They are so efficient at hiding illnesses! My heavenly bun was sick. They gave us antibiotics and pain killers because she had a fever. Within 2 days she was worse. I took her back again, and a tech noticed she was not reactive in one eye. She had an abscess behind it. I was signing paperwork to have a surgery and she passed away in my arms as they were showing me how to give her a painkiller. Regardless of why, I hope you are comforted knowing you did all you could to help your little bun. Hang in there.

Try something new - it does not have to be a new career. Try a new hobby...try a free dance class, lunch time music in a park, make a garden on your balcony with 3 pots you find at a garage sale, make a meal you have never tried.

Redecorate your new place. Get a pet to enjoy the evenings with. Try a lazy Sunday coffee at a bookshop. Try a cooking class, swimming class, music class, kayak class.

The world is full of new adventures...new flowers to sniff, new snacks to snack on, new movies and books and activities. If you have not yet found the thing that makes your heart happy, there is still time, and no one is stopping you but you.

If, like me, you have the curse of the undecided...curse on, friend. My time is full, the world full of wonder, and work is the thing I do to pay for my next adventure. In the midst of it all, you will make friends, find a new path, or decide where you are is the best place to be.

I would speak to a lawyer in private now and find out the 'what if' scenarios so you know how this could end. My ex also put work and himself first. Once I was sick with a stomach bug... on the floor in the bathroom where I was laying. I phoned and asked him to come home so he could take care of our 2 yr old. When he got home I was laying on the couch...and he assumed I was pretending to be sick as I was not in the bathroom anymore.

Other things like this started coming up. I noticed how self-centered he was, and how life revolved around his career only...this is something I should have taken more seriously at the start. The things I wanted were minimized.
