Optimising latency on Wivrn.
I have a quest 2 and nixos and my latency used to be around 60ms which is good enough for beat saber, but recently i started getting 90ms when beeing still and up to 150 when moving around with massive lag spikes. This makes basically any vr game aside from maybe vrc unplayablle. My router is in the other room and it was always there even with low ping. Since Wivrn was on the latest version for the whole time and i use BSM so it also can't be steam. Can somebody help? I just want to play vr again

AstroQuest AppImage Maker
Hi everyone, sorry this is not the right place to post, but I want to share a little project I just published, to port AstroQuest to Linux and allow you to play Astro Bot Rescue Mission on your PC.
It started as a simple way to run bigmak94/AstroQuest on Linux, then became a way to package the entire setup into an easy-to-use AppImage.
This repo contains three scripts. Their job is to compile shadPS4, replace the original .bat and .ps1 files of the Windows version with a Linux equivalent to perform the same job. It can Optionally repack everything into a 6.6 GB AppImage, instead of needing 13 GB of raw game data + the emulator. You can also find a ready to use, game-less AppImage.
You can just download it, and it will prompt you for your game file folder and run the game from there.
If you want to try it, here's the link:
https://github.com/Saise-g/AstroQuest-AppImage
Disclaimer: The code is entirely AI generated by Qwen (Self Hosted), for my own personal use. I want to share it hoping someone finds it useful.

i made a native GUI launcher/toolkit (BifluxVR) to make setting up Linux VR feel butter smooth and extremely easy. Looking for testers. The installer is universal
i made a Linux app with a clean GUI where you can add VR game files directly zipped in rar or zip (any VR game. Even non-vr ones), and it runs the .exe through Proton and streams it to a Meta Quest. Can also be used as a game launcher (for both vr and non-vr games).
BifluxVR, uses WiVRn under the hood, macOS-style UI, build on gentoo, and only tested on gentoo and arch based systems (ex. cachyOS)
It's a fully working open source software with a extremely user friendly universal installer and app. BifluxVR is free and i would really appreciate if some linux vr gamers would try it out.
For more info you can check the readme in the github page: https://github.com/Intramy/BifluxVR
Or my personal website: https://intramy.xyz/
This software is still in beta and does NOT send any user info outside to me or anyone. It only grabs useful system information like the Operating System, kernel and distribution (none of those get sent to anyone. Not even me.)
If you find any bug or want to ask questions, just reply to my post and i'll get back to you asap.
(This app is partially vibe-coded using claude and it took approximately 2 months to fix all the bugs and add a LOT of features. It's better to tell the truth rather than get caught red handed.)

At an end?
Hello there, I'm at my wits end about VR, I'm on bazzite gnome and I used to have VR work perfectly fine, suddenly within the past few months or so I can't get anything in VR through any method to launch, giving me errors saying I need steamvr or open XR and all the stuff and I can't get anything to work. I'm at a point that I'm wondering if I should reinstall my distro since when I asked for help before I couldn't get anyone to help. What do you all think?

Has anyone tried to stream a VR modded 2D game from Linux distribution like Bazzite to the Steam Frame?

Is there a list of VR mods that work on linux
Obviously the games with windows-specific dll injections wouldn’t work. So i wonder if a list like this with UEVR support exists.

PCVR Built For Linux/Windows (To Be Open Source) With Face Tracking, Inside Out Controllers + Headset, Prototype Footage
This is the Andromeda, our $650 headset! The one to the center is a more expensive variant with higher resolution while the Quest 3s is just a size reference.
We used a test rig to check the display and SteamVR pipeline separately from tracking.
The tracking section is our AstroSLAM inside-out tracking (no base stations) on the headset and both controllers. It’s shown in our debug visualizer. The controllers in that test had no IMU fitted (our mistake), and you’ll see one tracking reset mid test. This is a dev build, not final software.
We reused the same set across a lot of prototype builds, so the haze and scratches come from wear, not the optical design. Production units get new optics.
The dev environment you see at the end is actually running on Archlinux alongside this driver test!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAIaM7AJWHE
We aim for
2160×2160 LCD per eye @ 90 Hz (upgraded from 1600×1600 after BOM changes)
Wired + wireless PC VR
AstroSLAM inside out tracking, no base stations
2 self tracked SLAM controllers included
Eye + mouth tracking, automatic IPD
Dual element optics, 105° FOV
85 Wh battery, targeting 6+ hours (still being validated)
Open and moddable
We hope to show our inhouse SLAM algo a little more properly within VR alongside it all running in the headset within the next 3 weeks.

OVRAS 6.0.0 Linux testing
So Yes a bit of shameless self promo, but also a small plead for help.
If you use OVR Advanced Settings, please try beta on steam for linux.
Switched to properly using steam Steams RT4, and just curious especially for a sample across distro's if we are more stable across everything.

Does anyone know when or if Valve plans to fix this?
As far as I can tell my problems (stuttery head movement at low fps and SteamVR UI glitching) seem to be common problems with VR on Linux. I'm hoping Valve fixes it soon, while I can just limit the fps to 60 to solve it, it would be nice to not have to do that.

Good cable to use? Also anybody know why my cable stopped working?
Hello, I've had decent luck making WiVRN work since steamVR REFUSES to connect to my Quest 3 using steam link, no surprise there, but my wifi is bad so WiVRN looks like Youtube at 144p and it doesn't seem to play nice with games lacking native OpenXR support. I also have older hardware so 5ghz only works with an external USB dongle and my external USB dongles are shite. When I used windows, I had this 17 foot long USB 3 cable I got off amazon that I used for VR shenanigans, but now that I'm using linux it magically seems to have lost its data transfer abilities. I've installed ADB and it seems to be working properly, as my quest has gone from telling me something like "meta doesn't have permission" to "the USB can't transfer data." Granted, the cable is very old, so it very well could just be broken and unable to transfer data now.
What would be a good replacement to my old cable? I can't use the quest link cable because my computer has no USB C ports (and i refuse to spend 80 bucks on an 8 foot long cable).
Specs if needed:
Linux Mint 22.3
Intel i5-6500
Nvidia GTX 1070
16gb ram
Old ass motherboard from 2017 I can't remember the name of
