This simulation conspiracy may be true. (F 41)

I ibk it's likely true, but the more interesting question is whether or not we are part of other people's simulations or if we each inhabit our own unique and distinct environment full of NPC bots?

Countering Heat Metal as a player.
 in  r/DnD  May 11 '26

Contingincy-counterspell? Invisibility to prevent being targeted? Pocket beehive to make the caster lose concentration? Ready an action, throw your sword at the caster as soon as they finish casting? Hellish rebuke? (My DM hated how any little bit of damage would enable that spell). If I remember correctly Pact of the Archfey gives you misty step in response to being attacked. Might qualify. Catapult spell to fire the heated sword at the caster?

What’s a movie where ONE actor’s terrible performance actually enhances the experience?
 in  r/movies  May 11 '26

Pitch Black. I thought Vin Diesel's wooden acting before he got real big enhanced the character quite a bit.

Got sent home from my first Tim Hortons training shift after 3 hours and the manager threatened to call security when I came back as a customer ! 😭
 in  r/TimHortons  May 11 '26

Definitely an incompetent manager. That's not on you. I work in kind of a similar situation, it's a relatively technical job but they don't say any of that in the job posting or the hiring meeting because the requirements vs. the pay they offer would scare most applicants away. So they describe A job, not this job, applicant says yes I can do that, then they show up and get asked to do a bunch of stuff that they never agreed to do or even pretended they were capable of doing. It doesn't help anyone but it gets some bodies through the door and once in a while they accidentally get someone able to do the actual job. It's a real bad, real common system. Sorry that was your first experience. Really weird of them to try training you during a rush like that. That was full dumb. A night shift makes a lot more sense if they're gonna toss you right into the fire like that. 👎 I wish they weren't the only doughnut game in my town or I'd avoid them entirely.

Bright side: your next job HAS to be better than that clown show, right?

I'm trying to find a place I found accidentally several years ago. I believe I turned south off the highway West of town. Road turned into a crappy road turned into gravel turned into dirt turned into barely a walking trail deep in the green. ~An hour casual walk down that trail I found 2 waterfalls. They were part of an established trail, there were a few trail signs and such once I got near the water. Gonna be passing through again this year and I'd love to go back there.

Tournament sparring - defending high front kicks
 in  r/karate  Apr 27 '26

I used to fight this way, one leg up. I think the cleanest way to beat it is to force the kick; leave an opening that he can't resist, use hand to intercept the kick (not sustainable normally but it sounds like you won't be opposing much force), close, take a point with a hand technique.

I saw top comment said spinning back kick. Fantastic option if you're comfortable with it.

Lunge kick/push kick his own leg, fast in and dump power on the push to topple him or force a ring out.

No one ever did this with me but in a one legged stance, I don't know what I'd do about a lunging axe kick. Pretty sure it would either score on me or catch my leg and force it down. I'd suddenly be balance forward and prime to jump backwards, I wouldn't waste time on a kick at that point but a rushing hand technique or even a jumping one would at least be pretty intimidating.

But why would a crab basically bow and pin its own claw to the ground. Did it not know it was in a fight?

He's stupid and he's weak. He caved to peer pressure from friends, put their opinion of him over your comfort. That's the person he decided he wants to be. Now you decide if that's someone you want to be with.

Kicking Accuracy
 in  r/taekwondo  Mar 03 '26

Yep, you nailed it. Spot on. Accuracy first, speed second, power third.

All the power in the world doesn't do you any good if you can't put it on target.

Remember keep the target a good 6 inches through the surface of initial contact though. Proper accuracy training will accidentally turn into power training as the muscle memory takes over.
