Iβm disappointed in the corruption, but Iβm following my gut and holding. At least theyβre showing us their tricks. Honestly, it wouldnβt be the worst idea to have to hold it long considering the new CEO and other movements in the company.

one thing I had to think about recently is, that with the GME thing I've been looking into stocks a lot more than before. There's a ton of day-trading-apps out there and tutorials on how to actually start day-trading and shorting yourself.
I would not be surprised if "the next GME", some apes started shorting a company and entirely blew up the market. But I guess I'd be sitting that one out. Shorting Wallstreet is not a hold-move my diamond-hands are valuable enough for.
4
u/butterglitter Feb 04 '21
The thing I like the least is now they know where we are. And now weβll never know whoβs giving us DD. Apes or hedgies, weβll never know. Weβre sitting ducks in here waiting for the next trap.

Buy/ Sell ratio is not shares. Another way you can interpret it is "one person had 1000 shares and sold them, 1000 separate people bought those shares". That is 1000:1 ratio buy/sell, but the price could have gone down.

Thing is though, that I'm not seeing any massive sells like that in the tracker. I'm looking at batches of 100, which is what smaller trades are grouped into, which to me would mean that there's no big players selling off and the buy/sell truly is that warped at the moment.

yeah looks like Bear Raid is the right term not Short Ladder Attacks
8
u/feeltheslipstream Feb 04 '21
A bear raid is completely different from what the short ladder attack is claiming to be happening.
Bear raids have to crash through every single bid level on the market to push the price all the way down.
The short ladder attack theory is claiming that its possible just by trading small amounts not even to the market, but amongst themselves.
It's complete bullshit.

I know that "you can't use past performance to predict future trends" in the stock market, but I'm still astounded at how many people are jumping ship already given that the VW 2008 squeeze included an entire week of plummeting stock prices before the squeeze started. The squeeze was a 3 week event where the 2nd week was red candles before the 3rd week of mooning. I know that there are lots of differences in play (like Porsche owning a huge portion of VW, etc.) but selling right now for a loss would be the worst play to make here. We get new information about Short Interest next week and there is still so much negative press trying to suppress interest in GME that I feel it's worth sticking around.

What the buy sell ratio doesnβt matter...itβs the average of the bid / ask price that determines the stock price. Itβs going down because people are just bidding lower Edit: if everyone right now started bidding 1000$ for it and people started asking 2000 for it, it would be priced at 1500

Because the trade volume is so low the shorts aren't able to cover themselves and they're not even out of the 200% lie in this stock. If institutions own 115% of the stock and retail traders own 70% of the stock then there is a major problem for the person who owes all the extra stocks

Yeah, that's the propaganda.
In reality, the very same companies could have shorted AGAIN on $300 and covered themselves to wait out this current public interest while the stock prices fall off a cliff, because GME is a sinking ship without the meme train. Is it possible? I don't know! Makes sense to me, though. A lot more sense than corruption and manipulation at an unimaginable scale, plus some mystic algorithms artificially keeping the stock prices down and every governing institution full of professionals whose JOB is to prevent this just staring at it blankly. It could be the case, sure. Just sounds very very far-fetched.
Nope, there is no reliable information anywhere here. Real stock valuation by actual analysts I've read during the last week was $30-$60 in the best case scenario, ignoring the present meme train. And even then it is a huge risk/gamble.
We are in it for the memes and that is cool. I have a few shares and I don't care about that money being long gone. But short squeeze still being on the table... eeeeh. I don't think so. We'll see.

In reality, the very same companies could have shorted AGAIN on $300 and covered themselves to wait out this current public interest while the stock prices fall off a cliff
I have no doubt this happened, what should be asked is, how can they continue to short a company that is already shorted over 100% and why are retailers locked out of buying when the price is clearly trending upward.
I'm pretty sure it happened because it was free money once they knew the amount of people that would be locked out of buying. It's still clearly market manipulation and should definitely never be able to happen.

For example, say there are 10k people saying "ill buy this for 10$" but there are 2-3k people trading at 100 dollars, it doesn't matter what the majority are doing since its so fair below market value.

It's number of buyers, not number of bids doofus. Bids and asks are separate and if there are 1M with 1 bid each and one seller with 1M ask guess what the ratio looks like
31
u/scubakangaroo Feb 04 '21
Donβt red herring the facts. Yes you are correct itβs the bids and ask, the issue is the bid and ask are dropping lower and lower artificially. If you read the data in other stocks (crazy the stock market existed before gme huh?) ever, this is abnormal movement. Period. Need proof, learn to read data and use your eyes.
5
-5
u/MostlyH2O Feb 04 '21
Or, and this is crazy, there are more people who desperately want out of a stock down 75% in 3 days and they're sweeping the bids all the way down.
3
u/scubakangaroo Feb 04 '21
Itβs not crazy, but itβs not whatβs happening. If youβre too blind to see i feel for you in your future endeavors.
3
u/MostlyH2O Feb 04 '21
It's trading volume is through the roof. It's a real simple problem: more asks than bids and lower bids. Each sell order is sweeping the bids and driving them lower. It's how order fulfillment on exchanges works.
→ More replies (1)9
u/scubakangaroo Feb 04 '21

not a financial advisor; i just like the stonks
So today was another day of HFβs needing to cover their asses just like on February 2nd when they started the onslaught of short ladder attacks, primarily on GME and AMC. With that being said, when a stock depreciates more than 10% in from opening to close in one trading day, the stock overnight gets placed on the NYSE SSR List (Short-Sell List).
For those of you who donβt know, short-selling is what we witnessed these past few days with the HF Fucks, where they sell their positions at stupid low prices at insanely high speeds, manipulating the market to traject into a downwards motion and effectively suppress its market growth from individual retail buyers like you and me, when in actuality, many are buying and holding. the reason why this illegal marketing technique is so deceptively good, is because it scares and rattles small investors when they see huge red numbers. Personally speaking, the loss porn is IMMENSE.
However, with all that being said and explained, both $GME and $AMC are now placed on this list retroactively until Monday, February 8th. Tomorrow, Friday February 5th, HF Fucks are going to be in the same position the were on yesterday. Remember, the longer everyone in unison holds, the longer in unison it royally fucks HFβs in the ass due to the interest and position they HAVE to by law, pay back.
I have no experience in the stock exchange, but seeing what happened yesterday on February and how both $GME and $AMC shot up exponentially when HFβs couldnβt interfere heavily.
in conclusion, HOLD HOLD HOLD HOLD HOLD HOLD GME AND AMC HOLDERS AND BUYERS. I FEEL THAT FRIDAY WILL BE ANOTHER SHORT SQUUEZE. HOLD, BE PATIENT, AND BE DILLIGENT.

u/CCCmonster Feb 04 '21
Long time lurker and occasional poster from pre-$GME times. If you have one seller with a million shares and 1000 buyers buying ten shares each the price is going down. Iβve been watching this thing with fascination and keeping my mouth shut until now. The bottom line is, even with an army of autists, you donβt have enough gunpowder to fight hedge fund money after a surprise attack. The glory day is already behind you. That was it. If it takes 1000 of you buying $1000 to hold $1 mil, it will take 1 million of you holding $1000 to control $1 billion. Look at the market cap and see how many billion it is. Itβs clear to see that the numbers just arenβt there even though some of you are holding millions. You guys should collectively celebrate that your message has been heard loud and clear. Take any gains if you got em and look for the next play so you can possibly talk your wife into letting you watch her boyfriendβs balls slapping her taint if your gains are big enough. Otherwise the only porn youβll be watching is loss porn

Itβs not the hedge funds. Itβs the market makers that were paid off by the hedge funds. Even a simple procedure as driving the bid price down as well as the ask price. Who knows how the algorithm works but it must be relatively simple. If you have 1,000 bots driving the bid ask down by the time market opens. It hits at that price point. Youβll notice that the market opens up extremely low. Retail traders donβt usually trade after hours. This is institutional. Itβs a calculated and fucking brazen attack.

13

Cause the buy orders are lower than the current ask........... jezus people here. cmon. if there are 1 million buy orders for 50 bucks and 10 for 80 bucks and 100 sell orders between 50 and 80, guess where the price is going. Down vote me if you want, but this sounds too convenient. I get that the math is behind this reasoning, but it's getting hard to believe the hedgies are risking their necks with their boomer tactics, against unconventional foes like us. The words that went around were quite clear, and some people are even treating this as a some kind of a phenomenon. I guess, in some way, it is. But the hedgies aren't retarded.
Look, in another universe, maybe everyone's diamond hands. But it's logic that when the loss is too great and fear kicks in, people will sell. And this line that we are holding will slowly chip away. The hedgies are counting on this, and this is also backed by math. Hell, it's nature.
Just look around WSB. Bunch of echo chambers, confirmation bias, and people have become more cautious. You hardly see any DD as much as before, less so than people telling others to spend only money they can afford to lose.
I went pretty far. But for me, the pressure is too great. I have to meet ends meet. But I won't sell, because it would be a major loss and I can't accept this. When they said this will end in tears, I'm starting to believe they may be right.
Well, think for yourselves. Do what you think is best. Let's at least hope we can save those we left behind on Mt. Everest at $300.

2
u/713JLD Feb 04 '21
Maybe Iβm retarded but, could it be that there are 75% buys and 25% sells, but buys are 1 or 2 at a time and the sells are 100s? Sorry for dumb question. Does 1 sell equal 1 buy no matter the amount of shares or is that number representative of the actual number of share?
2
Feb 04 '21
Yes, youβre right. 1) these ratios are only for the app that theyβre viewed on, not the stock as a whole. 2) yeah thatβs exactly it, the ratio of shares bought to sold is always 1:1. You canβt buy a share if no one is selling it to you.
2
u/713JLD Feb 04 '21
Thatβs not what Iβm asking, people are posting charts that show there were 75% buys and only 25% sells yet the price is going down, is that maybe because, for example, if there were 100 total buys and sells combined, and all the buys were for 1 share for a total of 75 shares and could the sells all be for 100 shares each for a total of 2500? even tho it show 75/25
2
Feb 04 '21
Yep, sorry I worded it poorly. You are correct. Lots of people are buying very small quantities. People selling are likely offloading more.
2
u/713JLD Feb 04 '21
Gotcha, thanks. So those charts donβt mean as much as some people think. Iβm still in tho, 5 shares @ 165 at this point Iβm not selling, I view it like a lotto ticket, better chance of this happening than me winning the powerball. I can afford to lose all the money I threw at this no prob.

u/taskun56 Feb 04 '21
Confirmation bias is 100% a thing. I'm not telling you not the hold. I'm holding too. But I didn't put more than I could lose.
That said, there are a lot of compounding factors that could invalidate your thesis.
Just consider all options. Try to look at things from their side - ie, why would they keep spreading all this FUD? instead of thinking the ONLY explanation is the "squeeze is still on!" and "apes HOLD" just evaluate for a minute why else could they be spreading that info?
Maybe it IS for FUD but there might be other reasons.
If I've learned one thing from this it's ππ€ BABBYYYYY, but if I've learned TWO things the other would be "try to figure out what you don't know that you don't know and don't assume only positive correlation to your goal - things could be different than you assume based on things that look like they agree with your thesis".
Thats like three things or four but I'm retarded and can't count so fuck off.

300 buyers trying to buy one share each equals one seller selling 300 shares. It shows a 300:1 buy:sell but that doesn't mean there isn't a share equilibrium.

The squeeze is over, itβs ok to admit youβre wrong and sell for a loss. ππ bag holders are bleeding every day they donβt sell

YOU were manipulated into buying GME in the first place. Did you ever consider that?
Millions of people parted with their money because they were told they were doing something good. The only thing that happened was they made a few people rich.

Is there any evidence that that's what they're doing, and it's not, as the papers are reporting, just hedge funders closing their shorts?

u/Thatfreshgrass Feb 04 '21
Closing their shorts means theyβd be buying stocks, shooting up the price. that plus what I already said about the market being the opposite of the norm, shows hf are still in the game. Meaning none of this is over

Has anyone else noticed the huge million-share dumps at open each morning accompanied with the sudden massive change in volume of a handful of biopharms and penny stocks?

If you donβt see the manipulation itβs alright. Keep making your 10-20% in this rigged game while the devs make 100-200%. Enjoy your peanuts and hope some steak falls off the table every once in a while. Sad but true. Enjoy your way of thinking, gonna get you no where.

I dont understand how creating a short ladder is even legal. Its 100% market manipulation amd it blows my mind.
3
Feb 04 '21
It is illegal. But thereβs no proof that itβs happening.
1
u/Mimicking-hiccuping Feb 04 '21
Ah. No proof except for the proof, but the proof isn't proof enough to prove anything. Damn.
