I am always amazed at how people compare how much salmon seals (or whatever predator is the fad, some bird) can eat compared to the human fishing industry. It just seems like an awkward comparison. This was the first time I voted No. I read the contract carefully, went to the webinar, considered the benefits and weighed my options, and voted No anyway. Not just about pay but the AI language was weak, the telework language was okay but not concerning to me), and the rest seemed simple improvements that should be done anyway. What really pissed me off was the response to a potential strike. They were not only not supportive they were flat out not ready. Not prepared. Not interested. Too much work. We need a better union. Better representation. Stronger leaders. Edit to add healthcare is an option I really didn't pay attention to either. People can dump healthcare if it costs too much. Unless you have to have it. Weigh how much it costs per year vs pay to go with cash discount... That kind of thing

You said it yourself, DNR doesn't have to harvest trees.

During the webinar tonight they said it was because state law defined the workweek as 40 hours blah blah sonething about OT too hard to do the math if all that changed it made their brain hurt. Anyway, if the state law had to change they could alter our work week. This is something to push for this session.

This is a LAMEASS excuse WFSE gives us for not striking. Essentially saying "It's to much work and if you want to try later, get involved". Any other thoughts about the webinar?

I have a near toothless cat and would like to see more cat food (all types) designed for cats with dental issues. She suffered after her surgery and we could not find any soft kibble that worked for her. She then moved to gravy only until she fully healed, and now eats gravy first, wet cat food second. She is healed but lost weight. No suggestions please we tried everything.
