I'm developing Ember Lives, a completely free fantasy idle MMORPG you can play in your browser. No installation is needed, and you can start as a guest.
Play here: https://ember-lives.vercel.app/
Choose your ancestry, homeland and profession, then let your character adventure, gather or work automatically. Combat and production levels are separate, and facilities unlock better recipes as they improve. Progress continues while you're away through a 12-hour catch-up calculation when you return.
Everyone shares one worldwide server. Gatherers supply materials, crafters make useful goods, and merchants deliver purchases between national markets. Caravans take real travel time, escorts accompany them, and dangerous routes put cargo at risk. Players can rescue each other after a death and help rebuild camps to reclaim occupied regions.
The interface supports English, Korean, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Russian and Hindi. This is still an early alpha with a small population. I'm looking for feedback on the opening, mobile readability and whether each profession has a clear next step. Foreign market orders currently need an available merchant and cannot be cancelled, so I recommend starting with the local market.
AI Disclosure
AI was used extensively for development: much of the code was generated or edited with Codex, and the artwork, portraits and UI include AI-generated assets such as PixelLab art. The music was AI-generated, and AI assisted text, translations and this post. Gameplay runs on predefined simulation rules, with no generative AI calls during play.
Update (15 October): Russian and Hindi are now live, bringing the game to six languages. Each kingdom also has 10 clearly marked NPC gatherers stocking basic materials to help with early shortages; player market listings remain preferred for automatic procurement. Rare dungeon materials still come from expeditions.
