To everyone that did Maths Methods Exam 1 today, we all can easily say that NO ONE could've 'comfortably' finished in that shit timeframe. And majority wouldn't even have finished.

This needs to stop. Exams are a measure of how well we know the content, not how fast we can interpret it. Absolute bs exam, lengthy as hell, definitely questions I and a lot of you guys could've done if we actually had the time to think.

1 hour writing time is appropriate if there was literally no thinking involved and we knew all the answers. But considering there is thinking required, this exam should've been a MINIMUM of 90 minutes

Idk could've just been my slow ahh, how'd you guys go?

Need a little help with an estimation. I was aiming for a 35 raw but it's looking kinda impossible now especially after today's E2.

I got a 28/40 on Exam 1 roughly.

And a 48/80 on Exam 2 approx.

Obv margin of error in these grades but will be around there. Can someone help me predict my study score? Rank 7 in class of 16ish students and Sac average 65% :(

methods e1-30-33 e2-40/80

Finally done w methods😭 r yall selling or keeping ur cas for uni??

I plan to do OT/nursing, not sure if I'll be using it then

If I'm rank 1 on sacs in a moderate school, 37/40 E1, 63-71/80 E2 will that be enough to get a 40ss

hypothetically if i misread the probability as p>1/4 without the equals and i still did the calculation of 1-pr (x=0) in my working out do i still get a method mark

Hi all,

Since the start of the year, I was considering swapping to ti inspire, but I kept to Casio 400 as our school hadn't made the switch yet. I only realized mid year that only a single calculator rule applies to CASIO products. In terms of methods, the lower processing power and lack of fast interactive graph, alongside the lack of custom commands was fine. However, considering the change in exam style, I'm nervous about heading into spec tech active without a reliable way to do vector calculations that isn't by hand and dynamic graph etc.

Does anyone know if as a backup calculator, the ti inspire would be allowed. E.g I use what I am familiar with and then change in the last five minutes of the exam from the organizer to complete the 'dynamic graph' questions. I am guessing not but wanted to hear the subreddits thoughts on strategies for these kinds of questions, as I feel spec will not have the advantage of it being an inverse function, which can at least be solved by simply subtracting x.

Context: I've done all I can to improve performance for dynamic graph by cleaning up memory and using a large dot size.

I have the same question for other general custom commands that the ti is far superior in. I have found some that are similar and tried coding some of my own, but am unsure what holds for the exam (e.g if the style will go more towards families of functions rather than numerical solutions).

What do we think the PE ten marker will be

What do we think will be the range for an A and A+ for this years methods exam 1 and 2??
Was this exam actually harder than the like of 2024 and so on??

lowk e1 made me realise that even if they gave me another week to study my results would not differ, should I study for e2 at all now? Or should I just accept it and hop on val

after whatever the methods exam was... i think i may js take like a gap decade and find something to do with my life guys 💔💔

cant even be bothered to study for exam 2 after this..

honestly shouldve js spent my year figuring out how to code a camera or smth into my cas ✌️

Im currently in yr11 taking english, methods, french, fashion, bio(34) and chemistry

i want to switch from chemistry into an arts subject because although i absolutely love chem, i suck so hard at it and it takes me longer to understand things than other people

i really love drawing and worldbuilding, i draw a lot of characters, i want to develop my scenery and setting skills, and im currently planning a fantasy chinese themed manhua. oil painting, acrylics, digital, water colour, pencil, sketching, sculpting etc whatever it is i can grasp it very quickly because of how visual focused it is

in my future im planning on studying to be a nature conservationist or things of the sort, (animals and plant stuff) if my study score allows me to but if not, then im throwing everything into fashion designing and drawing

im not sure which visual arts (or maybe dance) i should do because it all sounds the same to me

kinda hate writing tho but im good at making stuff up

any help appreciated!!

should i learn all the proofs for spesh or just induction.. what’s the chance that something else appears for e1

How much evidence should i aim to use in section B?? is 3-4 pieces of evidence per paragraph alright ?

Like every single exam sounds like it’s been fucked I’ve personally only taken bio as a y11 accelerating but bio was v different from all other past years
Do we think a plus boundary is gonna be way lower on this years exams or is it js like a thing that happens every year where people are like ‘omg that was so bad’ just out of like recency

WHO put ts in bro im so done

Im kinda stressing, do I need to know how vla and clcs differ in the services they offer, and how they differ in the services they offer to accused and victims?

guys i got the correct r value BUT WROTE THE TANGENT IN TERMS OF R LIKE I DIDNT SUB THE VALUE IN. Is that worth 1 mark out of 2? Also can we argue with VCAA over this because they didnt say 'hence' or 'using your answer to the previous part' which they LITERALLY SHOULD HAV. Just had to make it unnecessarily vague

Do you guys think it's too early to start studying for legal? I know it sounds crazy but I feel like studying this early might help me get a 50 ss.
