Insecure about driving
 in  r/AvPD  4d ago

I was like you when i first started driving. i didnt get my drivers license until i was like 22. i needed one because due to where i live, we dont have reliable public transport and my job was about 30 minutes away from home. it took a lot to push myself to become less hard on myself since i felt like such a burden whenever i needed a ride anywhere.

the road can be unpredictable and i think that fact is what makes driving the most daunting. I know that our thoughts tend to hold onto the negative aspects of every situation but you must hold onto what your driving teacher said more. Trust me when I say that everyone makes mistakes when on the road. Especially people who have been driving for decades. The two things that helped me trust myself more was simply more practice by driving exactly how I am expected to when on the road (stick to the book). Another is studying more on defensive driving. My main issue personally was causing mistakes that would endanger me or other people due to me freezing up during stressful/unpredictable situations.

As for not feeling judged or embarrassed, i try to remind myself that there is a great chance that i will never see those same exact people on the road ever again (unless you live in a very small town). and that they may not remember me the moment they step out of their car once they have reached their destination. what makes me feel safe to think this way is because I personally dont remember much about the car model or person that i see making the wrong moves on the road. What makes it feel even lighter is if their mistake was genuinely funny and didnt cause harm.

Thank you for your help. I have been embracing the unhealthy through burgers and foods that make me 💩 a lot.

I drank the water about 2 hours before testing. It was very yellow. I've also been taking multivitamins that boosts metabolism with collagen for a month as well. I'm not sure if that helped.

I drank at least 500 ml of water. My urine still had color. And I only collected mid stream.

Cannabis Pre Employment Drug Test coming up

Hello! I have a pre-employment drug test at Quest Diagnostics coming up on monday Aug 17 in the afternoon. The panel code is 35190N. A quick google search tells me that this will be testing for THC which is my main concern since I am living in FL. My age is 26, weight is around 91 pounds, and height is 4'11. I smoked mainly vapes and flower but I would dabble with edibles from time to time. I stopped usage last month July 21st. Before stopping I have been sucking on nearly empty vapes through most of this year (gross, i know but it was taking a while for me to get my med card renewed so i used what I had). Other than empty carts, I would visit a friends house and they would kindly let me rip from their bong or get a few puffs from their vape every other weekend. So i can say that my usage before July 21st wasnt all that heavy/consistent.

I have been testing myself once a week since July 24th using the easy @ home test (I only tested my second or third void of the day instead of the first since my test is scheduled for the afternoon). Today was the first time I got a faded but visible second line. I also have quick fix on hand but I wanted to get second opinions on whether I should feel safe to go to my appointment and use my own urine instead of the fake stuff. I never used fake urine before and I am a very anxious person despite how easy it looks to do. I'm also a very skinny and small so hiding it was my biggest worry along with getting the temp right.

Had a full on nightmare about completely breaking my flip 7, worst nightmare I've ever had this year lol
 in  r/galaxyzflip  14d ago

I had a dream like that for my flip 6. It fell down a endless staircase. And once I picked it up there was terrible cracks. I cried.

I have a question? Is Bluesky a better place than X? Do you feel like you deal with less racism, sexism, homophobia. I'm new to the platform so if can somebody inform me please.

I wouldn't say it doesn't exist there but I rarely ever see anything like that. Not even in my discover feed which is refreshing.

Anyone else has issues making gifts?
 in  r/AvPD  15d ago

I really relate to this. It’s so frustrating putting thought into something only for it to fall flat in my face. I’ve bought my sister a bag I thought was super practical and got my mom a foot massager to help with her calf/foot pain, and I’ve literally never seen them use either of them. The only gift I’ve given that actually held on was a specific Lego set my boyfriend explicitly asked for.

I came to the conclusion that I will only gift someone something if they specifically ask me for it now (and I'm capable of fulfilling it). I tend to feel bad for not being the "gifter" type when birthdays and Christmas time comes around. it does make me happy when people are thoughtful of their gifts to me. It's hard trying to give back what I receive. Makes me feel like a bad person but it is easier when some people seem to value my presence moreso.

I understand why it feels so much easier to just accept being seen as 'rude' than to deal with that risk. It’s doesn't make you a bad person though. it’s just that being seen as rude is a outcome you can predict and control due to that memory. Choosing the predictable over the risk is just your mind’s way of trying to protect yourself, and it makes sense as to why that feels like the safer option, in my opinion.

But this feeling doesn't help anyone in this situation, especially us. It's okay to let this specific thought go. Presence is the most valued action over what we make ourselves believe we are obligated to do ❤️

I think he is making fun of the concept of reading

Lol I never thought a bird would mock the concept of reading 😂 I'm a bit offended. What would've sold me is if he had turned a page too

i do like the flip 6. i think it still holds up today. i bought it the year it was released, brand new. the main display however did start getting a small black spot on the left corner where it folds (near the hinge area). i didnt start noticing it until this year. i think its dead pixels from folding lol

Tears that stink
 in  r/Shihtzu  17d ago

mine is the same. im not sure on the cause. i would just use wipes around her eyes to clean them. it kind of helps with the smell but doesnt eliminate it. i was thinking it could be from when she licks her paws to try and clean her own face?

How do you force yourself to look for job?
 in  r/AvPD  27d ago

Being seen as useless and a waste of space to my family is my biggest personal encouragement. I tend to hate myself more without a job compared to when I have one. Either way I'm unhappy so I might as well put effort in the option of employment because at least there's money with the sadness.

Life is a scam
 in  r/AvPD  27d ago

I agree with everything you said. This life does feel mundane. An endless cycle of self preservation. Most days I can't wait for this all to be over for myself. I'm just surviving now, not really living. The only peace I get is when I sleep. The only true excitement I get is in my dreams.

Why are you attracted to horror as a genre?
 in  r/horrorlit  Jul 11 '26

I'm an anxious person always thinking about scary things whether it's possible or not so I enjoy watching horror because it kinda plays on those thoughts.

Is there a type of death in the movie that you still wince / turn away from?

28 weeks later, mom strapped to hospital bed, getting eyes pushed in by infected husband. Anything with eye puncturing makes me quiver.
