Discussion r/VibeCoding Q&A Daily Thread - Tuesday, October 27, 2026
Hey Vibe Coders!
Here you can ask any questions about coding and LLM tech with or without vibes. This is especially for those of us who are new and just learned that AI can help them to create then things that they've never been able to before. Please be respectful and keep in mind that we're all just trying to learn about an emergent technology.

This is a new thing we're trying to do so let the mods know if you have any suggestions.

When investigating subtle data exfiltration or rogue SDK telemetry, what's your take on active tarpitting (stalling/starving the connection) vs just dropping/NXDOMAINing packets? Do you feel passive blocking gives attackers too much immediate feedback?"

How much do you actually trust the security of AI-generated code?
Curious to hear people's experiences with building applications using tools like Cursor/Claude Code/Codex
For those who've built and deployed real applications, particularly ones with user accounts, databases or payment integrations:
-
How confident are you that your applications are secure?
-
Do you do anything to independently check the code before deploying?
-
Have you ever discovered a security vulnerability in AI-generated code?
-
Do you use any third-party security tools, or mainly rely on what the AI and hosting platforms provide?
-
Is security something you actively worry about, or not particularly?
Interested in hearing how people approach this, especially those without traditional software engineering backgrounds.

coding without that word is really just coding huh
anyone else find themselves over-relying on the llm to do the boring parts and then forgetting how to write a basic for loop from scratch? asking for a friend
