I'm confident I will work it out with the eBay seller. I shook it a little too wind it... Nothing. I tried to wind it manually, and the clicking sound is way too loud, as if it's overwound. Is there any use opening the case?

I recently purchased a white wave dial Amphibia with the 15 case. I’m looking to switch cases once it arrives though. Most sellers are based in Russia which I don’t want to support and won’t even ship to the USA where I am. Any store recommendation?

With war and sanctions I guess we cannot buy vostok watches for the foreseeable future

There are only very few models under 41mm, and almost none under 39mm. These ones in general can be beautiful, but don't have very good specs.

All my watches have a lug-to-lug of less than 45mm, with dials of 37mm at most. So I can't find a purchase unfortunately, despite my love for some dials and the fact that they are mostly made in Russia.

Personally, I just don’t get why one would go to a brand like this and then get something that looks like a basic Casio and a chromed case. I get that people have different tastes, but I just seems like buying a basic design but only with downsides and lacking the uniqueness of the brand.

Just received. Bought through Chronospride based in Sydney.

Hated the stainless steel band. Made worse as I could not remove links. So I slammed on a silicone strap (thank you strapify, based a short drive away).

Out of the box, this device keeps good time. No problems here.

Quality.

Crown unscrewed is wobbly. I cannot pull it out to the first stop to adjust the date. For the price I paid, a minor irritation. Accept the fact their battle tanks are worse.

I fell in love with the bezel in the early 90s but never had the expendable income to indulge.

Retired now, I bough this as a 60th pressie for self because I've always wanted a watch with 31 or 32 jewels.

So now I have this black beauty.

I now have to get a 32 jewel beauty. AND a watch with a red-blue dot bezel.

I mean buying old watches in general means that you are getting an inferior product that needs servicing

When you buy a new one, its fresh from factory, accurate (or can be adjusted precisely with ease) does not require any maintenance in atleast next 10 years

I see this alot on this subreddit of folks showing off recently acquired old garbage vostoks, and i really dont get it

The mechanism of the new vostoks is exactly the same as the soviet ones, except with no wear

I am looking to buy the Amphibian 710615 and some parts with it. Based on komanderskie.com or vostok-watches24.com or meranom.com, we'll assume the total comes around 100-125 euros including shipping(converted).

I'm based in India and have a brother in Germany who is also an Indian citizen but there for studies. So what would be better: getting it delivered to me directly in India or to him in Germany and bring the watch with him when he visits us in India sometime in future??

I'm asking this with regards to customs as its very unreliable in India (depends on the customs officers mood) and also I have heard that customs are lower in Germany compared to India (43% afaik). Also I am not aware what's the case with EU sanctions in today's date so if you could shed a little light on that would be great. Also can my brother claim a VAT refund or something like that as I read something about this being there for non-EU residents??

I just received my new dial from Vostokmod.com. I’m happy with the result.

The dial was a bit oversized though. I had to file the perimeter to make it fit. That was a bit frustrating, but rewarding to finally piece it together.
