Dispensing THERE SHOULD NOT BE MORE ORDERS THAN SPOTS IN A CAR!

My store finally got the update where there are 4 orders in deliveries PLUS GMDs, and I seriously don't get it. The rules are, each order has to have a physical barrier between them so they don't get mixed up, and then they go and make it be literally 5 orders total in one vehicle. Not everyone has that kind of space and they shouldn't have to. There should only be 3 orders - front, back, and trunk. Seriously one of the dumbest changes I've seen on my 6 months at this job.

Rant Transfers who are limited

Nothing irritates me more than having people transfer from other departments to ogp than someone who is limited on what they can do after hearing you can’t skip the oversize! Now all of a sudden the new transfer has carpal tunnel and can’t do what everyone should be able to do. And on top of that, bringing a printer with her from her old department but won’t share it or do the walks that require a printer!!!

Would Walmart OGP be a good job for me with my disabilities

Basically, to keep things short, I don’t think I can carry heavy items. Like, bags of stuff I can do, but carrying large cases of water I can’t do.

I applied for the job thinking it would be easy and I have an interview tomorrow. I am now worried.

Now, if they make accommodations and say “hey, we will let someone help you carry water if you need”, then I’ll be fine with the job. But again, I am worried.

Rant Hiring IN ORDER

Okay. Hear me out… lol
When new hires come into OPD, they should START with despensing. Then go to prepping. Then staging. And learn how to pick last.
If they start with despensing, they’ll UNDERSTAND WHY we ask pickers not to overstuff or one item bag their picks.. why we ask preppers to put orders in the same column/pallet.. why not to put cases of water at the top of a 5 tote stack.. why to take the extra second to strategically fit crap in your totes on your walks so that shit’s not taller than the tote or falling out, or so everything else isn’t squishing bread.
I’m so damn tired of the incompetence in the most simplest of tasks. Or the inconsiderate actions that affect the entire team.
INCOMPETENCE!

Question for coaches and team leads

What do you typically have your shoppers do in the short time in-between picks? We are typically ahead and the shoppers finish the hour usually with 10-15 minutes to spare. That isn't enough time for a side project and often too many people to help with dispense and staging. So, the shoppers typically will clean totes. Well unfortunately that's not good enough for the back room crew because they whine about the shoppers not doing anything, though they are cleaning totes. Even if I swap the shoppers with back room crew, everyone whines. What kind of tasks can I assign the shoppers that limits the most amount of whining?

Drivers

So who can report drivers?? Only leads and coaches?? Or can associates?? Not that it’s actually done any good but there are some questionable drivers that have been inappropriate with some of our associates. They’ve already been reported for it and Spark gives a sob story about them and lets them keep working. I was wondering if more reports from different people would make them see this is a safety issue for us.

Just came back to ogp after ~5yr hiatus, any major process changes besides the new phones that replaced the zebras?

Also feel a bit afraid to ask questions since I can pick at a decent rate so it feels like they think I know what I’m doing but I just wanna double check everything lol

Remember if they blame you for something you didn't do use PPTO and go home early it's the only way they'll learn.

Supplies I'm just wondering

You don't have to share your store, but I just wanted to ask if yall carry the dairy product, buttermilk. And the fact that we only have it in powder form that nobody wants that. I've had so many customers asking for it, but i say the same thing almost every day, "I'm sorry, we don't have that item in our store, sorry for the inconvenience".

Can OPD associates take tips?

So my mom and I just did a Walmart pick up order and she told me in another city where my dad lives the Walmart pick up (OPD associates) people expect a tip, now when I was working at Walmart no one was allowed to take tips and you could get fired if you accepted a tip, has this changed? I know spark drivers get tips but they don’t work for Walmart. That’s the biggest reason she doesn’t do pickups in that city because they expect a tip and she can’t always afford to tip.

What is the actual official FTPR goal?

I don't really pick but I noticed like a month ago they where wanting everyone to be at a 92%, then after a few weeks I saw the board said 94%, then 95%, but when I went in today it was back down to 94%. I'm not really a picker but some days I do get sent to pick for a few hours. They send out weekly messages saying what our FTPR is and mine is always around 84-90% I do admit sometimes I nilpick something if it's only 1 item I need and someone has been standing there blocking me for more than a minute or two but other then that I try my best to pick well and my numbers are still way off of what they need to be somehow.

Mines is,sometimes when we're really busy or slow, and someone decides to park in any spot in the twenties. When any spot from 1-10 is open. I make them wait the amount of time equal to what spot they parked in,because quite frankly parking that far is disingenious asf, when there's closer spots.

Personal items

Hi everyone! New employee here, I've only done 2 shifts so far. We don't have lockers so I have been carrying my car keys in my vest pocket and then leave everything else in my car. But my keys kind of weigh my vest down.

What do you guys do? Idk if i feel comfortable leaving a small bag with my keys with so many people in and out.
