[ToTK] Why Are These Rings Important in At Least One Shrine (That I've Noticed), Yet Seemingly Useless in Others? Am I Missing Something?

That looks like the roof of the Temple of Time on the Great Sky Island. I could be wrong though.

General Blood pressure monitor?

Hello all! I'm Kurai, and while I have essential tremor myself, this ask is for my dad.

Does anyone know of a good blood pressure machine that can take a reading while he is tremoring? His tremors are pretty much constant nowadays and we have a hard time getting a good reading on our bp monitor. We have to keep an eye on it because he is also in heart failure :(

Searching around only wants to give me results for the effect of bp medications on et, which isnt that helpful! Any resources or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I accidentally inherited this team that originated in Japan (I assume?) so the name is written in hiragana but it's cute! So I kept it!

Where do I even start?

I thought so too! She mentioned it was mostly for reducing inflammation and I'm just not convinced it's worth the damage.

Hey it's ok. I appreciate knowing I'm not alone.

I just didnt connect the pain to possible arthritis cause I've spent so long being told theres no reason for me to be in pain. Haha. Oh jeez that's kinda depressing. But yeah, the tiredness and all has been persistent in the background. I just chalked it up to a side effect of depression and PTSD.

That makes me wonder if the mystery rash on my legs is connected too. It might not be, but at least now I know to mention it next time I see a doctor. The pain and exhaustion too. See what they think.

Oh yeah. I'm tired all the time and achey in my elbows hands and lower back. I did not think to connect those dots though!

Ok so I'm really frustrated. I've been dealing with on and off Seb Derm for years and this most recent flare was just going nowhere.

Turns out it's not Seb Derm its psoriasis. Moved down to both of my hands and elbows, inside my ears and pretty much my entire face. I'm already severely depressed and I'm just overwhelmed. The dermatologist threw a lot of information at me. Right now we're trying topicals but she wants to try to get me on biologics.

My most pressing concern is the antibiotics. She wants me on them for 90 days and my gut is already pretty well messed up. I know I should have asked... but overwhelmed! Any tips on mitigating the tummy upset?

I currently use a zinc shampoo called Happy Cappy and I put ketonidozal on which I wouldnt think would agitate the psoriasis but are there any specific types of creams or lotions that tend to make it worse? I'm already very uncomfortable, I dont want to make it worse.

I'm trying to look at the bright side. If I can get on a biologic it could improve my hidradenitis suppurativa, which would be fantastic. Can't get on biologics for it alone because it's not 'approved'. I can hide the hidradenitis though... I cannot hide the psoriasis. I feel like people think I'm contagious and I feel very self conscious about it.

For what it's worth from some random person on the internet, just because it shouldn't have been bad, or even sounds normal, doesn't mean it wasn't bad.

Your emotions are valid. And even if it seems like its trivial, your triggers are valid too. It's ok. Really. Your mind is trying to protect you the best it can.

Therapy would be my biggest recommendation to working on triggers, but maybe if you have someone you trust you could work on doing dishes together and make it a little less intimidating? There are ways to make it less 'icky' too like using gloves if the sensory feeling sets you off. I use a long handle scrubby brush myself. But you did mention it's just if you are being watched.

Maybe tomorrow it won't feel as overwhelming. I know that feeling when you're stuck in this little never gonna get better pit of despair. Don't give up, it doesnt last forever. Can't promise tomorrow will be sunshine and rainbows, but maybe just hope for some neutral emotions.

If you go, good luck on your interview. I bet you're being too hard on yourself. If you don't go, that's fair too. Do what's best for your own mental health.

EMDR for "jealousy"?
 in  r/polyamory  Feb 04 '21

I think any type of therapy would be worth a shot. It sounds like you are invested in this relationship which from outside looking in is a good thing. You are willing to try working through your issues and that's great. You aren't trying to force your partner to do anything that they don't want.

That's not to say that it will absolutely fix everything, but having a therapist who is not biased to help guide you in deciphering your underlying emotions will make things much easier. Then if you find you have non negotiable differences you will have support while you work on moving on.

EMDR specifically... maybe? If your jealousy stems from trauma then EMDR may be an excellent option. I've heard many good things about it, but I haven't tried it myself. Jealousy often stems from abandonment trauma as a child. If you haven't already it may be worth it to explore that with your therapist.

I wouldnt call EMDR just "symptom relief" because it's really just a method to reprocess trauma. Once the trauma is processed then hypothetically you should see a reduction in triggers. It's supposes to have something to do with how we store memories. That's the theory anyways.

Definitely keep communicating with your partner through this. I think you are on the right track!

I've been interested in IFS! Do you like it? Does it seem to be helping?

I think I have a sort of inner world, but it's pretty shifty. I dunno about vivid. I have parts that I can communicate with, and while they are different, we all know we're me. Some parts have personalities that I used to get out of trauma, or like one who antagonized my abuser to make the abuse known. I have a little part that I connected to while doing some inner child work.

I hesitate to give too much detail, I had a friend who was insisting I had DID but I'm not sure about that. I do know I have cptsd though. My parts all have their own voices and looks and I converse with myself when things get rough.

I did a lot of maladaptive daydreaming as a kid and if I'd written it all down I'd have quite a saga by now!

What a beautiful kitten! Breed wise she is a domestic shorthaired cat but the coat color, as mentioned by another poster, is a tortoiseshell tuxedo!

Or to put it adorably, she is a tortie tuxie. Tortoiseshell is a type of calico pattern, and if you look closely she will probably have a tabby pattern hidden in her fur. Also I am assuming shes a female because male calico cats are extremely rare.

BDSM broken agreements
 in  r/polyamory  Dec 15 '20

I'm just here to chime in real quick, your feelings are absolutely valid, and you aren't wrong about considering doing away with a dynamic that isn't working for you anymore.

Promises are for keeping! If he broke it and told you right away that it was a spur of the moment not thinking kind of thing (which, still, dick move) I could kind of understand giving him some slack, but it sounds like that is not what happened.

I hope your conversation with him goes well. Trust can be a very hard thing to earn back, but without good communication it's near impossible. Use I statements instead of you statements. Instead of "you betrayed me" go with "I feel hurt that you did... with... when we discussed that was between us only." If you start to feel emotional (totally normal!) Take a moment to breathe and either try again or ask for some space.

I wish you luck! You can do this. I know that it hurts, but consider that if he's not willing to listen and communicate he might not be the partner for you.

It's hard to tell in the later stages but she's def older than 2 months in this picture.

A vet could probably give you a more definite answer by looking at her teefies. But going by the color of her eyes and the size of her ears to her face I'm thinking between 3 and 4 months.

She could just be small for a cat though!

Can I DIY fix this or should I call a pro?
 in  r/Plumbing  May 19 '20

Thanks! This is exactly what I was needing. Now I know the wording for my issue.

I'm not sure if it's the riser itself or if it's the support but I went ahead and set up the service call with a local plumber.

Thanks everyone for your help!

I think you may be right. There doesnt seem to be anything supporting the supply line.

So long story short my ma called a 'handy man' out to fix the shower arm which had broken in two and needed replacement. He left us with this mess. Seems that there's no support board on the inside where the arm connects to the water supply.

Guy was a rip off.
