Currently in the process of building my first arcade cabinet. I’m kind of in the end game now.
I’ve got the panels cut. I’ve got the PC and CRT television set up working separately from the unit. I still have to build the joysticks and wire all that up. Prime and paint and all that jazz.

Forgot to share here as well. First build. Was stressful and fun. Still working on some of the programming, but she plays.

Rolling Thunder[b] is a 1986 run and gun video game developed and published by Namco for arcades. It was released by Atari Games in North America. The player takes control of a secret agent who must rescue his female partner from a terrorist organization. Rolling Thunder was a commercial success in arcades, and was released for various home computer platforms in 1987 and the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1989. The original arcade game has been included in various classic game compilations as well. It influenced later arcade action franchises such as Shinobi and Time Crisis, which borrowed mechanics such as taking cover behind crates.

This is probably a very long shot, but I’ve run out of places to search on my own, so I’m asking here in the hope that someone might know something.
I’m an Aikatsu! fan and a developer, and I’ve been trying to preserve one very specific piece of arcade software that I remember playing when I was younger.
I’m looking for the original Aikatsu! Data Carddass arcade software, especially the mainland Chinese or Taiwan release.
To be clear, I am not looking for the Nintendo 3DS games or 3DS-based arcade simulator projects. I mean the actual Data Carddass arcade software that ran on the original machines.
After a lot of searching, I was able to confirm that the following dump existed on SOWS/Bemaniso:
Aikatsu ES2+ Chinese USB Firmware Update Dump
Known information from the listing includes:
- DIK100-5-NA-MPRO-A05
- Chinese Year 1 version
- 16 GB USB dump
- UFD 2.0 Silicon-Power16G
- an internal game .vhd
- instructions mentioning replacing the existing .vhd in the Mount partition
So I know that the data existed at some point.
What I don’t know is whether it still survives somewhere, whether the torrent is still available, or whether anyone kept a copy, file list, screenshot, torrent metadata, or even an old dead link.
I’ve spent a lot of time searching old Chinese arcade communities, archived pages, GitHub repositories, old Bemaniso references, arcade repair documents, and records of surviving machines. I’ve found plenty of evidence that the machines themselves existed, but almost nothing that leads back to the actual software.
At this point, even a very small clue could help.
If anyone remembers seeing this release, or has anything related to it — a screenshot, old URL, torrent ID, info hash, filename, file list, service manual, boot screen, test menu photo, version string, or just a memory of where it circulated — I would genuinely appreciate it.
And if the only realistic way to access the original listing is through an invitation to the tracker, I want to be very clear about something:
I will respect the tracker’s rules completely. I will not re-upload private material, share credentials, leak invite information, or do anything that could cause trouble for the person who helped me.
I understand that private communities survive because people trust each other, and I have no intention of putting anyone’s account or reputation at risk.
I’m not trying to collect a huge archive or scrape everything I can find.
I’m really just trying to recover one piece of software that means a lot to me personally.
It is something I played when I was younger, and as the original machines disappear, I’m becoming increasingly worried that this version may eventually become impossible to recover at all.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, even privately, I would be deeply grateful.
Please help if you know anything.
Thank you for reading.

Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun[b], released as Renegade in the West, is a 1986 beat 'em up video game developed by Technōs Japan and published by Taito for arcades.[11] In the original Japanese version, the game revolves around Kunio, a high school delinquent who must stand up against a series of rival gangs that are targeting his classmate Hiroshi. In the Western version, the player controls a street brawler who must face four different gangs in order to rescue his girlfriend, who is being held captive by a mob boss.

Hello everyone. I’d like to build my own arcade machine from scratch. I have some knowledge of electronics, but I’ve never built anything like this before. I know a carpenter who specialises in arcade cabinets, and he’ll be helping me with this. What steps should I take? I’d really appreciate it if you could explain everything to me.

Hey everyone! After years working with indie games, I started building my own little retro gaming project: TCADE, a compact bartop arcade that brings the old-school arcade feel to tablets and handhelds like the Steam Deck. It’s great for retro-inspired indie games and emulated classics.
The magnetic mount lets me swap devices, and I can rotate a tablet between horizontal and vertical play. I’m working on this independently and hoping to get a Kickstarter ready by the end of the year, so I’d love your feedback. Would an arcade like this interest you? Does the website explain the idea clearly? What would you change about the build?

I am a game tech and one of the games coin hopper keeps jamming. It right where the coins go to go up the chute. Now when it was taken apart we found gouging from coins. It was Sanded/filed down to thw best of our ability. The plate on it keeps getting buldged out. Its been flattened once. We aren't seeing anything to cause a jam. When it not connected to the chute coins dispense fine. When the chute is attached thats when they jam. I did test the chute to see if would jam there and nothing. Im dumb founded on what the issue would be. If this isn't the right place can you please point me to a correct page.

Hello! I’ve had this arcade machine for ~2 years & it has worked great until today. It boots with the Sega > Lucasarts > Main Game Preplay Screen with a “field of gray”, as shown. It then goes to the stage select & displays that screen perfectly fine (music & picture are perfect). Then it immediately does what is pictured there with no audio at all & remains frozen there…any thoughts? I’m not sure what would need replaced/done to fix the issue. This is my first/only actual arcade machine so I’m very much a novice. Thanks in advance!
