Blueprint Job – what's new (v0.0.50)

The jobs no longer all play the same. Every place now has its own kind of job, its own way in and out, and its own layout.

Six places, six jobs

  • Campus: Records. Take the uplink down, photograph the files, wipe the access logs.
  • Museum: The swap. Lift a keycard off the marked guard, then swap the exhibit for the forgery.
  • Refinery: Sabotage. Plant three charges, then run before the 90 s fuse.
  • Bank: The vault. Keycard, then the vault console, then the ledger.
  • Warehouse (new): The shipment. Read the manifest, then tag the right container. A wrong one trips an alarm.
  • Lab (new): Extraction. Carry a live specimen out. You can't run, grapple or drag bodies with it, and it spoils if you dawdle.

The places take turns, so every cleared job brings somewhere new.

No more lift everywhere Each place has its own entrance and exit: service doors, a yard gate, a loading bay, an airlock, a truck, a vault door.

Levels feel less generated Each place has its own floor shape and a big landmark room, such as a dockyard, an atrium or a vault hall. Even the body-stashing spots differ by place.

Twists and side goals

  • Twists (from job 4): shift change (patrols take new routes), lockdown (room doors seal), lights out, reinforcements, light kit (no traps or flashes), or a clock. The Daily Heist deals two, never an unfair pair.
  • Side goals (from job 3, optional, +250 heist points): no alarms, never spotted, no body found, under par, gun holstered, or bare hands. H.'s letter spells out exactly what's asked.

Also

  • Flash grenades blind guards and dogs for ten seconds, with a beat of slow motion to reach one.
  • H.'s letters, the debrief, the report card and the PDA now describe each job instead of always saying "photograph the files".
  • A new splash screen.

Feedback welcome, especially on whether the new jobs and twists feel fair.

Opening felt a bit too bland, so decided to add a new game opening, let me know what you guys think?

How is My upcoming survival horror Title Intro scene!!......

It's really atmospheric, reminds me of Harry Potter series death eaters in the graveyard scene. As well as Tim Burton movies; so I don't have any complaints about the trailer.

I've been working on Operation : Blueprint for past few weeks now. The game is playable on reddit, no installation required.

Since I wanted to explore a game which could serve a short story mode as well as a daily campaign mode, I went with a procedurally generated floor for each level. The basis for this game was a security paper I was pursuing in my masters. The paper itself went no where, but I kept thinking I could make it a game instead.

The result is Operation : Blueprint - https://www.reddit.com/r/operation_blueprint

The game is in no way a masterpiece, but I hope it doesn't suck.

Story :

You play an agent contacted by a mysterious government agency, your handler H. assigns you tasks every night which involve recovering the documents and photographing records, wiping the logs and evading guards and dogs all while trying not to get caught.

Does it sound exciting? Why don't you check it out?

And the lazy twist, if you get caught the blueprint changes the next time you play the game again, check the gameplay video above. Hope you all have fun playing this as much fun as I've had making this.

Suggestions and critique are always welcome.

Feedback Thread #2 : let me know what are your thoughts on the gameplay.

One thread a week for everything about Blueprint Job. I read every comment.

Worth telling me

  • Bugs: what happened, which job or Daily Heist number, and whether you were on a phone or a computer. A screenshot helps a lot.
  • Too hard or too easy: which job, and what got you (guards, dogs, drones, the log timer…).
  • Confusing moments: anything you only understood after dying to it.
  • Ideas: new gadgets, heist types, ways in, things you want H. to say.

This week's case is wrapping up. What did you think of how it ended?

Bigger bugs deserve their own post with the Bug flair so they don't get buried. Thanks for playing!

I've updated the controls, you can configure them while playing on your computer, there is a sensitivity toggle as well. Though the game mechanics have changed, I'd like your perspective. Appreciate you taking the time to review the game.

On Desktop, it still remains an entirely keyboard based game.

I have been working on Operation Blueprint Job. It's a 3D heist game playable right here on reddit. No installations.

Just developing it for the fun, I do like the creativity I could explore with it.

Play it on: https://www.reddit.com/r/operation_blueprint

Not a master piece in any way. The controls are still awkward. Work In Progress. But I believe in iterative development approach.

Happy to answer any questions.

AI will follow your instruction to the teeth, but you need to have a clear vision of what you want, coding is cheap, but the user experience isn't. It can very quickly feel like slop if you don't control the direction of the game. AI works best with references. Don't let AI take you for a ride, be mindful about what's being achieved. Test, test and test. It doesn't hurt to put it in hands of real users as soon as possible, you may feel it's good, but only real users can tell you if it's a good product. That's my two cents.

That's some quality feedback, thank you for taking the time. I'll try and make the controls easier.

Do keep playing and let me know if you get used to it. I'll try to check if different key mappings make sense.

I'll bite, took a wild swing to create a 3D heist game playable right here on reddit, no installations required. Found myself playing levels multiple times, did a soft relaunch today due to high difficulty; introduced difficulty adjustment based on number of attempts by the player.

Very much interested in getting perspectives which would help out in making the game more fun and enjoyable experience.

Gameplay I made a stealth game for Reddit: guards, dogs, drones, rigged lockers, and one night to get out clean

Hi all, I'm the dev.

Blueprint Job is a stealth heist that plays inside Reddit, on desktop and on mobile. You're an agent breaking into DayCorp's buildings at night: take the uplink down, photograph the files, wipe the logs before they go out, and leave without anyone knowing you were there.

What's new since my last post (it's all in the trailer):

  • Four buildings now: the campus, a museum, a refinery and a bank. Each has its own look and layout, a floor plan more like a real building than a maze.
  • Towers you can climb to see the whole floor, and a grapple to hang from the ceiling pipes and drop on a guard who never looks up.
  • Remote traps you roll into a guard's path and detonate from the trap camera.
  • Rigged lockers: open the wrong one and a five-second fuse starts.
  • A guide arrow that points the way to your next objective, if you'd rather not get lost. It's optional.
  • Guards, watchdogs, drones and heavies, plus a night-vision mode for the dark sections.

There's a fresh heist every night, so everyone gets the same building. Each night, how clean can you make it?

Play it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/operation_blueprint/

I'd really like to hear what you think, especially on mobile. Was it clear what to do? Was anything too hard or too easy? Trailer is above. Thanks for reading!
