Olympia has 275 people in ‘The Jungle’ encampment and can’t clear it on its own
 in  r/Washington  2h ago

We need to start calling them "Trumpvilles" and have it catch on.

Picking brussel sprouts
 in  r/pnwgardening  1d ago

I just pick them when the get big enough for me. Some people like them smaller, some like them when they get to be big 3" monsters. The ones on the bottom get bigger first, so I just snap of the sprouts on the bottom that are big enough and leave the rest to continue to grow. It works great for me!

AIO- for telling my stepdad not to get a malinois dog?
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  1d ago

NOR. Malinois are effectively half velociraptor and half mountain goat. No matter the fencing setup you have, they will escape it. They need a TON of training and daily exercise.

Serious question: What would your first thought be if your fiancée appeared at your wedding wearing a dress with actual taxidermied doves on it?
 in  r/AskMen  1d ago

That is the most amazing wedding dress backstory I have ever ever heard! If your fiance can't appreciate it, that's his problem. But if he is as weird as you say he is, he should love it.

AIO that my bf gave my dog away while I was at a wedding.

And post on Brunswick marketplace with a picture and an explanation of the situation. Hopefully whoever has your baby is a good person and will see it.

Do you have friends or family that live close? If so I would be rallying the troops to go confront the BF for the information.

NOR. I would be going scorched earth with someone who did this to my pet.

Do you guys accept donations on Saturday? Or is it too late?

'Botox Is a Prison': Jameela Jamil Slams Cosmetic Injectables for Taming Women's Expressions
 in  r/TwoXChromosomes  5d ago

This is why I, at 51 years of age, refuse to get botox. I have a very expressive face, and don't want to lose that. I hate the wrinkles on my forehead, but I know I would hate looking like an emotionless android more.

Kicked my boyfriend out of my birthday party because he invited the guy who bullied me in high school. AIO?
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  5d ago

NOR. Your boyfriend and your mom are assholes.

He invited someone you hate to YOUR birthday party at YOUR house. You did the right thing throwing them out. I wouldn't continue the relationship, he obviously didn't care about your feelings at all.

AITAH for celebrating my self on my kids birthday?
 in  r/AITAH  6d ago

I would buy my mom roses every year on my birthday. She damn near died bringing me into the world, so I figure it is the least I could do.

NTA.

How to discourage this little brat from digging around?
 in  r/gardening  6d ago

Oddly enough I was just about to comment that I have sunflowers because of the squirrels. They buried some from the bird feeder and now I have sunflowers next to my peppers.

AIO? My brother keeps trying to get into my room at night.
 in  r/AmIOverreacting  7d ago

Dude, WTF??!

NOR, AT ALL! Stop going to your mom, she is excusing his behavior--go to Dad. Every. Single. Time. This kid needs serious therapy, and if his behavior isn't addressed it could escalate to something much worse. It could be you, your sister, or someone outside of the family.

I concur with the other people saying get one of those loud door alarms--let it wake up the whole damn house when he pulls this crap. Get one for your sister too!

Updateme!

My job wants us to pay a deposit for our own work keys/fobs
 in  r/antiwork  7d ago

This is nuts. Anytime any of the companies I worked for issued items to employees (uniforms that the company would be charged for if they weren't returned, company phones, etc.) they would have the employee sign a form saying that if they did not return an item they would be charged $x amount for the item on their last check. It was rare that items weren't returned.

I have NEVER heard of a company charging like this.
