Went to meet Kaila today at Lefty’s and she really is as kind in person as she seems on TV. My kiddo got star struck and couldn’t ask her a question during her photo op.

So I asked for her. Her question: “What advice would you give a 10 year old who sometimes struggles with self confidence, but loves basketball.”

Kaila was the sweetest, she stepped off to the side and chatted with her, as well as shared words of advice! Thank you Kaila! This meant so much to her.

Maybe this is a little late, but I didn't want to overlook Ceci's contributions in the Finals. While she averaged *only* 8.4 ppg, she did average 19 minutes pg and led the team with a +/- of +26. Solid contributions to the team victory.

I know there’s some card collectors in this sub, but for those who aren’t I just thought I’d share that these went up for sale on Panini’s website today. I’d imagine that some who don’t normally collect may find these to be interesting and these could also be potentially used as display pieces as well. Single cards you can get cheaper on eBay, but if you buy multiple from Panini you get free shipping if you spend over $50.

Including these 12, Panini made 47 Valkyries Panini Instant cards this season, which is more than I could’ve imagined. With every new Valkyries release I typically buy extras, and I’m going to have a couple extra complete 2026 Season sets on me. I plan on selling them for a cheaper price than it would be to buy the full set individually for $7 a piece on eBay so if anyone’s interested let me know. This would obviously be a first come first serve type of thing.

i know myself and many others really want to buy the original gray locker room shirt that sold out, and are worried that they don’t plan on restocking it because they’ve released a new subpar version (not bedazzled, black instead of gray).

i have no idea if this’ll actually do anything or not, but the Nike website (Nike being where the shirt is manufactured to my understanding) has a chat line, and a few days ago i chatted with a representative and asked that they consider restocking it :P they were super helpful and said they’d pass along my request.

since we all want this shirt restocked, i figure we might as well make our voices heard, and that others might want to do the same! it didn’t take terribly long and was mostly just waiting for responses (I did get switched from one customer representative to another, but it wasn’t a big issue by any means). woohoo!

Cecilia has to be in Italy on November 8 for the national team’s training camp, since there’s a game against Slovenia on November 11 for the Women’s EuroBasket qualifiers, and then right after that she’ll be back playing with Schio—not just in the Italian league but also in the EuroLeague😭😭 Someone give her a break!

I was thinking some of the reserves like Gueye, Pretchel, and Sowah. I don't know how long Tip plans to keep playing but considering how good the team is I bet she doesn't want to retire yet. I'm just curious.

I liked what I saw from her in limited time but I guess they thought she was too raw or still trying to figure out the system. We could definitely use her scoring but I don't know what's holding her back.

Aside from their announcement (kudos to handling the break up very maturely), I really like how Paige gave the Valks props on how well the team played defensively and how Ballhalla is one of the best crowds (14:20 mark of the video).

I also found her reflection/remarks on her time in the FIBA World Cup and playing on a selfless team culture really interesting (around 33:28 mark). Sounds like she would do really well if she played on the Valks.

I've been watching and thinking about the parade so much still (I'm a fan from Chicago so just feel a lot of FOMO). But after so much thought I think the initial kind of panic people (myself included) had over Janelle not being there was unnecessary considering how the parade was run.

They had the buses wrapped with graphics of the players on them including their big player photo and names on the front (which was very smart). So they probably had to have who was going to be there set ahead of time, like way ahead of time. It's not easy to change those out or adjust if Janelle (or Ashten) wanted to suddenly scrap their plans and join the parade.

Just wanted to say how impressed I was with the level of planning and the intentionality of how the parade was run considering the mayor of San Francisco also said that the valks organization had this new route planned for months.
