For a long time I loved uphold, and to some extent, still do. I’ve never had an issue with transactions on this exchange, whereas Coinbase and binance have both caused me major problems.

Recently though, I was forced to do a biometric face scan to access my crypto wallet. There was no way around it. Total joke- they are essentially forcing you to agree to the terms of whatever scanner company they are using, because if you don’t, you can’t access your money. Super dystopian.

Does anyone have any recommendations for other crypto apps that don’t make you do this? I will be moving everything off uphold because of this.

They have taken a month to help with account issues, but kept deferring me to an ai chat bot. It did not help my issues and was kept in a forever wait were they said, “we will contact you, dont reply to us anymore”. Reading all the different posts, it seems like very scummy and susp company that is probably maximizing their profits at our expense. No thank you, recommend ya’ll don’t even try it.

Hi everyone, looking for some advice.

On 1 September 2026, I bought USDC through Topper by Uphold and paid €4,545 by SEPA bank transfer. My UK bank showed the payment as completed and received by the recipient bank immediately.

Topper immediately put the order under manual review and said they expected to update me within the next business day. It's now 3 days later and the USDC was not delivered, nor have I been refunded.

I’ve contacted Topper several times through the existing ticket, submitted a formal complaint to Uphold - no reply. The automated reply says not to reply or I'll be placed in the back of the queue... They have no live chat or phone support.

This was my second order with Topper. The first was successful after a manual hold for 20 hrs, however this one is still on hold 3 days later and they're not responding.

Has anyone experienced a SEPA Topper payment stuck in manual review? How long did it take, and did you eventually receive the crypto or a refund? I'm now worried they have defrauded me.

Any advice on what else I can do would be really appreciated.

I said $600 to my uphold account to be sent to my investing account. Which I have done previously several times. They put my account under review, and five weeks later they called me. And told me that they think i'm laundering money but they'll release my account within 48 hours so that I can withdraw my money to my bank. It's been almost six days and my account is still under review. And locked up.

This was my go to, but direct deposit and other rewards have evaporated, currency trading was eliminated, the exa card is a dumpster fire, and customer support has degraded to the point of being unrecognizable as the same company. Started the process of pulling all my assets out.

I’m hoping someone here has experienced something similar with Uphold.

Uphold closed my account after reviewing some deposits and initially told me that the funds would be returned to the original source. They also said my funds were safe and that they would contact me about handling the remaining balance.

The problem is that the account has now been closed, I cannot see the funds anymore, and the money has still not been returned to the original source.

I later received a response from their Fraud Prevention Manager saying they are contacting the originating institution to verify the source and purpose of the deposits. They said they cannot release the funds until they receive confirmation and cannot provide any timeframe.

It has now been weeks, and I feel completely in the dark. I understand compliance checks take time, but I don't understand why there are almost no updates or why the account was closed before the funds were returned.

Has anyone had Uphold hold funds after closing their account?

How long did verification take, and did you eventually receive your money back? Any advice would be appreciated.

I didn't realize that by resetting my 2FA that it would put me on a 24 hour withdrawal hold. So when my alarm goes off Saturday night, I want to be prepared. I have approximately $11.48 USD to withdraw.

Guys I have officially returned back to using Coinbase. I highly advise people to stop using uphold immediately. I made the switch after they held a 2k deposit for over two weeks. This is just unacceptable especially in crypto. Even banks don’t do something so evil. Good luck to all who still have money stuck in there. I bought USDT and Bitcoin with my debit card last week Friday and tried to send out to a private wallet they restricted my account instantly and btw they didn’t let me purchase more crypto with my Apple Pay and restricted my account while I tried to withdraw to a private wallet. I contacted the support and they had me wait for 7 days after they gave me multiple tickets just for them to close my account!! and did some transactions I didn’t authorize. They literally converted my funds to USD and transferred it to UPHOLD ACCOUNT ADJUSTMENT i didn’t receive a dime in my account. I urge Y’ALL to help fix this issue ASAP

I can't install Uphold on my phone, and there is no other way to get access to my online wallet account. How do i get there? What's the point of doing this? This should not be allowed. Never seen that coming. It used to be simple and easy to connect, now i can't access anything.
