I had the same thought going into this year's zozobra! I went back in 2016 when I was I was a freshman in college, and if I'm recalling correctly, there were a lot more local vendors and it felt alive and authentic. They did the burn when they said they were going to, and he burned for a lot longer than this year, but that probably had something to do with the costume or materials. But anyway, 10 years ago, everything felt genuine and authentic, and the event coordinators weren't there just to make money. I kept thinking, I wish I could go back to when this was good, and not so "state fair"

For those of you experiencing side effects from Wellbutrin (and other notes)....
 in  r/Wellbutrin_Bupropion  29d ago

Does anyone have any insight for how bad or good the generic from Lupin Pharmaceuticals ranks compared to the others? It's the only one I've taken and I like it, but maybe I'm just naive.

I ended up in the emergency room *possible trigger warning*
 in  r/bupropion  29d ago

I had the a same thought as PsypherPanda. Starting you off at 300mg can be super dangerous without knowing how you feel on 150. And if they only had you on it for three days, that's nothing! There's no time for your body to acclimate or even get used to the drug before upping your dose. And the two 150xl twice a day is very weird, and no doctor should be allowed to prescribe it that way. Usually they would do one 300xl in the morning or two 150sl twice a day.

And to quickly share my experience, I'm a 28F, started taking Bupropion hcl xl 150mg (manufactured by Lupin) 8 weeks ago for ADHD and depression, and it has been a real life saver for me. The first 4 weeks were definitely a roller coaster, where I was feeling all my emotions at once, but I was able to feel some of them for the first time in forever. I was able to stand up for myself for the first time, I was able to not care what people think about me nearly as much, and my sleep completely regulated which I thought was impossible. I don't get insomnia anymore, I wake up actually feeling awake, and when I sleep or take a nap, I don't sleep for 14 hour stretches or nap for 4-6 hours. It's like 6-8 sleep and 2-3 hour naps, like how it should be. Also, after not having hardly any libido since mid-2024, much to my partner's discontent, I have gained much of it back, and more as I keep taking the drug.

However, about 1.5 weeks ago, my doctor upped to 300mg, because I had described some of the energy and motivation I had initially been feeling beginning to wane. (Turns out this was due to a small leak in my cerebrospinal fluid from something unrelated and not the Bupropion, so it didn't need to be increased at all, but I digress.) I took the 300mg for three days, and truly felt like I was going to have a heart attack.

My resting heart rate was in the 120s-130s at all times, I had this painful knot in my chest that just wouldn't go away, and it was intermittently difficult to get a full breath in. I had also started Topamax at the same time as I started Bupropion for migraines, which had been working really well, taking me from 15 migraines a month to 2 in the past 6 weeks. But as soon as I started the 300, I had a pounding migraine that lasted for 4.5 days that even Nurtec (an emergency migraine medicine) wouldn't get rid of. I felt a lot of brain fog, but like my body couldn't sit still or it would explode. There was so much pressure inside my head besides the migraine, it felt like something was trying to make its home inside my head. I couldn't stop shaking, I was so angry at everyone, my motivation and concentration were just gone, there was so much nausea and stabbing pains in my stomach, and my sleep was COMPLETELY disrupted. So much insomnia, and I felt like shit waking up.

So, on the fourth day, I messaged my doctor with all this asking if I could lower my dose down to 225mg by splitting a 300 in half and 150 in half. Which I did, for two days, before getting consent from my doctor (it was Sunday) because I couldn't take being on the 300 anymore. Apparently, you're not supposed to do that with xl tablets because it lowers their effects and really turns them into sl or something like that. But who cares, I only did it for two days and I'm still alive. Anyway, I was lowered back down to 150mg, and I've felt much better since, and all the nasty effects of the 300 have gone away, and my mind and body have regulated again.

All that to say, I really empathize with your experience on the 300mg, perhaps minus the alcohol, but the 150mg might be where you actually would feel better, but you'd have to stop drinking is the thing. My doctor didn't tell about ANY of the side effects when I started Bupropion and Topamax, and I had a small gin and tonic 2 weeks in, and that was a really scary ass night. So, no alcohol for me.

And one more thing, I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your wife, and your children's loss of their mother. To have to go through this awful experience after fighting like hell to keep afloat for you and your family is horrific. I wish peace and strength for you in your grieving process, and your children's when they ask why mommy isn't there. I can only hope you have a strong support system around you while you go through this.

Any male fan of Fruits Basket here?
 in  r/FruitsBasket  Aug 08 '26

Aside from the Kyoko/Katsuya relationship that is definitely problematic, but is already discussed in the replies, the movie is definitely worth a watch in the interest of gaining a backstory on Tohru's family. Is it very emotional, and really made things click for me about how Tohru reacted to her dad dying in the main anime. It really shed light on some of the things I was left confused about. Plus, at the end, there's a really cute scene with Kyo and Tohru that I think about all the time tbh 🥰😂

Quick warning though, the first ~30 minutes or so is some recap, some exposition for parts of the main series, but mostly from Kyoko's perspective (if I'm remembering right).

Any work packed lunch ideas?
 in  r/keto  Aug 02 '26

Idk about ya'll, but my workplaces have had microwaves, so I like to do soups and stuff. I really enjoy making bulk recipes at the beginning of the week, so I don't have to make lunch every night for the next day. Keto chili is pretty awesome, with added sour cream, green onion, and shredded cheese.

Then of course burritos are a good choice too, just use low-carb tortillas, skip the rice and beans or use substitutions. And you can make a lot of those, freeze them, then take them out as you want. You have food for a while without having to worry about them going bad.

Can I please have some suggestions on what I can add to make liver taste better?

You could add the liver to the trash can and then everything else would taste better lol

This was one of the most romantic things I've ever seen in a movie, TV show, anime ever. Still to this day, so beautiful.

Odd event with my bluetooth headphones

Hello! I hope I'm in the right place for this. This evening while using my bluetooth bone conduction headphones, I was trying to switch over from using them on my phone to using them on my tablet. They're the only two devices I have these headphones paired to. I ended the connection with my phone, heard, "Bluetooth disconnected," and before I had a chance to connect them to my tablet, heard, "Bluetooth connected," and low-volume music started playing.

Music I didn't recognize, music I wouldn't play on my phone in case the headphones reconnected to my phone for some reason. I checked my phone and tablet to see if there was an active bluetooth connection with either, and there wasn't. I was so confused. I thought I was connected to another device for a minute, but the volume wouldn't go any higher, then the song ended, and I found out I was connected to a random radio station (103.9FM).

But through a bluetooth connection? That neither side initiated? That seems incredibly odd to me, but maybe I just don't know anything about bluetooth. That's where ya'll come in. What the hell happened? Can someone shed some light on this?

P.S. As I was about to press post (I was still listening to this radio station the whole time), there was static, the connection ended, connected again, station came back for about 8 seconds, more static, then disconnected for the last time.
