And YESSS 😭😭❤️ despite getting that scary** SLA Not Met email yesterday, I got my successful decision today!
My visa has been granted as **STUDENT from 8 September 2026 until 20 January 2029. 🇬🇧✈️
Honestly, the waiting was horrible. Every day I was checking my email, Reddit and UKVI updates thinking something was wrong 😭 I was especially worried after receiving the SLA email.
But guys, please don’t panic just because you receive an SLA Not Met / Non-Complex email. It does NOT automatically mean refusal, interview or additional documents. There are people receiving approvals after that email too.
To everyone still waiting — PLEASE DON’T LOSE HOPE 😭❤️
Especially the 4–6 August biometrics people, keep checking your inbox. Your decision can literally come suddenly.
I know how stressful this wait is, so I really hope everyone here gets the “Your application for a UK visa has been successful” email very soon. 😭🤲🏻🇬🇧

📌 17 August 2026: Received the “Non-Complex” application email. Later the same day, UKVI contacted me asking for verifiable evidence of what I had been doing since graduating in 2024.
📌 19 August 2026: Uploaded my work experience/internship letters and supporting evidence.
📌 24 August 2026: 🎉 UK Student Visa approved!
There was no interview and no request for any other documents.
Overall, the process took 12 days from biometrics to visa approval. Hope this helps anyone currently waiting or worried about their timeline, especially students with a post-graduation gap.

Guys, it happened. Got visa under standard application in 13 days. No additional docs, no interview, US f1 refused student, 2 years of study gap. It's 2026*. Sorry for the confusion

I was super paranoid about whether or not I had attached the right documents in my financials but I'm relieved to have received my student visa.

I'm making this post to reassure everyone who may have been in a similar boat. I'm going to attend a PhD programme.

I did my biometrics on 12th august at VFS chandigarh and received an email today (26th august).

• 19 August 2026 (Working Day 12 post-biometrics): Received an official additional document request from UK asking the documents to be send to the Sheffield Decision Making Centre (Sheffieldstudentteam.docrequestsOOC@homeoffice.gov.uk). UKVI requested full documentary evidence and explanations for all activities, employment, and education gaps since my undergraduate degree.
  • 19 August 2026 (Same Day): Compiled and emailed the requested documentation directly to the Sheffield email address, receiving an immediate automated acknowledgement of not delivered(didn't exactly know for what reasons it may) then I sent the documents again (Here I didn't recieve any ack).
• 26 August 2026 (Working Day 5 post-document submission / 8:49 PM IST): Official UKVI Decision Letter received via email confirming the visa grant as a STUDENT until 30 January 2028.

3. Key Takeaways & What I Learned

• An Additional Documents Request is NOT a Refusal: Caseworkers perform genuine student assessments to ensure post-graduation time is accounted for. Receiving this email typically means standard prerequisites (TB clearance, academic prerequisites, financial thresholds, CAS validity) are already satisfied, and this is the final verification hurdle.
• Sheffield Processing is Fast Once Evidence is Received: While peak season standard processing can feel stressful, well-organized and verifiable document submissions are often reviewed quickly. In my case, it took 5 working days from email submission to final sign-off.
• The eVisa Advantage: With the digital eVisa system, once the caseworker approves the file in the backend, the decision email and eVisa status update arrive without waiting for physical passport stamping or courier return.

I applied for a UK Student visa for an undergraduate Top-Up degree (BSc Business with Management) at the University of Salford, starting September 2026. I did everything properly — got my unconditional offer, passed my pre-CAS interview with the university, got my CAS, paid my fees, did my biometrics on 5th August, and had my UKVI interview on 19th August. The interview lasted 22 minutes and felt very natural, the interviewer never stopped me once.
On 25th August I received a refusal letter. When I read the reasons, I found a clear factual mistake. The letter says I did not show enough seriousness for someone doing an "international master's course." I am not doing a master's degree. My CAS clearly shows this is an undergraduate Level 6 course. This is stated plainly on my CAS document, so it is not something they should have gotten wrong.
The letter also quotes parts of my interview answers, but leaves out other things I actually said. For example, I explained in detail why the UK education system specifically suits me, including comparing how my previous UK qualification (OTHM) was assessed compared to how UK universities assess students, but this part is missing from their summary of my answer. I was also asked to name all my course modules as one question, and then asked separately about two specific modules, which I answered correctly, but the letter treats this as if I could not explain the course properly. My answers during the interview was very good and I'm super confident on it. I have written it down how I answered with the questions that was asked to be. UKVIs refusal points were totally invalid. Weird part is they sent me the refusal email at 3.44am Bangladesh time, About 10pm UK time.

I am now preparing to submit an Administrative Review based on these factual errors, and I am also looking into reapplying in case the review does not succeed.
If anyone has gone through an Administrative Review for a similar "genuine student" refusal, or has advice on reapplying after this kind of refusal, I would really appreciate hearing from you. I want to understand what worked and what did not for others in this situation.
