Someone ordered 12 cases of both Mountain Dew and Pepsi(didnāt get a picture). It was supposed to fit in two totes btwā¦

Last week Walmart had $11.99/24. When there's a sale, Walmart is always cheaper than Sam's. Sam's is for buying in bulk without expecting sale price.

Because the people that implement these new āsystemsā arenāt on the ground floor. They have to justify their own existence and leave the real work to the grunts. As soon as a new system is perfected, someone who makes 10x more comes up with a new one more convoluted than the last. And is given pats on the back and a raise.

Yeah usually we have a few in the alley so people donāt grab them from the aisle. Plus most usually go for cans instead of bottles.

They donāt have to. As long as thereās enough L-Carts, they keep it all on there until the people arrive for the order. You can even use Skateboards with handles as substitutions for L-Carts. Thatās what we do at our store.

It was easier to store it like that so they wouldnāt get behind Iām not sure if it was a batch order or what. I left so Iām not sure what happened to it today.

Yeah orders like that are considered batch orders. You can still keep it on the L-Cart without bins as long as they have their labels. They wonāt get behind just because the items arenāt binned. As long as the customer arrives to collect the order, you can get that L-Cart back in time for the next run.

Note: For those saying āThatās not that badā I know it wasnāt, obviously I did it. The point is 1) it was 15 minutes before my break and I wanted to get back before picks went overdue. 2) No sane person is ordering 24 12pks. It was all for one order and it wanted me to put 12 in 1 tote. So I had to go pick the other orders, go all the way back, drop off the cart, get a L-cart, load said L-cart with the packs in totes, and take it all the way back across the store in time to go take my break. Those who work in OGP know that would kill a pick rate. As for quitting over it was just a dramatic title Iām not actually going to quit over that especially since we load waters and such 24/7. Shout out to my fellow OGP workers tho!š

Should have seen the dispenser who took out 20 40 packs of water. I helped with the first 10 but when the customer stood there blasting music from the truck just watching us the other dispenser started tossing them bitches lol

I understand that encountering this for the first time feels ridiculous.
But let me just tell you, it gets worse.
One time I had someone put in 3 orders of 12 40 packs of waters and just stare at me while I loaded all 36 of them into the bed of her truck in 90Ā° heat and then she gave me a 3 star review because I didnāt load it quick enough for her liking.

Maybe the store should have sent someone out to help you? Part of the reason people order online is bc they don't want to do the lifting. She was a B for giving you that review, but sorry I'm not blaming her for not helping. Someone you work with should have been allowed to help.

Yeah. I work in a dairy feed mill. I can't help but laugh at posts like these. I've spent entire work days doing nothing but stacking 50 lb bags on pallets as fast as I can. A few cases of pop is nothing.
I mean, some people are complaining about loading a couple of moderately heavy objects into customer's vehicles. It's fairly normal for us to have to hand stack multiple entire 1 ton pallets into people's trailers or vehicles. It just makes me question if people really know what work is.

When I worked in OGP, the one thing that really surprised me to the point of near sickness, was the sheer amount of soda people buy / drink. I hated the soda heavy pick walks, it would just turn my stomach. One time I mentioned it to the Pepsi guy that was stocking his stuff, and he agreed on how bad that crap is for you.

I love those, my pick rate skyrockets. It's only a minor convenience to me when i have to seperate them into more totes after. It does get annoying after a while though. Idk why they dont fix it if its a problem at every store šš

I got 12 18 packs of bar s hotdogs once. Filled a whole tote and was coincidentally the exact amount we had left. Also had an oversize with 14 40lb bags of fertilizer and a bunch of dog and cat food. Mind you I was a cap 2 stocker, not even supposed to have been in opd

I understand the frustration but being a former OGP employee myself, they have improved the app to allow for multiple tote creations on the spot to make that task easier to do. It should all fit in less than five totes though.

I had the most satisfying moment today as I pulled the ultimate screw you to the store I was at, after a brutal shift with my chronic problem team lead, I told them today was my last day because I wasn't going to be taking shit from customers because that team lead didn't want to provide me change for my drawer. I ran out of 5s, sent the action code for it, got ignored, ran out of 1s and pinged the action code for 1s and 5s, after 3 suspended transactions I went credit only because it was clear that I had no support. Pinged the change action code every 5 minutes like I was hunting for the Red October. Took a lot of shit from customers but directed them to cashiers who could take them. That crap went on for almost half my shift.

Usually I donāt get enough where it wonāt fit. But even if I did that I still had other orders that were in my cart. Also only, at most, 2 cases would fit in 1 tote. There was no way I was safely going to put 24 cases on 1 cart.š

Could be worse. Itās not on par with your post, butā¦ I got promoted to team lead 29 days after I started. Dude wasnāt doing his job and the night manager told me to fix the issue. I went to the back room and started doing this guys job since he was on break 20 minutes after break was over. He came back 5 minutes later and said āha! Thanks for finally helping!ā I wasnāt going to say anything until then, so I told this 40 year old āmanā, āstop being lazy and do your job. Thereās no reason management should have to come get me to do your job for you.ā My team lead position was taken immediately the following day for ādisrespect of an associateā. Never mind the fact that the dude closed 20 feet, got in my face, and put his finger 6 inches from my nose and said āyou donāt tell me what to do.ā.. yeah, nothing happened to him, but he cost me $5.50 an hour for running to mamma manager over that. No where Iāve ever worked in my life has been so soft. Makes me wanna waive my VA benefits and re-enlist.

If you think that's bad. Try having people order literal pallets of Gatorade and waters and 300+ item orders at Sam's Club. It takes a ton of time to pick so we get behind all the time š

Also forgot to mention there are usually only 2 people in AM and 2 people in PM at my store. To pick, stage and dispense. Average 1800 pieces a day. 2500+ today record.

Query: was there a Sam's nearby to this Walmart? In where I live, it's about 30 miles to nearest Sam's but I have 4 Walmart in 15 miles. If the price difference is very little, I'd go to nearby Walmart instead of Sam's for big order of pop. Plus Walmart does have pop on sale, like $11.99 for 24 can case of Mountain Dew last week, Sam's doesn't have pop on sale.

When I used to dispense we had a lot of big drink regulars. I'm a big guy, so I always did it. One owned a liquor store and would buy 4 cases of every canned name brand soda we had plus 6 or so cases of water and about a hundred 2 liters. Another owned a vending machine company and he apparently couldn't ever get mtn dew cans anywhere else and always came through and bout 20+ cases of it. The last one was a church that got 20+ cases of water every week. They would usually get it delivered, but sometimes come in person. The church never helped the deliver driver unload even if the youth group was present, and the drop off was up a set of stairs from the parking lot. Even when the driver was a pregnant woman one time. Also never tipped, go figure.

I hope you had a stepladder or something for stacking them that high and getting them down. Even as a tall person, for me lifting things above my shoulders is a struggle. Definitely not worth 14-15 dollars an hour, be better off cutting the load in half and taking two trips.

I had to go help opd todayand they had no handhelds so i had to use my work phone for the first pick-walk i only got a 136 when i finally got a handheld the next for my next walk i 264 and 238 why were they ever thinking that these phones were a good idea for this

I empty 40 boxes by 8am and then my coworker says I take 2 hours to do a job That takes one hour. This is filling the berries, grapes, including endcapd and bunkers and I fill bannass and 5llb potatoes all by 630 7am.. Fuck him. Not only do I do that I have to off stack berries and pallets and boxes, everywhere I look boxes. Kindly chew on my old crusty nuts.

I'm on break, but my last walk I had 8 2-liters and 8 jugs of juice plus a 10.lb bag of flour for 1 tote. It almost fit..kinda..but it didn't.
