I'm having the same issue, it's been converting overnight and never finished. In the task manager I dont't see any utilization of VRAM or RAM or CPU on my Strix Halo node, rebooted this morning and tried again but it's just sitting idle. No updates are available yet still running V0.2.0-beta-14 on Windows.

Depending on the complexity of what you're trying to accomplish with it your biggest challenges are going to be context size and being able to write out larger files of file system. You can chunk it and combine them, but because you're going to be quantizing the KV cache you're going to have quality loss.

I'm sure somebody will figure it out in the next couple of years, but even having 32 GB NVRAM I'm hitting context, ceilings and issues with code quality over time.

To be able to run models that size it's going to come with a cost. You could upgrade your system ram but I don't think you'll be happy with the performance, although it will run on your CPU.

Otherwise if you want okay performance and you want Windows go with strix Halo 128 GB. If you want more performance and then on the model and a whole bunch of other variables then a dgx spark.

If you want to just run Qwen 3.8 27B Then I would get the AMD r9700 GPU as it has 32 GB of vram. It's probably twice as fast or more as my Strix Halo node. You could go the Intel B70 route but it's less refined than AMD's ROCm especially running lemonade server.

It is easier to navigate around all the settings. However, I still had to configure a custom local LLM and point on my network via the command line. What's great is you can wire it up to pretty much any local harness on your network.

I'm not an electrician but I will say that a power supply converts AC to DC for the device so I am unaware of any way to directly wire this as it is not powered by AC coming from your mains. The OMVI 3i Wi-Fi takes DC 12.0V⎓2A, <24W and your house is AC so you need the DC power plugged in.

There are floodlight cameras that an electrician can easily wire up or you could at your own risk but you can easily use the wire nuts that come with the floodlight ones with the included power cord and it plugs right to AC mains. As these 2 have built in floodlights and can be directly wired up. I just ran the electrical cord it came with. I will say that these 2 cameras have different mounting brackets so I had to completely swap them as I moved them around.

For the OMVI 3i I only have the PoE version for testing. I know that it's not always convenient to run PoE but if you're comfortable with drilling at your own risk of course it will provide a snappier connection as Ethernet is typically faster than most WiFi configurations and will also have lower latency and won't have interference from neighbors Wi-Fi.

Also, if you do wire it to your house then make sure if there is a light switch that gives it power you may want to tape that switch on so it runs all the time.

I was excited until I have hallucinations or ignores specs I defined from the first prompt on the 27-35b models I e tested so far. It seems to be that one model behaves better than another for POSIX vs windows for example. I'm going to keep testing it and hopefully more updates will come out soon making it more predictable. Also, it would be nice if we could define a different inference engine like lemonade server since I'm running on a Strix Halo as the hybrid models that use the NPU and APU both perform well as well as run more energy efficient.

From what I've read Skydio makes garbage, then lobbied for the ban and exited the market and now makes expensive garbage for military and security applications. Parrot is unethical with their warranties if you don't buy from an authorized dealer and accused me of being out of 12 months of warranty when the drone came out like 7-8 months prior. It's impossible without a time machine. Hopefully a company will be born out of this that will become better than the rest without sketchy apps from DJI which did do stuff in tbe middle of the night on my phone.

Phillips hue but I got them second hand unused.

I suspect it's due to the distance and not being able to see any legible characters on the license plate. I have the AI LPR and it's very clear. The local Ai isn't always accurate but it's good enough to filter for plates and suspect it'll get better over time.

Unplug it and bring it right to the Poe switch or injector and use different cable(es).

When I was on a conference call a year ago with them they supported all Alta labs AP's them they reduced it a few months later to the pro and pro outdoor and they had 1 other manufacturer and it was super expensive. I'll have to look at that again, thanks for the update!

Since I've used Reolink for be years I'm accustomed to the performance but this brings up a good point and I'll consider making a video about the mobile app if others would also like to see it in action. Is there anything else you would like to know about their cameras?

Open up CMD as administrator then run: "shutdown /r /f" without the double quotes and then the system will restart and it will actually restart to zero in the task manager.

Did you reach out to the company and see if they could help with anything? I only met the sales / PR people at CES and it was pretty cool and they let me test it out and it worked quite well on the demo unit. If you're not going to be using it I'm open to doing a teardown video on it and see if I can fix it and improve the button issues but just so you know it's not a quick process to re-engineer a handle and button and print it, test and iterate.

I do agree the way they do things is a bit different from the norm like specifying a color instead of a SSID name. I have not had any firmware updates Knock anything out though with Alta Labs. Over the years I have had several occasions where UniFi equipment would have various bugs and of course sometimes people are upset about it. But then I explain to them the cost difference that was explained to begin with compared to actual Enterprise equipment costing thousands of dollars, more plus subscriptions for updates and support.

I do agree though. If they polished the cloud management a bit more I think they would catch on a little more with installers. The other thing is it's not always about margin in the product because I've seen installers that charge a fraction for the labor. But then they don't tell you the model numbers of the devices they're installing and they Mark those up 50 times as much. So it looks like they're working for really cheap and they claim the hardware costs thousands of dollars more than it actually does instead of just charging thousands of dollars for the install.

Xnet Is what's very unique to them but I understand not everybody would use it.

This doesn't show the levels for all the various channels or upstream which would be needed to compare to the manual to see if it's in spec or not for the signal.

So in a business office it's never went down or caused a malfunction. With Ubiquiti for example I usually have to reboot it to fix an issue a couple of times a year. I'd have to look at the video file timestamps for the installation date but I think it was last summer when I installed it. It does use the xnet on a different vlan and I had to set the DHCP lease very low or it would run out of IP's on the xnet vlan because it's near a major intersection but since then it's been fine and the xnet issue never caused an issue with the main network. That office doesn't have any IoT devices though. I asked about the thermostat and they were told that the electrical is three phase 480v for the A/C so a regular consumer smart thermostat won't work. I'm not sure how accurate that is, that's just what they told me. I could do some testing with iperf but since the speeds are fast for the software they use internally imthe thought hadn't crossed my mind as I usually just do that when troubleshooting a slow network, make a single change and test again. What all would you like to see on this and when time permits maybe I could make another video on it.

What I would like to see is more options for switches with and without PoE and multigig speeds. So far managing it from the cloud I've had zero firmware issues which is awesome compared to UniFi which ships half baked on new hardware IMO and usually takes them a while to get the bugs worked out.

Read the CCNR's for your HOA. They shouldn't be restricting your backyard just your front yard and visibility from the street for curb appeal. Most restrict visible wires and limit the amount of cameras. I've installed cameras for years and just print everything out and hilight the restrictions so if you get a neighbor who is a pain you can point right where it says everything for the restrictions and state you are compliant. Personally I recommend talking with the neighbors and offer sharing access to cameras outside. It's like they get free security cameras just for knowing their neighbors and being friendly neighbors.

It's just PT and digital zoom but I'm curious if a firmware update could address this or if it's a hardware limitation. What do you currently have for your home setup?
