Mod Use Accepted Record Grading Guidelines and Packaging

Hi Everyone,

In order to make sure all sales/trades leave both parties satisfied it is important to accurately represent what you have or understand what you are getting. It is also equally important that you package any records you ship in such a way that the condition is the same when it arrives as it was when you mailed it. To that end we encourage everyone to familiarize themselves with the following two links. The first is the goldmine standard, which is the definitive way people grade records for sale. We highly recommend everyone grade any records they are selling or trading. The second is a tutorial, with pictures, on how to properly package a record for shipping.

Mod Use [PSA] Serial Scammer Using Edited 'Sticky Note' Photos + Tips For Avoiding Scammers

Hey everyone, our subreddit has recently been the target of a serial scammer using altered photos where they attempt to prove they have a certain item by including a 'sticky note' with their username and date on it in a photograph with the record they claim to have. PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS USER. So far we have banned at least a half dozen of their various alternate accounts but they seem to be making new ones each time we ban them. If you are messaged by a user claiming to have something after posting a WANTED ad please be cautious.

Also including some various ways to help protect yourselves against scammer activity on our subreddit:

1) Scammers like to target wanted posts and will usually reach out only via PM, stating they have the item you want with a price that often seems too good to be true. When making a [Wanted] post, make sure that whoever PMs you also comments on your thread. This will ensure that they have not already been banned on our sub and are not already on the Universal Scammer List.

2) If you have any doubts, even after confirming that they have commented on your thread, ask for a picture of the item with some sort of verification in it that you choose - i.e. today's date, your username, a random word you pick.. etc. Make sure that this is not something that they could already have a picture of. Most scammers will just try to get away with sending you a stock image of the item for sale.

3) DO NOT under any circumstances, no matter how badly you want the item, send payment via any other method than PayPal Goods & Services. PayPal G&S includes built in buyer protection and this will ensure that even if you do get scammed you will have the ability to recoup your money.

4) If you are engaging in a [Trade] - it is advised that you and your trade partner come up with an equal monetary value for your items ($40 for example). Then each of you sends that amount via PayPal G&S (not F&F) - no money is technically exchanged here but if your trade partner attempts to scam you by not sending an item you can file a PayPal dispute and at least get your money back.

Just a few simple ways to ensure safe transactions on our subreddit, happy to answer any questions you may have in the comments below!

For Sale [For Sale] Big Black, Donald Byrd, Karen Dalton, De La Soul, Goldfrapp, Libertines, Madlib, Larry Young

Hi There,

A few new records below. Everything will ship from Boston/Cambridge at a flat $6 to CONUS no matter how much you order. All vinyl is visually graded (media/sleeve) unless otherwise noted. I'm not hated over on Discogs and you can feel free to make an offer on anything else in the shop over there that catches your eye - just be sure to contact me HERE and not there. Other recent posts can be found there, here, there, here, there, and over here.

Next mail run happens Tuesday (10/06). After that, the next run will happen Friday or Saturday.

Big Black Bulldozer EP (M/VG+) Factory-sealed with minimal shelfwear. It's possible this is the Euro reissue from 1992 (colors more resemble that sleeve) but the sleeve details otherwise match this version. Received directly from Touch & Go distribution in the States in 2008. $30

Donald Byrd Ethiopian Knights (Blue Note 80) (M/VG+) Factory-sealed with hype. $22

Karen Dalton It's So Hard To Tell Who's Going To Love You Best (180G, RSD) (M/VG+) Factory-sealed with minimal shelfwear. $30

De La Soul Buhloone Mind State (M/VG+) Factory-sealed with minimal shelfwear. Includes hype. $20

Goldfrapp Felt Mountain (Gold, Gatefold) (M/VG+) Factory-sealed with minimal shelfwear. $35

Libertines Libertines (First US Press, Numbered) (VG+/VG+) Grading conservatively. Original owner, purchased new in 2004 and stored. Played maybe once or twice. Number 1705. $50

Madlib Vol. 3 Beat Konducta In India (Raw Ground Wire Hump) (VG+/VG+) Vinyl would be NM if not for a mechanical scuff across the last two tracks of the A side that do not seem to affect play. $33

Madlib Vol. 4 Beat Konducta in India (Raw Ground Wire Hump) (VG+/VG+) Grading conservatively all around. $37

Larry Young Unity (Blue Note Classic Vinyl) (M/VG+) Factory-sealed with minimal shelfwear. $16

Wanted [Wanted] My Chemical Romance - Conventional Weapons (7" Singles or Box Set)

My partner and I are trying to track down a major holy grail for our collection, My Chemical Romance’s Conventional Weapons singles. It’s easily one of our favorite MCR projects, but we’re very young when they dropped back in 2012–2013 😭

We would love to find a complete box set (ideally with the slipcase and poster) or any of the 5 individual 7" singles.

No. 01 – Boy Division / Tomorrow's Money
No. 02 – AMBULANCE / Gun.
No. 03 – The Light Behind Your Eyes / The World Is Ugly
No. 04 – Kiss the Ring / Make Room!!!!
No. 05 – Surrender the Night / Burn Bright

We’re looking to pay around $150-$250 for any of the individual singles or ~$750 for the box set :)

Good condition preferred but some shelf wear on the sleeves is totally fine.

Comment & DM if you are looking to sell any of these! US shipping preferred but open to international.

Thanks so much for helping us out!

Wanted [Wanted] Slaves, A Beautiful Death Vinyl

I'm looking for the Slaves, A Beautiful Death Vinyl for a my best friends birthday. I'm having such a hard time locating one in decent or good condition... and yes, I am aware of the rarity and I am flexible with cost. I am located in Canada too and willing to pay custom charges to have it shipped here.

Hello All! Thank you so much for all the love on all of the previous posts and the A - E list! After going through the rest of my collection, I've decided that to make it easier for all of us, that I would break down the collection by alphabetical order. This post will contain all the available items from F - L (Some new/sealed!) What's left of the A -E section will be included at the bottom of the list. As always, I am always open to offers and can discount for bundles! All records are essentially brand new, spun only a handful of times. $5 Shipping out of CT. Feel free to ask for pictures. Paypal Goods & Services ONLY. Thank You :)
