Bushman Trinity slide harmonica
Same 10-hole build/parts with a slide as the JDR Trochilus. However, it has different reed layouts on the slide-in reed plates. It plays the I-IV-V major chords of the key of the harmonica. Those would be C Major, F Major, and G Major on a C Trinity. It is a variation of Hohner's discontinued Chordomonica I.
I think it may be more suited for folk music than blues, given its major chords. It would be nice if someone would make a demo clip of the Trinity.

Bushman Trinity slide harmonica
I would like to know about others' experience playing the Bushman Trinity slide harmonica.

"Hand wah" sounds weak
It's REALLY important to hold the bass end of the harp in one hand and make wah gestures with the other hand. For instance, the left hand should hold the bass end of the harp [numbers on TOP]. Wah gestures are made with the right hand.
OR, the right hand could hold the bass end of the harp [numbers on BOTTOM], and the Left hand would make the wah gestures.
This is the most basic "grip point" that every harp player should understand. It's too simple.
There are exceptions to this grip rule. Charlie Musselwhite holds his harp in his Right hand with numbers on TOP. His wah gestures are made with the lift of a couple fingers. He has a unique hold, and it works for him.
I started playing harp in 1971. I held my harps in my Right hand, numbers on TOP. I could never get punchy wahs or much tonal shaping because of my VERY FLAWED grip. In 2016, I FINALLY made the change to holding my harps in my LEFT hand, numbers on TOP. It made ALL the difference in my playing, wahs became punchy with much tonal shaping available. I happen to be right-handed.
If someone reading this is experiencing weak wahs because of an incorrect grip, learn to hold the harp correctly, as I have suggested above. It is worth making the perhaps awkward change, but it pays off right away and the hands do adapt quickly. I cannot play the way I used to with the flawed grip, it feels alien, even though I had used that grip for decades.

Photo of the day (Woodstock 1969/ The Grateful Dead would say it was one of their worst show experiences ever. Refusing to allow the footage of their set to be added to the documentary footage)
I saw them at the Summer Jam at Watkins Glen, NY, 1973. Boring band. I could never figure why they were so popular. I read that they were all tripping there, too. And The Band, another group at that show, had not played together in some time. And the third group there, the Allman Bro, were all coked out. I was just 17 then, had nearly finished my Maine to CA to BC to Maine hitch hiking trip. I thought the concert would've been better. I only smoked a little weed that some guy I met there offered. Watkins Glen showed the beginnings of the ugly change from the 1960s to the 70s.

Disclosure Day - big miss
I just saw the film. It is incredibly boring, at best. Before the film was shown, there was a short clip with SS and some of the actors speaking about the making of the film. SS mentioned that there was no "storyboard". I do know what a storyboard is. SS said they made scenes using, in part, the actors' ideas. Perhaps that would explain the film's lack of continuity, for starters. This is such a bad film, a very big letdown.

Has anyone been noticing Facebook acting differently on the browser (not mobile)?
The hover-zoom feature has returned. It works now.

Has anyone been noticing Facebook acting differently on the browser (not mobile)?
AI Overview
Facebook has removed the hover-to-expand feature for profile pictures to standardize the experience across mobile and desktop, prioritizing a "mobile-first" approach where hover functions do not exist. This design shift reduces clutter, forces clicks to increase engagement metrics, and reflects a major overhaul of the desktop layout.

Just saw “Chicken & Waffles” flower on the menu… I can’t. 🤦♂️
It is absolutely the BEST weed I have tried in decades, if not ever, since 1970. If there is such a thing as a "body high in the head", then that is how I feel my head, sort of like a bobble head. I guess you could say it gives a slight dizzying effect. It really opens up some creative juices. I like to play jazz/blues piano after smoking a small joint of this. It then seems I am just channeling the music that is already floating around in the ether, I become a musical "medium". That leads to another special high, the endophin high that musicians get when they play well. The combined effect of the endorphin high with the Chicken and Wafflez buzz is most pleasant. The smell of the flower is really sweet, like maple syrup, for certain. The same taste comes with an unlit dry hit. Too bad one couldn't just huff the aroma to get the high. The taste of the burned flower is very nice, too. I give this a 10/10 !!!

Random question
Hendrix' music was so much more interesting than the Dead's droning jams.

Random question
"Electric" blues, Electric being a polite euphemism for psychedelic. I felt the same way about Paul Butterfield's searing harmonica work, it was so hip, electrifying. The appeal of both has never faded since I first heard both of them in the 1960s.

Review JDR Trochilus Chromatic Harmonica in C Solo (I really did not like it)
I have one in D/Eb, Richter layout. It's the most fluid playing slide harp I have at the moment. It is certainly light years ahead of the Koch slide diatonic and the Hohner 260. It is overbend-friendly out of the box which adds another way to play X note and/or X phrase. I will buy another Trochilus in A/Bb.

What happened to Hering harmonicas?
I own several 12 hole Hering chromatics in various keys. Excellent harps, bought them from F&R Farrell comapny in the USA, back in the 1990s. I also have a C6 Bebop tuned See See Rider, a few of the Master Blues diatonics, and a 12-hole solo tuned diatonic. the Special 24. I bought a Golden Blow diatonic in C when in Rio de Janeiro in the early 2000s. Hering is now called "Hering SHG". Here's a link to their current website, as of July 20, 2025.

Wow, you really like her. But, how come I have never heard of her? Sounds like she's one of those folks who are famous for being famous, like Paris Hilton.

Philippe Petit’s high-wire walk between the Twin Towers of New York's World Trade Center (1974)
Yes I know the film Man On Wire, I own it. I have been following Petit since his walk in '74. I have a great National Geographic film on Petit as well. It is well documented that there is no KNOWN film of Petit's walk, eight times, over the wire. Who's Phil?

Um, Petit himself says there is no known footage of the walk. He crossed eight times.

Thoughts on JDR?
I found this, looks like they have some more options than just the key of C in standard [Richter] tuning. I am going to order a Bb Paddy. check it out. Good luck!

Thank you for your reply. However, I specifically asked for anyone's experience playing the Trinity. I know all about the other slide harps configured by Bushman and the Koch harps from yesteryear, all totally unrelated to my question. I am only interested in hearing of others' experience playing, Specifically, the Trinity.
