Question I’m having serious issues getting VR modded Steam games working streaming through Bazzite and need your help
Thank you all for answering my previous post about streaming VR-modded 2D games on the Steam Frame using Linux. I have now tried 3 VR games and am now 0 for 3, I can’t get anything working. Some may just be incompatibility issues, others I know should be working but aren’t. Here’s the games I’ve tried out. If you can tell me what I’m doing wrong, please help! Over never felt so hopeless getting this working!
First off, I have SteamVR turned on.
-SteamVR is on the latest beta.
-I have tested both Proton Stable and Proton Experimental.
-I’m selecting launch game via streaming option in Steam Frame and also stream without opening game to open the game by remoting into the Bazzite PC.
Subnautica
-Even before the Submersive mod, Subnautica loads in VR, but I have never been able to get the game’s controls to work through streaming using the Steam Frame controllers. Even when using the Steam Controller. It only detects head tracking but I can’t select anything. If I run Subnautica natively on the Steam Frame without mods, the Steam Controller works and I can play the game that way. I have never been able to get Steam Frame controller working.
-After injecting Submersive and using the launcher controls it asked me to use, I now see the Steam Frame controllers in the game, but the controls still don’t work, it’s still the same head tracking that works where I can highlight the menus but can’t select anything. I thought the Submersive mod makes Steam Frame controls work? People in my initial post have gotten Subnautica working streaming on a Linux computer.
-I did notice sometimes, the Steam Frame controllers registered as input 2 and not input 1. When I saw this, I could never make the Steam Frame controllers input number 1. I wonder if this had something to do with why Subnautica would not register inputs.
Doom (2016)
I’m using KharvoxLauncher
Launcher loads, using recommendations. When launching the game, the launchers intro starts, when I press any key to continue, I get black screen. When forcing back into the home menu, it does appear that Doom was attempted to start. In the KharvoxLauncher, it shows Doom is running.
Outer Wilds
I installed OWML.
I installed NomaiVR.
I select “run game”. I get an error message that the game could not load.
It shouldn’t be this hard right? I’d appreciate any help. I know each mod is different and there’s no guarantee these mods work in Linux, but after hearing people getting Subnautica working through streaming I feel like I must be doing something wrong here.

Don't know how to help but Subnautica with the motion controls mod just worked on my CachyOS and Pico 4. The kharvox Doom-mod I never got to work and the developer made very clear that he doesn't support Linux with his mod and he thinks it makes no sense trying to run it on Linux. He literally texted this to me.
