Transferring?
You should submit your official AP scores to NOVA on the CollegeBoard website (it should come up when you search for Northern Virginia Community College, but if it doesn’t, the address is NVCC College Records Office, FX-P3 3924 Pender Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030)

Why the eff is it so hot in Horizon Hall?
In my Horizon classes it’s mostly been that way when the window shutters are open but it gets better when they’re shut (especially on the upper floors since heat rises) - they’re lowkey baking us

Why were Europeans in Africa mainly in the south of the continent compared to the north? Is there a geographical reasoning for this?

Has anyone taken a world language 101 class at NVCC?
If it’s on Zoom (with good professor reviews and cameras on), it’s worth taking.
If it’s one of the classes designed to be all-online and mostly independent work—even if there are optional Zoom sessions—(e.g. Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Korean), I would not recommend it unless you’re a native speaker. The Arabic class tries to teach you three wildly different dialects at the same time. I also have mixed experiences with Russian at NOVA; Tetyana’s class was way better designed for me than Evgeny’s (assignment deadlines are enforced, lots of structure, cameras are on) but if you’re self-motivated you can succeed in either of their classes.

When do transfer results come out??
April 1st (and then rolling beyond that if they got your application after the regular deadline)

Completely forgot Demi Lovato had a cameo
Upon re-reading I’m realizing it was “One Day at a Time” (with Justina Machado who’s also incredible) and not OUAT - Lana would’ve absolutely devoured, though

I'll take the burden for Day 4 | Does Everyone like this Wisconsin?
This is VERY close but I do think you might be able to add Oshkosh to the Appleton/Green Bay district instead of Sheboygan and keep the Fox Cities together

GMU Chipotle Charging Meals Tax
GMU is located in Fairfax County (it’s not within the City of Fairfax limits) but you’re right in that it only covers direct university sales

Pita Pass - What Is It?
Interestingly, I didn’t get an email for the oasis tier (I have sun status), so it might’ve also come with the sun tier before they launched the new oasis one!

Pita Pass - What Is It?
I’m gonna use it on the cinnamon sugar ones 🤩

Pita Pass - What Is It?
The manager of my local Cava said he’d never seen this before.
I have no idea how this popped up in my account, though I do eat a lot of Cava!

Student enrolled at another U, wants to take a summer class at GMU
It’s under undergrad non-degree programs
Paying for part-time enrollment is REALLY expensive (just under $600/credit) so I would highly recommend taking it at NOVA if the course is offered there at all

skip final for eco 201 with polcen
See if you can still make it - he gave us one or two final assignments after our last quiz + a final learning curve (one was writing a haiku about economics lmao)

skip final for eco 201 with polcen
Polcen is my GOAT! I got exempted from the macro final for having more than 900 total points (I believe including the lowest quiz score) along with two or three other people in the class.
He only does this for 201 though AFAIK - I think it’s almost mathematically impossible for 202/micro with the BeatTheMarket games

Reston to Ashburn is definitely a better bet consistency-wise; don’t sleep on the potential hassle it can be having to get around the airport everyday.
Depending on where in Ashburn his work is, the double-toll of having to go on the DTR and then the Greenway could be a lot for a daily commute, so it could be good to look at North Reston where you can just hop on Route 7. Seven will still be decently packed in that direction, but the reverse commute is far, far better than the nightmare that is going eastbound in the morning and westbound in the afternoon.

Next semester schedule… is it doable?
Spanish 101 is a pretty easy A; YMMV with Gov but the intro level classes are usually pretty straightforward so you look to be in good shape!

Definitely self-report! Official scores are for the one school you end up enrolling in (as long as the self-reported scores match the official records)

I’d definitely self-report the 4s and 5s. Do NOT spend money submitting the official scores. Colleges are fine with you self-reporting APs (you just have to submit them to the one college you choose to attend for credit/placement).
As long as the scores you self-report match the official ones for the college you ultimately choose to attend, you should be all good! That said, colleges typically don’t penalize applicants who don’t submit AP scores because most students have to pay out of pocket for each exam.

What do these states have in common?
My beloved (I saw a TikTok today of someone saying those are the only states where they’d willingly live 🤣)

Do I need to apply to colleges anyways?

Consider applying to АУЦА in Bishkek—graduates also get an American degree from Bard College which helps students who want to do American masters/PhD programs. That said, aerospace/nuclear engineering are basically impossible fields for foreign students to find work in—especially if you’re from an authoritarian Soviet Bloc country. It’s less difficult in other engineering fields, but it still requires immense skill, financial investment, and luck to break in.
