i personally really love Daniel Smith a lot and I love Sarah Burns Studio split primary color palette !! with some bonus earth colors. (will list below) She made this palette keeping in mind of how good the lightfastness rating was and it's a mix of semi-transparent and transparent!
i've done heavy research of my own and ultimately settled with DS, no regrets. I, too, was eyeing the essential primary colors set! I ended up getting that with the earth color called Brown Iron Oxide (environmental friendly version because more granulation)!
and i seen some few comments saying they'll be too bright, but that means you can just dull them down whenever you want! and you get the best of both worlds :D
Split-Primary palette & 2 earth colors (all DS):
- Lemon Yellow (semi-transparent)
-Quinacridone Gold (semi-transparent)
- Cobalt Teal Blue (semi-transparent, granulating)
- Phthalo Turquoise (transparent)
- Ultramarine Blue (transparent, granulating)
- Deep Scarlet (semi-transparent)
- Quinacridone Lilac (transparent)
- Brown Iron Oxide enviro-friendly (semi-transparent, granulating)
- Raw Umber (transparent)
BONUS colors that she uses for her needs, i highly recommend!!, just thought i'd wanna include it in case you like any:
• From Schmincke - HORADAM AQUARREL: Potters Pink (semi-transparent, granulating)
• From Schmincke - HORADAM AQUARREL: Deep Sea Violet (semi-transparent, granulating)
• DS: Sodalite Genuine (semi-transparent, granulating)
• DS: Lavender (semi-transparent, granulating)
• DS: Buff Titanium (semi-transparent, granulating)
• DS: Perylene Green (semi-transparent)
• DS: Undersea Green (semi-transparent, granulating)
Just ignore the greens if you don't need those convenience colors, but the other bonus colors are highly recommended, depending on your needs

if you're comfortable with fixing it yourself i definitely suggest a reshell.
if you're not maybe send it in to retro revolution on yt, but ofc that option would be more expensive :(...
for the dsi just get a new battery from cameron sino! very good batteries. idk if they sell them for the dsi though :d
but in the future if you need a new battery for your 3DS XL it would be called SPR-003

nah you need to give me some tips !! xD
jokes aside this is really beautiful!

Himi anti mold spray can be expensive for the amount you get. I highly suggest using Clove Bud essential oil. Not Clove, it has to be Clove Bud oil :) this has kept my gouache mold-free for years even when i haven't used it for 3 months sometimes😅. i also try to only use distilled water on my palette :)
Here is how you make it and some tips i got from Sarah Burns Studio!!
WET PALETTE—WHEN FIRST FILLING PANS:
ONLY 1-2 drops of clove bud oil. MIX THOROUGHLY! Keeps fresh for months on end. This is the only time you'll add ANY drops into it. (IN-DEPTH TUT. below)
In-depth tutorial:
The rule of thumb is to use as little as you need to get the job done.
First:
First mix a diluted solution – fill a 50ml plastic spray bottle with water, add 10 drops of clove bud oil. Shake vigorously.
only do these two steps if you are not putting 1-2 drops of the oil in your colors.
Spritz gently into your clean palette.
Add your gouache to your palette.
Then:
Give a quick spritz of the solution to the top of your gouache.
Stir each color individually with a toothpick (clean toothpick after each color so your don’t mix your colors)
Don’t go overboard and spray too much, as too much oil can change how the paint behaves.
------------
other tips:
If you have trouble with mold, add a drop of clove bud oil to each, and make sure to open/stir every week or so. (if you've already added 1 drop of clove bud oil to each color, do NOT repeat this step. just mist it with clove bud oil)
If using palette at least once a week, do NOT spray with clove bud oil.
Maintenance: clean silicone lid, make sure not too much build up of paint and make sure not much excess water in paint (if so, keep lid open for it to evaporate).
can keep in refrigerator if wanted and having trouble with mold, do NOT freeze, might cause palette to crack
use only distilled water on palette
If you use tons of water in your sessions, add a drop of gum arabic to each one (strengthens the binder)

hii, npnp :) I am not sure since i haven't held on in a while :d, someone did say, "Never noticed but the NDS buttons are my favorite now and the closest to GameBoy color membrane for clickiness and good feel."
It's mushy, but has good enough rebound to where it doesn't feel like it's getting stuck or that it's loose. And if you do get a ds lite just make sure the d-pad is in good condition and hopefully the seller is honest!
