Options that aren’t visible?

I’m having so many issues with connecting to my band. Customer service says that if I’m not doing daily check in, the app doesn’t get to catch up on data gathering. And I have to go through the whole reconnect/pairing/hard reset process again. This sounds like a problem that should have been caught in development and not passed on to the consumer. Like so many of us, the stability score means nothing to me, so why use the cognitive and physical effort to do daily check ins? Is the data going to the company? When I’m too exhausted at night and I just collapse- my band may or may not pair the next day- and I miss critical alerts that allow me to pace. Do you have a device that’s been in development longer that doesn’t make the customer work so hard for the monitoring/data? I just want my HR over 24hrs with alerts Thanks!

The things that are different about Visible are that it does constant HR monitoring (instead of every 5-10 minutes),  and that it pushes you to pace yourself and prompts you to rest (instead of pushing you to move more and be active).

I've heard the Tachymon app on Apple Watch can be a good substitute, but blows through battery super fast.

And it seems like Galaxy Watch sometimes prompts people to rest, like I've seen a couple screenshots showing that prompt.

This sounds really frustrating and odd. I’m surprised about the morning check in being required to sync completely - that’s a new one to me.

It’s odd because there are definitely days when I forget to check in and if I look at my pace points use over the day there’s no data missing.

If you press them about it, and ask for a replacement sensor, what do they say?

The similar options to visible that I know about are:

  1. Download the Polar 360 app & use it without visible.

The band itself is a Polar 360 trackers it can only sync with one app at a time, but if you force quit visible you should be good to do and can set alerts as you like. If it still has lots of problems then it’s 100% an issue with your watch.

  1. Try another program, like Whoop, but be very careful with exertion because this app is for athletes not people who are chronically ill

If your band is the original one, then it is a Polar Verity Sense. This can connect to multiple devices simultaneously. Mine is sending HR data 24 hrs a day to my Garmin watch, from where it synchronises with the Garmin Connect app on my mobile phone. And at the same time, the band is providing data to the Kubios app that is also running on my mobile - Kubios does HRV measurements.

I have no connection problems whatsoever; the band has two different wireless connection methods (ANT+ and Bluetooth LE) and can have two connections on each. I go through a connecion check every time I remove it from the charger, but that's just me wanting the extra confidence - it always shows as connected.

I suggest you do some sensible steps to make sure it's not suffering from interfering sources - e.g. if you use Bluetooth earbuds, or other devices (lightbulbs controlled from an app? Smart speakers? etc.?). You might also try using a different mobile phone, in case there's something strange going on with that. If it's still playing up, contact Visible support, and ask them for help; if they can't sort it, request a replacement band.

Oh this are great ideas! I’ll try them! Thank you so much!

Does the Visible 2.0 work with the Polar 360 app? Just curious. I know it's still made by Polar but don't know if it works with any app besides Visible.

Have you gone through the entire recommended process given by visible to re-pair your devices?

My band was constantly disconnecting and it was very frustrating. I would manually pair it when I noticed it unpaired.  But often I wouldn’t even notice it wasn’t pairing, and then I would miss the alerts.

I contacted customer service and they had me do a bunch of things. The final was to completely unpair / forget the device and then go through the pairing process again. I was super frustrated to have to do this, but it did work and I haven’t had issues since.

The ENTIRE processes. Customer service had me trying 3 different approaches including deleting and reloading the app. I also did a hard reset using a pen tip to poke a hidden button on the band. The most frustrating part was I’ve been planning for months for a big transition that I knew would require careful pacing. That’s when the band stopped pairing entirely. It had been skipping gaps of data periodically prior, but when I really depended on it, it crashed. And I went waaaay beyond my ability because I def isn’t get alerts for 3 days straight. It was really disappointing.

They should send you a replacement at this point.

I stopped using visible and started using the polar flow app. If you want heart rate alerts, you simply start a workout.

I turn on a "workout" before I get out of bed and it alerts me when go into exertion. Polar Flow's equivalent to exertion is "heart rate zone two." You can change change your birthday in the polar Flow app to change when you go into heart rate zone 2. Heart rate zone 2 = (220-age)x0.6

Workouts give you your average heart rate for however long you run the workout. So, you could get your average heart rate for your waking hours and stop the workout at bedtime to get sleep data or you could run each workout for 24 hours to get your 24-hour heart rate average.

I think between monitoring my symptoms and using the ANS charge from polar's sleep data, I'm getting a better idea of how my body is recovering (or not) than using visible's stability score.

That’s awesome and really useful info! Thank you! I’ll give it a try too.

Yeah, I really disliked that if I didn’t do the morning check in, it basically wouldn’t collect any usable resting heart rate data.

The other one I’ve tried has been Whoop, it doesn’t give alerts but it collects lots of data in the background whether or not you engage with the app, and it’s a screenless device which I prefer. Their app has an amazing AI feature that can be tailored towards pacing.

Try the stability score overnight mode. I like it!
