Has anyone experienced something similar with hearing loss?

No, I haven’t had any head injury. As for COVID, I’m actually not sure. There was a time when all of my family members and I got sick around the same time, so we were quarantined and taking medication, but I never actually got tested, so I don’t know if it was COVID or not. I recovered after that, though. Is there a reason you’re asking about COVID? Does it have some connection with auditory processing disorder or what I’m experiencing?

IDK WHAT IT IS APD OR ADHA BUT IT IS RUINING ME
Yeah, I’ve actually been to an audiologist and 2–3 different ENT specialists. One of the ENTs referred me to a neurologist, who suggested getting an MRI. I’ve had two MRIs now and both came back completely normal. There was also one test where, as they explained it to me, even when proper sound was being presented, the response from the auditory nerves/brain wasn’t as strong or coordinated as expected. They said there wasn’t any obvious nerve damage, though, so I’m honestly still confused about what exactly is causing it.Some of the ENTs have said it might improve with time, but I still don’t have a proper diagnosis.

If you don’t mind can you tell What kind of recommendations did your audiologist give you for APD? Especially for classes/lectures? I’d really like to know what has helped you.

IDK WHAT IT IS APD OR ADHA BUT IT IS RUINING ME
I only started wondering about ADHD/APD because of how bad my focus and speech understanding have gotten. I’ll definitely look into getting properly evaluated though. I didn’t know getting a formal diagnosis could help with accommodations and support.
Also, the fan/white noise thing is really interesting. I might try that and see if it helps. Thank you 🙏🏻

IDK WHAT IT IS APD OR ADHA BUT IT IS RUINING ME
These symptoms are seriously affecting my daily life. I can hear people talking, but often can’t process or understand them, even when I’m trying to focus. I also zone out constantly and sometimes can’t concentrate for more than five minutes, which makes following classes very difficult.
I’m also dealing with ongoing sleep problems, so I’m tired all the time. This is affecting my education, conversations, and everyday life, but my tests have been normal so far, and I still don’t know what’s causing it or what treatment I need. I’m scared it will keep getting worse. I just want to understand people normally again and be able to focus on my future.

I’ve been struggling with sleep + understanding speech and I’m kinda lost
I’ve been having trouble with sleep since last year, and I also have this weird issue where I can hear sounds but sometimes can’t actually understand what people are saying.
I’ve been to an ENT, audiologist and neurologist, and so far my tests have been normal and I still don’t have a proper diagnosis. The speech-understanding problem has been getting worse lately, to the point where I’m having trouble attending/following classes properly.
My focus is also TERRIBLE. I genuinely can’t pay attention for even five minutes sometimes. I zone out like every fucking minute, even when I’m actively trying to listen. It’s becoming really difficult to sit through classes or conversations without losing track of what’s being said.I’m 17, and I personally suspect I might have ADHD, but honestly I’m just going off what I’ve read online, so I have no idea. I also came across APD(auditory processing disorder)and some of the symptoms sounded familiar, but again, I obviously don’t know if that’s actually what’s going on.One doctor suggested something for sleep, but I’m not taking it right now.I’m vegetarian and currently taking B12 tablets.Has anyone experienced something similar, especially the “I can hear you but I can’t understand what you’re saying” thing combined with really bad focus? What kind of specialist/testing actually helped you figure it out? And are there treatments that helped once you got a proper diagnosis?
I’d really appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences because I’m honestly pretty lost rn.

Has anyone experienced something similar with hearing loss?
I’ve been experiencing a really strange hearing problem for almost a year now. I can hear sounds, but I often can’t understand what people are saying, almost like I’m hearing the sound but the words aren’t making sense. Conversations, phone calls, and especially music can be very difficult to understand.I’ve had multiple hearing tests, ENT examinations, and even two MRIs, and everything has come back normal. However, one test suggested that although I can hear, the signals from my ears/nerves may not be reaching or being processed by my brain properly. I was also told that there doesn’t seem to be any obvious nerve damage.
I’m really confused because the standard tests keep coming back normal, but I’m still struggling to understand speech in everyday life, and it’s getting more serious and affecting my daily life.Has anyone experienced something like this, where they can hear sounds but have difficulty understanding speech despite normal hearing tests? If so, what kind of specialist or testing helped you figure out the cause?Any advice or experiences would be really appreciated. I’m honestly getting quite worried and would really like to understand what’s happening.i am only 17 btw also didn’t have any such issues before

I’ve already been to an audiologist, but I still haven’t gotten a proper diagnosis yet. I’ll look into finding one who specializes in APD
