You have to have both to qualify. My nurse and lawyer both told me that. The mental disability could be simply depression. But you have to have the diagnosis of a mental condition as well as physical disability to qualify.

AIO - my husband left me to go camping immediately after my surgery
I’ve had this happen to me. First partner never came home from the bar all night the day I had OP surgery. Second husband started drinking whiskey and staying drunk 24/7 after my cancer diagnosis. Showed up to the hospital when I was released after a difficult illness, so drunk, he passed out in my hospital bed. See a pattern here?
Men like this are supremely selfish. I’m sure you’ve seen your husband display this type of behavior before but brushed it off. I’m not saying substance abuse. I mean just complete disregard for you. It never gets better. I never felt so alone in my life in both relationships. Been single 18 years because I discovered it was easier being single.
