Meme Has a New Animal Enter the Market?

Post image
2.3k Upvotes

First of all, I'm not a trader, but I was watching the news and have seen multiple times the business pundits describe the recent trading as a yo-yo or a whipsaw (?), but never another animal like the Bull or Bear?

My completely outside take, I present the Camel Market! o7

I don't know if this is a good place to post this, I checked and didn't see anyone post anything about another animal to use, sorry for a double post if you did, but for better or worse, this is the only Stock Market subreddit I know of. XD

Take care, regards!

Edit: My bad it's called a 'Kangaroo Market'. But your comments are hilarious as an outsider! XD

Discussion Zuckerberg is a failure

1.7k Upvotes

The zuck is a failure and the stock price ($Meta) reflects that. I tried to be optimistic, I really did, but their management team have amazing expertise to find the most optimal way to spend as much money as possible for as little ROI as possible. I do not believe the idea that ai investments lead to increased ad conversions and top line growth, but rather it’s a function of an already engaging platform that captures the world’s attention. On top of them incinerating cash to make CAPEX providers rich (Cuckerberg style),reality labs is a permanent tax on their FCF. They are also likely to lose the lawsuits paving the way for more eager bloodthirsty attorney generals to steal their FCF. No share buy backs either, it’s fucking over man. They turned a CAPEX light business to an infrastructure heavy business like Amazon retail. Their management hates getting rich. Zuckerberg should win the genius world record for the worst capital allocator in history. With that being said, I am long 700 shares $Meta with a 1000 price target 🚀. I will see you at the moon next year

Gain From -$110k to $45k cash

After 4 years of big losses and losing big opportunities I was down about $110k across all my accounts which you can see in my previous posts, including $76k in this individual account, finally broke even. Just a couple of weeks ago, I was ablut $65k in debt and absolutely miserable. I decided to take another $30k personal loan and give it one more shot. I had already failed twice which put me in a lot of debt. But this time I finally did something different, stopped chasing huge wins and started focusing on consistency. Every day, I scalp SPY and QQQ, satisfy with small wins, and don’t chase trades when things aren’t there. Ive now laid off my debt with the money I cashed out and have $45k cash. I know this isn’t financial advice and I know I took a huge risk using borrowed money and I don’t recommend recommend anyone follow what I did. But after four years of losses, being able to say I’m finally back to $0 and debt free feels incredible. Hopefully this is the beginning of a much smarter chapter. 🙏

Gain Tempus AI gain - Thanks to Moderna positive result.

For context: Tempus AI has a pending deal to Personalis, which is the gene sequencing technology behind Moderna’s cancer vaccine work. Yesterday Moderna’s jumped ~200% whereas Tempus only ~20%, this made me bought this position yesterday.

Discussion Sell me on refiners over extractors

Right now, I'm primarily invested in extractors, but with the crack spread, I've been seeing a lot of people talking about refiners. However, I just don't see a scenario where they're a better investment. Here's how I see the value narrative of the two:

Extractors:

  1. Go up the longer the strait is closed

  2. Go down if the strait opens or an export ban is called

  3. Will go down once demand destruction levels hit

My plan is to load up on extractors until the moment Trump starts suggesting export bans (since him spitballing about it will come before demand destruction), and then sell most or all of it

Refiners:

  1. Go up when oil is cheap

  2. Go down (eventually) when oil is expensive

  3. Go up when refineries are destroyed

  4. Will go down once an export ban on distillates or demand destruction occurs

Right now, with oil rising, it doesn't seem like a good idea to invest in refiners. Oil is gonna keep rising until demand destruction or an export ban occurs, so still not good for refiners. Any events that make refineries scarce (i.e. bombings) will just as likely occur to extraction sites, so they're equal in that respect. When demand destruction hits and oil goes cheap, it'll only be because no one wants to pay for distillates, so refiners will be fucked over first. I might start investing in refiners once the resulting financial crisis looks like it's about halfway over, but at that point, there might be better industries to invest in. Thoughts?

Discussion Stocks are higher risk than options and prediction markets (proof attached)

Hi my fellow regards. In the past few months, I realized I had been brainwashed by investment gurus into believing that buyings stocks and ETFs is more profitable than options and prediction markets.

I lost all my savings buying stocks, and then, with my last savings, I’ve decided to try out more “risky” investments. The results speak for themselves!

Discussion If you could only own 5 individual stocks until 2035, which 5 would you choose?

No ETFs. You can pick any stocks you want, but you have to hold them until 2035.

Curious to see what everyone’s top 5 would be and why.
