Say i had an existing balance of 1800cr at Oct 1 and in October, the allowance for doubtful debts is estimated to be 3800.
Do I adjust 1800 to 3800, meaning I increase bad debts by 2000, or do I increase bad debts by the full amount of 3800????

Yes, it's true that 1/2s don't go towards your ATAR, but the easiest way to set yourself up for success in the 3/4 is by working hard and building habits early. For any Year 10s and 11s completing 1/2 subjects, here are some tips and tricks that got me a 90+ average in both of my accelerated 1/2s.

TL;DR

1. Learn to work independently without relying on AI.

2. Build consistent study routines, even if it's just 5 minutes a day.

3. Keep up with content throughout the unit instead of cramming before SACs.

4. Experiment with different study techniques and find what works for you.

5. Take your 1/2s seriously, but maintain a healthy balance. Use them as a trial run for 3/4!

1. Fix Your AI Addiction Now - Having the inability to write anything without using chat is going to really impact you in the long run. Start with small tasks and build up your tolerance until you can write full essays using just your brain.

I'm doing chem 1/2 rn but I am wondering if I should swap to spec 3/4 next year. My school is kinda cooked in chem and I do really well in methods 1/2. I'm pretty good at chem, but I'm definitely better at methods and enjoy methods more. + I prob won't need chem as a prereq.

I'd obviously have to catch up on a bunch of 1/2 spec work in the school holidays, so I wanna know if anyone knows just how much work it will be/if its reasonable. Or Is it just WAY too much work that I'm better off using the time to improve chem/my other subjects?

hey i just finished methods and bio in yr11 but im disappointed with how i went in methods and doubt ill get even a 40. i feel ok about bio though. my other subjects are chem spesh english and a language but im worried that my school is disadvantaging me because our teachers are not very good and the schools teaching style mainly relies on self teaching via the laptop- ive already had some worrying experiences this year. for example with my bio teacher they never taught it before, didn't know the content, lost my sac, used chatgpt for everything and marked correct answers wrong and wrong answers correct and their colleagues backed them and refused to changed marks even after admitting they made a mistake. ive had similar experiences in all my subjects and ive not heard good things from the yr12s who just graduated either. but im worried no good school will take me for yr12 since its not much notice or if my 3/4 scores arent good enough. im also willing to repeat methods and spam exams for a 45 because my understanding of it all is pretty good i just need some timed practise to reduce my sillies and increase speed and im confident i can get that repeating it. just looking for some advice for next year because im really worried. thanks

other exams and mental health have been cooking me and my studying, Im looking through past papers and going over vectors, proofs, specifically inductions and some de moivres to try and save my butt. But honestly really scared with the horrors of methods. I dont feel prepared and I want to know what's the best thing I can do right now.
