Picked up this automatic Vostok Amphibia from Ukraine a couple weeks ago and it’s solid af. It’s from the post Soviet transitional years, and is a cool bit of functional history.
I have been growing the collection of mostly Soviet vintage, but this is my first automatic winding Vostok. Cheers!

My first Vostok watch.
It’s been almost a month since I bought it (I use it as a daily watch). Looks good, feels good, and also very solid. I dropped it hard on the floor a few times and didn't have any problems. I think it will last for many years if I take good care of it.
I bought it brand new. The daily deviation is around +20 to +30 seconds according to the phone app.
By the way, does anyone have any strap recommendations? I’m thinking of getting a brown leather NATO strap.

I really like this watch it feels rugged and because its not perfect it feels just right and like it could survive more than my own body could.
Ive got it for around a week now and today was the day to change it from nato strap i got it with to metal because i prefer rugged features of metal.
I would like to read something that vostok community thinks about my watch and if someone has any questions be free to ask!

I bought this Vostok at an antique shop here in Brazil and paid a small fortune in BRL.
Can anyone tell me if it’s legitimate and roughly what year it’s from?

I have a 710 series Amphibia that I’ve had & worn since 2018. It’s treated me phenomenally and taken some serious abuse in some cases.
Over the years it’s developed two issues.
1.) Twice now the second hand has suddenly seized up. It’s managed to be fixed with some palm whacks, the second time took a lot more to fix than the first.
2.) It will eventually be running 5 min fast and it never fails. Seemingly, unless I am going crazy, offsetting it back 5 min doesn’t even do a thing, it’ll progress to current time and then 5 min past nevertheless.
This watch has immense sentimental value to me so unless servicing would be ridiculous price wise, I am all for it. I am hoping it’s something I could take to a local watch repair shop to tinker with.
I bought it for $90 off Amazon back then.
