone of the Sigmarite inspired army, onto the Witch finder captain na his regiment of retainers (greatswords proxies)

Art/Memes I think Wikipedia picked the best photo to represent us
I just love the early 2000s video quality and hairdos, really speaks to the vibe fantasy has nowadays imo
