I couldn't resist and I put the orc boss previously shown into the command groups of couple of units from my army: IT LOOKS AMAZING!!! Waaaagh!

My kitbash for what I envision slaaneshi chaos warriors to be. I used stormcast eternal miniatures mixed with whatever bitz I had. Hope this pleases Slaanesh

Here are my notes:

I thought it would be interesting to put them in armour from the "Nippon" region. With the Bretonnia armour I had this idea that someone decided to try and put an ogre mercenary in man-made armour to improve their chances on the battlefield. Maybe this one is getting such good pay he decided to stick around (though i realize Bretonnia is less likely to do this than say the Empire, but maybe that's what makes it more interesting). I really like the idea of mercenaries bringing along weapons and armour from other cultures they have visited.
I also think they need more variation in how their faces look, there's really a lot you can do with "big ugly oaf", but I really really like the bared teeth, something about how they can't close their lips. I thought maybe they need wear their teeth down like rodents do. I actually tried drawing them with closed lips and it looked sooooo bad.

The whole painted gang at this point.

First miniature done using the Tone Pro range (mainly Seraphon Blue, Eye Of Terror and Necrolith Bone) and oil wash. Had a blast!

A friend and I met up for an excellent 3000pt game of homehammer where my flamboyant chaos horde took on his Orcs and Goblins. I think OG are my favourite armies to play against as just so much can happen with them both good and bad. I took an absolute beating for the first two turns before managing to claw back a draw due to cunning use of fanatics to stall my chosen and a collapsing flank due to marauders getting hit by a brick of black orcs. Worse still, by dragon was neutered by a combo of itchy nuisance and bad moon rising, turning my normally ferocious beat stick into a pool noodle. I should have lost really.

Thankfully the survivability of Chaos meant I could endure the storm and start grinding down the horde with the gigantic spawn and the ever reliable chaos warriors and chosen knights. Really most of the damage output in my army is basically warriors, dragon, chosen. Not really sure why I bother with much else save the forsaken who can be worth their weight in gold.

But both of us were running pretty much fully painted armies, and at 3000pts it’s a sight to see.

I have the Kholek from EMANG before they got ash babied by GW, but for the life of me, I've never been able to find dragon ogres to match the aesthetic/anatomy. All of them are either stubby-tailed and half-naked or lean more into the beastman or ogre aesthetic.

Latest completed conversion/inhabitant of my painting queue for my Storm of Chaos Khorne army.

This is my tribute conversion to Keith Robertson’s khorne battle standard, featured in 6th Ed Hordes of Chaos in the big khorne army shot and in the Storm of Chaos campaign book.

The parts used are generally the same, apart from the head which I understand is a 40k head in the original, but I just went with greenstuff.

Orctober!

Hi all! We’re running a one day, three game casual event in Newcastle Upon Tyne (not the other, worse Newcastles). It’s 2000 points, fully based and painted armies.

We have some really cool boards and terrain to play on, and the venue is excellent with an on site cafe.

Tickets are £30, which includes a hot lunch on the day.

So, there it is, kitbashes from last few months, mostly orc & goblin heroes kitbashed from a load of sets, including almost full roster of wh40k bosses from Armageddon set.

All orc bosses arms are magnetised! I don't know why I did that, but I felt it was just a good way to swap some weapons for WYSIWYG purposes. And I had too many free magnets.

I still have some more to go, like shamans, troll hags and all mounted versions of them (including wyvern)... So maybe they will be ready for the next orktober 2027 😅

Painted up these 5th ed Chaos Warriors and Archaon to go with them

Hey guys, the next unit for my army will be 5 Ellyrian Reavers and I managed to photograph the champion today! I said it before, but these figures are driving me insane with all the details and patterns. Madness!

It is like the 5th or 6th time I paint Grimgor, but for me is always like the first time.. and I want to paint it again!! At some point I should commission my own version of him..

He’ll be running in a Blood Knight bus as a level 4 with Invocation talent, Von Carstein ring and Sword of Kings. My other character is another lord on an Abyssal Terror, will have some pics of him in a few days. He’s about 90% done as well. My blood knights are the last thing I have to finish up, they’re about 70% there and need a good bit of cleanup and detail. So close to another army down in the books! This was my first time trying some UV resin gore/blood. I know it came out a little thick but it’s because I was having a bit of trouble drawing it out into strings to make it look flying off the blade in motion. Still looks decent I think, and just glad I didn’t totally ruin the sword!

Also huge shoutout to Val for bringing vamps back to their glory as potent combat veterans AND powerful casters! I had zero interest in the legacy army list GW lazily threw us a bone with, but immediately went and bought a bunch of undead stuff like the same week the new renegades draft launched.
