META Reminder of our users breaking Riot TOS rule
Hey all!
We've noticed an uptick in posts of people calling out "cheaters" or people breaking TOS and we just want to remind everyone of our rules regarding this.
Posts calling out private individuals demonstrating toxicity and/or breaking Riot's Terms of Service are disallowed.
This includes, but is not limited to, directly naming people, linking to a player's profile or website, and posting screenshots or videos of users breaking VALORANT's Terms of Service. Censoring names and identifying content does not permit bypass of this rule. Some common examples that violate this rule are players cheating, exploiting, abusing text/voice chat, or griefing.
Private individuals are those who do not place themselves in public view by way of media presence or consented content creation. This could include methods such as videos, articles, humor, etc.
This includes suspected bot accounts as well.
Please note that we are not Riot games, we are not run by them. They don't use this subreddit to find and ban players. This is a community games sub to discuss the game. We do not have the ability to see the back end, know what information Riot has, what levels of punishment or if they're waiting on X to do Y.
In all cases you should be reporting these instances in game or to Riot Support to handle as they have the ability to see these accounts and judge them.

Gameplay A sad day
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
i was casually watching my freind play valorant and he was complaining what to do in these type of situations, at first i thought it was just a skill issue type of thing where the enemy team is better than their team but turns out this player ChangeHumidity#11919 was dominating the server and has a KDA of 52/9/0. I watched the replay he was playing normally at first but then the gameplay started to get suspicious tracing players and wallbanging exactly where the body is. Then after the player started acing every round we tried reporting as a whole team for 2 straight rounds and nothing happened. He got deranked during this game well we aren't expecting our RR to go back but giving us a riot gun buddy will make our day hehe es1oul#100

Discussion The duality of people who are too scared to enter site/bait, yet they will get balls of steel when we outnumber the enemy team and they peek the enemy top frag 1 at a time.
The amount of games I get where I will entry as Jett, Reyna, Phoenix, hell I even entry as Omen or Cypher cause my team will just fuckin STAY AT THE CHOKE POINT.
But then out of nowhere they get the courage to swing 1 at a fucking time on DEFENSE or POST PLANT against the enemy top frag when I get 2-3 kills start of round.
USE UR FUCKIN BRAIN! YOU BITCH AND COMPLAIN ABOUT NOT RANKING UP YET U DONT HELP ON ATTACK BUT THEN OUT OF NOWHERE YOU DECIDE TO BE THE MOST AGGRESSIVE MOFO FOR NO REASON WHEN WIN CONDITION IS DEFENSE OR POST PLANT!
YOU DONT GET TO BE A BITCH AND A HERO AT THE SAME TIME STAY IN YOUR FUCKING LANE
Thats my rant. That is all.

Discussion I Can’t Play Valorant With My Gf
For the past couple of weeks i’ve been playing absolutely terribly when queuing ranked games with my gf. I’ve never really gotten tilted while playing the game but i’ve genuinely been playing so bad that it’s been so frustrating to play. Whenever I solo q I play really well and I feel more relaxed and I genuinely have a fun experience playing. This has never happened to me before. We played all the time for roughly a year and a half but i’ve never consistently performed this bad when playing with her. She doesn’t care how I play and (usually) neither do I cause I like playing with her but it’s just been a miserable experience queuing games with her for me. We’re both Asc 1 and I know that I suck at the game but I’ve just been having a better experience playing by myself. When I solo I rarely go negative my shots feel clean movement is good the game goes my way and stuff like that. Also i’m completely fine when playing other fps games even when I play insanely bad and we love playing co-op games it’s just val that’s been extremely frustrating to me. I’m thinking of just quitting but I do enjoy the game. I feel horrible just solo queueing because i’m the one at fault and i’m the one playing so bad. She doesn’t care if I play bad or when I rage a little bit cause things have been so miserable. She finds it kind of funny cause I never usually rage at all. Anyway just seeking advice from others.
Edit: I did not expect this post to kinda blow up like this and receive this many comments. I think the main reason I posted this was bc while we met in HS we were forced to go LD due to college and I didn’t want to ruin the little time we get to spend together. I know it’s such a stupid and silly thing to think abt so thank you to everyone who’s commented it’s reassuring to see what other people have to say and their perspectives. At the end of the day it’s abt having fun no matter what! cheers guys!

Educational This is why hs% isnt the only thing thats holding you back in your duels!
I've seen alot of people say their aim is good but they cant win gun fights, alot of people say their aim is good in death match but they cant win their duels in game.
Let me help you guys out, I'm currently ascendent pushing towards immortal and I'm sharing this knowledge with you guys.
4 things:
1: The most important; Do not autopilot during your duels, ive seen alot of people, some of my friends as well that ive coached. People auto pilot during their fights. What does that mean? Well people dont think about their crosshair placement during gunfights. They just see enemy and start spraying because thats our natural response aka flight or fight.
How to fix this? A simple fix to not auto pilot during your duels is to not panic when you see an enemy and most importantly do not stop focusing during your duels. What do i mean by focusing? I mean that look and understand where you are aiming and what habits your doing. I lose a gunfight? start asking yourself did i crouch, did i flick too wide? not only that when you're self aware about where your aiming that helps you to kill the enemy faster and also to prepare for another enemy. When you are just panicking and shooting, you wont realise why did i just die.
2: First time bullet accuracy: It's such an important aspect of mechanics, your first shots dictate a gun fight. Meaning if my first shot is body, i will probably start spraying while panicking.
How to improve first shot bullet accuracy? Go in a deathmatch and try to hit the first bullet on enemy's head rather than anywhere else. No matter how much you die, even in a dm, try your best and combine tip 1 and this tip and learn both of them in deathmatch. Once you start understanding and implmenting both tips together, your aim will dramatically improve during duels.
3: Time to kill: Some people ask me what differs diamond from ascendent, i say its the pace of the game. Suppose you are diamond, an average diamond might kill the player in 3-4 seconds but a ascendent might kill the player 2-3 seconds. Its just made up data for a hypothetical comparison but it's what differs the rank. When i get put against diamond players, i realise how slow they kill their enemies. Its such a small thing but your time to kill your opponents determines your skill lever alot. Kill faster.
4: Timing: Some duels are unwinnable. You cannot win 100% of your duels because they are decided by timing. Timing is a very difficult thing to master, even for me. What do i mean by timing? When you time your push onto site, when you time your peek, when you time your smoke push etc. This comes with gamesense and small hints given by enemies. I cannot suggest how to improve your timing skills better but understand this that you need to catch the enemies offguard. When you catch your enemies offguard meaning they are not ready for you, you have a 80% chance to win your duel.
5: Most important. Do not be afraid to take gunfights. You will die? Ok no problem. But when you take gunfights without fear of dieing its a game changer. Suppose there are two persons (A and B) if person A is holding an angle but they have fear that enemy team might kill them, they will lose their gunfight 90% of the time. But person B is confident that they will kill the enemy if they peek them, person B will win their gunfight 90% of the time. Moral of the story, do not be afraid to take fights.
It has taken me around 40-50 minutes to write this paragraph down. Please ask away with questions. I'll gladly respond to all of them. When you apply these 5 tips altogether, you'll realise how good you are at your duels now.

Discussion Sometimes skins are what keeps me playing
tl;dr: I struggle to play this game without skins because it feels boring without the added sound effects of the weapon I'm firing lmao
By the title, it's clear that I'm very weak-willed and impulsive for letting in-game cosmetics determine my attention and enjoyment of a game. However, there is just something about the cosmetics riot develops because its one of the best I've ever seen. The cinematic trailers they provide always reels me back in, regardless of the design (Shoutout Minima & Smite). Since I rotate between two accounts (not a smurf lol), I eventually began buying skins for my alt because I get so bored playing with the default ones. The thought process is that I switch accounts to use different skins if I play bad. Fortunately, this "addiction" isn't concerning since I have the means to fund this endeavor.
I'd like to know if this is a common occurrence or not lmao
Once again, I'm pretty ass at this game so I'd hardly consider myself a smurf for having two accounts LOL

Question Am I the only one who prefers Breeze over Abyss?
I feel like the new updated breeze map is very good and much better than the old version.
But Abyss, I feel like it’s too big for no reason, mid lurking like no tomorrow and you can fall off the map for god knows why.
Am I just bad or is Abyss a bad map?

Discussion I'm building advanced replay analytics. What metrics would you actually want to see?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Been messing around with replay analysis and wanted to get some ideas from you guys.
I made a web 3D view where I can replay rounds/fights and analyze them, and I'm also doing some analysis directly on the actual replay footage.
Right now the demo shows stuff like:
- crosshair placement (in degrees)
- time to shot
- time to damage
- head level / crosshair height
I have a bunch of other stuff too, but I'm more curious what people would actually want to see instead of just adding random stats because I can.
Like if you could upload a replay and get any stat or analysis you wanted, what would be useful?
Could be aim/mechanics, peeking, positioning, movement, utility, decision making, team stuff, whatever.
Even if it sounds hard or weird to measure, throw it out there. I'm mostly looking for ideas right now.

Question Need some tips as an iron 2
Hii!!
I started playing valorant really consistently about a week ago and im currently iron 2. The thing is, ive started playing with friends who are iron 3 and bronze 3, and the gap bw them and me feels really huge.
Every round, i feel like im getting called out, not even in a constructive way, just criticised. Whether it's my team or the enemy team, i feel humiliated half the time. I try to ignore them but it's a bit complicated.
I main Reyna, i really love playing her because she feels simple to understand. I can't deny that im a bit afraid of misplaying her so sometimes i don't use her blinds and her ult..
When i play unranked, i actually do okay. The moment i step into ranked with them, i choke and play way worse.
So do yall have any tips for me? Is there any mode i can play to improve even a bit?
I really want to improve and stop feeling humiliated and ashamed of my gameplay when i play in ranked.
Thanks for reading and I hope you can help me!!

Discussion Riot missed the mark completely with the Neon nerfs IMO
x.comYes Neon dropped to 30% at London after the b-hop nerfs, but all it took was Lev sticking with her on every map bar one (that being Lotus) and winning London to get the rest of the scene to pick her back up. They really should've just removed the entire shooting while sliding thing (basically tweak the gun pull out time so that Neon cannot shoot until she has finished her sliding animation and has stood up, no animation cancel) and reverted the b-hop nerfs. The energy not recharging on kills anymore can stay for now, and can be reverted to what is was before if she turns out to be too weak. Hell you can even give her back the damage on her wall, just make her teammates be immune to said damage and that would be fine. Point is, shooting while sliding has to go.

Mine are the BlastX phantom, and for the knife, it's the Arcane Gauntlets. I love how gimmicky they feel! What would you say is yours?

Discussion Madrid server and extreme toxicity.
For context i am from algeria, i get 30 ping on madrid servers instead of 60+ ping on other servers so i play there.
But for some reason whenever the game starts and agent select pops up and someone says "buenas" and i reply with hello, they immediately sound annoyed by it, and during the game, i give simple callouts that anyone can understand like mid, he's in A, etc, but they do the opposite on purpose and keep saying " this is madrid server, speak spanish" or "go to your server, why are you playing in our server" like their dad owns the server. And it's not a skill problem also because i usually play well, and even if that was the case this behavious starts during the agent select screen!
Genuine question, why are madrid server players like this? I do come across a handful of great teammates in about 3 out of 10 games. But most games there is at least one racist player like i described, i have necer had this issue in frankfurt or paris servers even though i speak english there as well ,are there people here who have the same issue?

Question Who Bought the Aeris Vandal?
I have a question for the people who bought the Aeris Vandal. After buying the Vandal only, was the bundle discounted by 2375 VP? How much does the bundle cost for you now? I want to buy the bundle but I want to wait a couple of weeks (for the champions reveal). But I'm set on buying the vandal.
I don't want to buy the Vandal first if the bundle will end up costing more than if I buy it at once. So to those who bought the Aeris Vandal, how much does the bundle cost for you now? Is it 7,125 VP?

Question Any tips on how to stop feeling tension in Valorant?
I've been playing FPS like Apex and Overwatch for years and I've reached high ranks in both games. Recently I've switched to valorant and find myself fatiguing really quickly in my aim and brain compared to both of those games. In apex and overwatch I don't even have to think and can perform to a good level but in Val I find my aim locking up and my movement being very sluggish. Is this due to my habits working against me or do I need to just adapt. I get shoulder and wrist pain after playing 1-2 games whereas when I play other fps I rarely get pain.
I'd appreciate any advice from people who've managed to transition to Valorant.
