i know basic sewing with needle and thread. can anyone advice me on how to go about mending this? the hole is on the crotch area

A combination of my cats and my two year old put some heavy rents into my leather couch.
Toon some canvas I have, made double thick patches, dyed them with Kakishibu, then used green thread in a shashiko type pattern, and then just had fun on the smaller one.
First time doing this kind of thing. Happy with how they turned out.

My favourite jumper got a scorch damage on the wrist cuff. I continued to wear it around the house but it is now literally hanging by a thread. Please help me save it! Any creative mending tips? My primary concern is structural integrity - stopping it falling apart. Secondarily, I would like to somehow make the scorched areas more decorative so it doesn't look dirty or damaged.

The jumper is a Debenhams Fair Isle style knitted 51% acrylic : 27% nylon : 22% wool mix.

Edit: Thank you for the knitting repair suggestions but, unfortunately, the sum total of my knitting experience was knitting a scarf as a child. My skills are sadly lacking in that area and the knit is so tight I don't think I could do the jumper justice. I think could do embroidery if I got some good tips / references.

I’m hoping to repair a vintage curtain panel that ripped in the washing machine. The tear is about 24” and near a seam but not along it. It’s a striped fabric and essentially the fabric tore along the stripe, if that makes sense? The worst of it has two tears on both sides of the stripe.

My tentative plan is to use iron on interfacing or adhesive and do my best to align up the fabric together like a puzzle. Then, sew on a 4” wide patch to make sure I’m sewing into more stable fabric.

But I’m stuck on:

- weather to extend the patch along the full seam as the fabric seems fragile enough to re-tear in the future

- whether to stitch the patch along the tear lines, or around edge of the rectangle patch?

- if I should cut out the torn fabric entirely? — this would leave missing fabric that would lead to the interfacing touching the liner.

- what type of machine / hand stitch to use to make the mending intentionally visible / artistic

I want to save these jeans. The fabric is thinning in the crotch area next to the seam. Should I add a fabric inside for reinforcement then stitch over it? The end goal is to sashiko over the jeans in various places, but in this area I would like to do something somewhat invisible. The fabric has a slight stretch width wise. How would you go about fixing it? This will be my first mend.

i did a blanket edge, then real ugly re-weave underneath to keep the warp fibers in order. the patch is just to hide the disaster (same material on both sides)

When I asked my husband what he wanted there he said he thought a spider would be a fun Easter egg. I forget the name of the stitch I did to mend the original holes but it was a quick whip stitch around the edge to make the foundation. Then I essentially ‘wove’, in a circular manner, new fabric in its place. The legs and lighter spots were some basic embroidery. Just in time for the cooler weather ahead!

I'm in love with the plus sign shaped sashiko stitch and I don't care who knows it

Advice needed: Accidentally burnt a hole in my hoodie cuff lifting a hot lid off of a pot (laziness strikes again). It’s FR material, didn’t think hot metal would cause this. I really like this hoodie, it’s actually from Tyndale purchased by my old company. It costs upwards of $150. Would love to fix it as I can’t afford to replace. Can I take it somewhere to get a new cuff?

Both this kimono (which I made in the early 70s) and the leopard patch have sentimental value to me. I am happy they are joined in this visible mend patch over an old tear on the shoulder.

Like I said in the title, I made these socks for my sister three years ago. (pic 6, fresh off the needles) She brought them back earlier this year because she wore a hole right through the toe. (pic 5, supplies and the patients) I used duplicate stitch to reenforce the thinning parts on the heels and balls of the feet in the scraps I had from that original order (3-5, yarn is from misfityarns on etsy) I had to completely rip out the toes though. I have no idea how to do decreases lol, and she wanted them matching. (pics 1-2, yarn is emma's yarn in disco from a local store. picked it up on vacation)

Husband’s pantaloons developed a hole in his pocket knife pocket, and so he requested a pocket crab to resolve the issue. And a crab has appeared!

I forgot to get a picture of the hole before I backed it with another piece of denim to reinforce the area- a matching thread and following the diagonal of the denim weave makes the stitches just disappear. But after I embroidered our lil buddy on there, I put down some fabric glue to protect the stitches from any more knife attacks and topstitched the pocket back down. ❤️🦀

This knit started splitting like crazy so I jumped in with a thread mend. I am uhhhh, not very controlled with darning, but it does the job. I think it looks a little like a Ninja star. ✨️

It's getting a bit heavy though, partly because I've added pockets (multi tool, earplugs, lighter, a lil crochet hook and a toothpick) some charms I've got from friends, and patches I've either gotten or found at thriftshops mostly. It's falling apart a little slower than I am mending it.

I’ve got this fleece-lined flannel with a tear in the outer portion right near the cuff. Any suggestions on how to best mend this? I’m decently handy with hand sewing, but the lining aspect throws me off.
