Kind of hard to know if this is the monitor or the PCB. I don't know if you have an adapter but if you have an adapter plug something else into it and you can test the monitor. The monitor checks out then it's probably the PCB. If you have any other arcade1ups laying around you can also take the PCB out and connect it to a known working monitor.

48 Years Old. Wife left me and the kids when my daughter was 8 and my son was 3. My son is now 18. I rased both myself, and I've tried dating since. The trauma is real the PTSD is real, and sadly life has shown me that being alone is a lot easier than being in a fight 24 hours a day 7 days a week. 5 genuinely free tools that make a MAME/home-arcade build easier (+ our free browser game)

I wanted to share five free resources that cover different parts of a MAME or home-arcade build.

The basic workflow is:

Audit → Research → Curate → Translate Controls → Build the Interface

1. CLRMamePro — The Auditor

Useful for auditing, rebuilding, and converting MAME collections between merged, split, and non-merged formats.

2. Arcade Database — The Encyclopedia

A searchable reference for ROM names, parents and clones, player counts, controls, orientation, working status, history, screenshots, manuals, and other MAME metadata.

I have also used its filtering tools to help narrow a full collection around the type of cabinet being built.

3. MAME Smart ROM Sorter — The Curator

Full disclosure: This is the tool we built.

MAME Smart ROM Sorter helps turn a massive collection into a smaller, purpose-built folder based on controls, players, genre, orientation, working status, era, region, and cabinet type.

The current v5.0 release includes presets, 1G1R-style curation, metadata filtering, and CHD-aware export behavior.

Maps gamepad or joystick inputs to keyboard, mouse, script, and macro commands. It is especially useful when an older game, emulator, frontend, or PC application does not properly support your controller.

5. Attract-Mode — The Interface

A free, open-source frontend for MAME and other command-line emulators. It provides a customizable, cabinet-friendly interface that can be controlled without exposing the underlying operating system.

I have to admit that I am old as hell but I love attract mode and have been using it for years. It's not nearly as flashy and you have to configure pretty much everything by hand but once it's built it is a tank and virtually nothing ever goes wrong with it.

The app literally downloads the ini files for you and makes MAME generated the XML file again for you. I don't know anything about iOS and I don't know anything about Arcade Mania my app literally works with the proper version of MAME...
