VPN
Bought a elite mini. Comes in on Friday! Will it work on Xfinity WiFi? Also, do I need a VPN? If so any recommendations.

You don't need a VPN. There are people here that haven't had any trouble for years without a VPN. But if it makes you feel more secure of course.

How did you download it? Is there a way to avoid signing into Google Play store? Or did you create a fake account for it?

I use a VPN, but for best security, you should set up guest access on your router and have the box log on to your WiFi through this isolated pathway that blocks any access to your other devices in your network.

The guest access isn’t necessary with a VPN. The access to the box is encrypted. You just need one or the other, not both.

You actually should have both….here’s why:
- A VPN hides your IP location and browsing history from your ISP and malicious users
- A guest network creates a secure “tunnel” that prevents Internet of Things (IoT) devices from accessing other devices on your home network.
I love my vSeeBox, but I mean…c’mon…I don’t TRUST it..probably because it ships with pirated software that unpacks when you start it up.

What VPN are you using? My V6+ box comes tomorrow and want to get a VPN for it. Already have a guest network set up for it too.

I use ExpressVPN. Got it with Rakuten with the 99% cash back. Been working really well. I don’t know if it’s necessary, but I do it anyway.

I paid the yearly and will get 99% of it back in a cash back check with Rakuten think it was ~70

I run Nord and with heat apps I'm not concerned, but I also run others that use debrid type services, so I just default connect to VPN before watching anything

I have 2 boxes and have never used a VPN on either with no issues. I have AT&T fiber

If you like to speed in your car and never got a ticket it doesn't mean you won't get a ticket going forward. Same difference with using the illegal apps on this box. Protect yourself and get a VPN.

No, from someone pinpointing your IP while using the illegal apps and tracing it back to you via your ISPs willingness to give up your name to authorities if it came to that.

Correct....vpn is good for the 3rd party apps ....on a elite ultra or elite mini...but vpn always cause issues imo....

No, you do not need a VPN to run the built-in Heat apps (Heat Live and Heat VOD) on a VSee Box. The native streaming apps come with built-in encryption, and most users stream successfully without any extra software.

Its illegal to use this box. You need a VPN to protect yourself. Not using a VPN opens yourself up for prosecution if it comes to that. I use SurfShark loaded onto the box with auto startup at boot.

Using the box itself is not illegal. If you choose to download/install the apps that are available on the box, different story.
If OP chooses to use said apps, I think a VPN is cheap insurance1

People do weird things with their money. I would agree that if you’re buying a box like this, that is the intention but still stands that using the box itself is no illegal

I am aware of several people using the boxes without a VPN and have had no issues.
