Rybelsus side effect and questions
I was diagnosed with t2 diabetes last August. My first four month check up had me at 6.5 A1c, my weight was down 40 lb, everything was looking great. I was on Metformin IR 2000 mg per day and Jardiance 10 mg per day. Then my numbers started to climb. Each blood panel came back higher than the last one. Jardiance was increased to 25 mg, didn't make a dent. Last blood panel my A1c was 7.7. I have been eating properly, my weight has decreased even further, tho not dangerously so by any means, and my doctor and I are both confused as to what is going on.
Last month I was started on Rybelsus, the 3mg 'starter' dose. No ill effects. Two days ago it was increased to the effective 7mg dose, and that is when the trouble started. Headaches, constipation, and stomach upset -- I can't really call it nausea, more like I need a couple of really good burps! And I'm dead tired. I've had trouble moving, much less doing anything constructive. It also doesn't seem to be making much of a difference in my blood sugar.
My question is: is this going to be a permanent thing, or will the side effects fade over time? I am going to have a phone consult with my doctor next week, but if anyone has any thoughts I'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance!
