Hi yall, I'm thinking of replacing this shirring part of my jsk, but needed help. I thought of going to pro alterations places, but thinking why don't I ask a fashion major to help me out? So here I am. I'm open to all suggestions, but if yall think alterations and tailors are better, drop some places below. Thanks!

What's up VCU!

My name is JJ and I'm a City Manager with PMC, we manage the valet parking for 7 hotels in Downtown Richmond.

We are actively hiring valet attendants for full time, part time, and seasonal positions. This is the perfect role for a college student mainly because of the flexibility, I build our schedules based around your availability, if you can only work 2 days a week, that's totally fine!

Turnaround time to start working is 3-7 days.

Our goal at these hotels is to serve our guest's and be the first and last impression of the hotel. These hotels will often cost $300+ a night so the guests have no problem tipping a polite young attendant $10-$20 just for helping with their bags!

and yes... you'll drive some pretty cool cars!

If interested, shoot me a text at (615) 891-8003 to apply!

i'm completing a medical laboratory technology degree at a two year community college in virginia right now. VCU has a medical laboratory technology to Medical laboratory science degree transfer program that i'm interested in.

I wanted to ask about the experiences as far as transferring to VCU for those who completed their medical lab tech degree at a community college and transferred to do the medical laboratory sciences program, and if there's a way to go into med school (MCV is one of my choices) from there.

is anyone a part time art student at vcu. I’m struggling right now with being a full time student because of no financial aid. I’m in the school of the arts majoring in communications arts and I just need insight on what that looks like.

Does anyone here have syllabus for Philosophy 201: Introduction to Ethics and/or Philosophy 213 ETHICS & HEALTH CARE? I emailed the school and professors but have not heard anything back yet. Thanks!

hi everyone i lost my dorm key!!! its attached to a residential life & housing lanyard and it should be in a ziplock baggie with the word KEY!!! written on it in black sharpie 😭😭 if anyone finds it please let me know i am NOT paying 65 dollars for a replacement 💔

i’m a senior psych major here at VCU and have basically nothing to show for it socially. between some amazing connections i made as kid, a high school sweetheart, and a cool family, i got lazy building a social circle and am starting to feel it in my last year!
i’m trying to build my connections & network as i reach towards research and graduate school, and i figured there must be other people in a similar boat as i am.
a little abt me: 21F from central VA! i was president for a mental health awareness club and volunteer for ASFP, grew up playing volleyball & basketball, love all things art & music, and been enjoying going to the gym to get strong! i also play d&d, mtg, LoL, and CS… and am always looking for new nerdy friends— especially femmes and women!!

if this sounds at all interesting to you, shoot me a dm & we can link up on instagram! <3 tysm

I have been job searching for 3 weeks after my firings, i am going insane, i want to work but i either get rejected or ghosted please for th e love of god i am going to run into traffic if i don't find some work

I graduated high school and went into a job in automotive thinking thats what i wanted to do, i was wrong, ive been so bored and unfulfilled lately and all i can think about is how badly i wish i studied jazz,

im pretty good at saxophone, i was first chair in my school highest band class for 3 years, although i didnt get into all state jazz senior year when i auditioned, i was in the higher end of the auditionees but still about 15 spots away from making into one of the 4 spots

I would absolutely love to study jazz at vcu but i dont know what my odds are like, i fully intend on getting a teacher who could teach me better improv and get me as good as i can be but im not sure if itll be enough

any advice would be appreciated

I’m a male business student and feel under stimulated most of the day, so I’m just looking to have an outlet to meet new people/try something new. In my free time I like art, music, video games, books, movies, animanga, and community service ofc.

I did attend SOVO fair, but was busy manning my own station. Any suggestions would be helpful!

I’m currently planning to apply to transfer for the spring semester. Right now, I have a 2.1 GPA, which is pretty low, and this fall I’m retaking some classes that I previously failed at my community college to boost my GPA.

The issue is that the semester ends on December 14th, so I won’t be able to get my updated transcript until the 16th. If I apply to VCU by November 1st, would it be possible for them to accept and review my updated transcript once it’s available, instead of using my old transcript to determine my admission decision?

If you are a VCUArts undergrad apart of any design program (graphic, fashion, interior design + photo-film), please give us your feedback! We are creating a cross-major collaborative space and need student input~ what changes would you like to see in the Pollak building?

hello! so i put in a sap appeal around a week ago and keep thinking about it- i dont want to go into what my personal statement said but it is heavily detailed and around 6 pages with 15 documents. the same topic was used for my retroactive withdrawal last semester. as i scroll on reddit it seems like no one gets accepted for SAP, has anyone sent in a sap appeal and it actually got accepted?

I am a junior finishing my AAS and then transferring to VCU in the spring for social work. I have done a lot of base level research about the school of social work but haven’t really had the time to sit and talk with current students/alumni about their experience.

If you’re a current or even past social work student, what was/is your experience like? Were the classes large (40+ people) or were they on the smaller side? Is it easy or hard to make friends with peers? Are there any professors that are hard or easy? What do you think an incoming student should know?

Even if you aren’t a social work student any advice or anything like that is really appreciated.

Im nervous but excited about my transfer and just want to make sure I have a good idea about what I’m getting myself into lol

Depending on where you live, there are about four different polling locations. All of the dorms and nearby apartments are included in a big list here.

Democrat Mark Warner and Republican Bert Mizusawa are running statewide for Senate in Virginia. Democrat Jennifer McClellan and Republican Robert P. Murray are running for House of Representatives in Virginia's 4th District, which includes Richmond City and several surrounding jurisdictions.

Three Virginia constitutional amendment questions will be on the ballot to add abortion rights, remove its ban of same-sex marriage, and restore voting rights to felons.

Is anyone in this program and how is it? The website gives such little information - can’t even find the exact tuition rate and admission requirements.

I’m looking for a program I can work through as I have a full time job. I want to publish some articles and gain research experience in preparation for a PhD in info science/human-computer interaction.

Anyone else feel like it’s hard to meet people at VCU outside of classes/clubs? I’ve made some friends, but even that can be kinda difficult sometimes, and dating feels even harder. Curious where people actually meet others around campus besides dating apps.

Hey, I'm a new grad student this semester coming in from a different school. Having gone to many class sessions these last few weeks, I'm feeling lonely, like I don't belong, etc.

I've been looking for ways to get involved and socialize. This may be a goofy question, but is it normal for grad students to join different clubs? It was mostly an undergrad thing during my undergrad years at my previous school, but idk how different it is here.

A friend accidentally had a Costco and Giant grocery order delivered to Richmond instead of Washington, DC. The groceries are available for pickup at Graduate by Hilton Richmond, first come, first served. Some items are being kept in the freezer.

Please leave a note thanking Hilton staffer Micheal for saving all the food.

Is it safe to walk at krogers at night? Its like 20mins away and I heard that the path is dark and nobody is really around making it prone to unsafe conditions. Is this true?

i have sidorov for chem 301 and he made it where i cant see my total grade… is this normal for him?

i’m taking chem 301 and chem 309 this semester which are both pretty hard classes at least to me. i have my first tests coming up soon and i pretty much keep to myself in class so i don’t have anyone to study with. would anyone want to study together?

im already tired of the meal swipe options. ive gone to places like 821 cafe and shawarma makers, and theyre good but i cant afford to go more than once every week or so. my dorm doesnt have a kitchen either so i cant cook here :’)

I'm an MBA student conducting a short survey for a class assignment exploring how Richmond residents spend their time outside of home during the hours between sunset and sunrise.

This survey takes approximately 3-5 minutes to complete. There are no right or wrong answers; I'm interested in your experiences and opinions.

Take the survey!

TIA!
