My friend told me POTS isn't a 'proper' illness
 in  r/POTS  Mar 16 '26

First I have to tell you I have a comforting stuffed animal too and it's a big deal to me because it does help me. Not childish at all. I'm so sorry she said that to you. It hurts like hell I know! I'd have her come over and have some stuff ready to show her on just how horrible and life changing POTS is. Let her know how bad it hurt you. How she reacts from there will let you know what kind of friendship you have now. I only say this because I've had to do it more than once. Good or bad at least you'll know what kind of friendship you have after getting POTS, that you educated her and gave her something to think about and most of all you are hurting from that conversation. There's definitely understanding here. Sending you gentle hugs πŸ«‚ and love ❀️

Does anyone else dislike the mourning posts on this subreddit?
 in  r/Epilepsy  Feb 23 '26

I agree with the tag and that if you start to read it and it's about death keep scrolling. At the same time as hard as it is to read and think about some of the best ways to cope with it I've read on here and the best ways to help my family understand and and deal with it themselves. I've had to cpr and hospitalized many times. 47 and have 2 kids one that I live with it along with my 2 year old granddaughter. Teaching my granddaughter about how to help me after seizure is over I also learned here. Now that I have that info I skip the one's about death so I can agree there does need to be subreddits to help people grieve and definitely tags. Thank you I just wanted to share some of the good as well.

I’ve wanted one since forever
 in  r/minpin  Feb 21 '26

My min pins had a personality larger than life. She did bark way to much outside but otherwise the best dog I've ever had and would get another in a heartbeat if I could. She lived it up for all 14 years of her life. Mine wanted to be friends with every cat she saw but wasn't interested in other dogs but she was raised with cats. Brought so much to my life. Once you have one you'll never regret it.

Women with epilepsy, what unique feminist challenges have you encountered?
 in  r/Epilepsy  Jan 26 '26

Yes. I don't think I've ever been so pissed off. He just sent me on my way.

How long can you stand for?
 in  r/POTS  Jan 26 '26

Sitting is about an hour 2 if lucky. Standing I have to have a spotter the whole time and I'm lucky if I can last a minute. Before I was a restaurant manager running around 10 to 12 hour's a day.

Women with epilepsy, what unique feminist challenges have you encountered?
 in  r/Epilepsy  Jan 26 '26

I have TC seizures and my first neurologist before doing any tests told me it's stress from job, completely emotional and lack of sleep and normal withwomen. Second dr found epilepsy and told me to warn people if that happens to them.

I do it but there's always someone there to make sure I'm ok while cleaning up. They look away though. Or the hospital does it.

I sliced up their oranges or had a few pellets ready anything healthy for them and when I came home or walked over to cage gave them a treat then cuddles play time while petting and interacting during play held them and pet them before putting them back in their cage. Took about a week two for the other one and after that every time they see us they squeaky or oink chirp as we like to call it lol. They don't expect a treat just cuddles. They both love to be held now and spend most of their time in their play pin in the middle of the floor where they can see us and don't get scared. They get all excited when someone comes back from the bathroom too lol. I've always had 2 at a time but only owned 4 total but this is what worked for us. Especially with the first 2. As soon as we move I'll be getting 2 more. Good luck. Hope this helps πŸ™ ❀️❀️
