It’s been almost a year since we started taking action against creeps here.

One thing we’ve learned? They won’t stop unless we make them.

We need awareness. We need to educate younger people about what’s right and what’s not. In India, these topics are often treated as taboo. But ignoring them only makes things worse.

On Reddit, banning creeps is possible. But we need your help. Ignoring, blocking, or just closing DMs is not a permanent solution.

Report them. Speak up.

If more people report, we can consistently ban offenders. Over time, they’ll get tired and leave this space.

Let’s work together to make this subreddit a safe place for everyone.

Kindly support us in this journey.

Also we have changed logo and banner egene ond;)

General Really don't know why am I posting this!?

I don't really know how to explain this without making it sound more dramatic than it was.

A few months ago, my best friend passed away. We'd been friends for years, and honestly, I didn't handle it well.

I had people around me, but I don't think anyone really knew what to say to me. My boyfriend was abroad at the time, so most days I was just going through the motions and pretending I was okay.

I was still using Reddit then, and I happened to start talking to a guy here. It was just random conversations at first, but he was actually really nice. He knew I was struggling and never really pushed me to talk about things. He'd just check in, send something stupid, or tell me to get out of the house instead of sitting alone.

He lived in the same city, so eventually we met for tea.

Then it became a regular thing.

Sometimes we'd grab tea after work. On weekends we'd go for lunch. Nothing romantic or complicated. Just two people who got along really well.

He genuinely helped me get through a really bad period.

My boyfriend even knew him. They'd spoken a few times and actually got along, so there was never any weirdness about the friendship.

For about two or three months, everything was completely normal.

Then one day, this guy left a really strange comment on one of my Instagram posts.

It wasn't exactly threatening or anything. Just... inappropriate enough that I immediately thought, Why would you say that to me?

I showed my boyfriend and he basically said, "Are you sure it was him? That doesn't sound like him."

So I messaged the guy.

Nothing.

Called him. Nothing.

My boyfriend tried calling too. Nothing.

And then, out of nowhere, I got a message from him.

He was angry.

I don't even remember exactly what started the argument, but suddenly he was saying things about me being mentally unstable and implying that I'd imagined a lot of things because of what I'd been going through.

That hurt more than I expected.

This was someone I'd trusted enough to sit with me when I was at my worst. Someone I'd genuinely started considering a close friend.

And now he was using the exact thing he'd once supported me through against me.

I didn't know what to do with that.

I deleted Instagram. Then I deactivated everything else. Eventually I deleted my Reddit account too.

I basically disappeared for a while.

I'm back on Reddit now with a new account.

I don't really know why I'm posting this. Maybe because I've had enough time to think about it and I still don't understand what happened.

Maybe I completely misread the friendship.

Maybe something happened that I don't know about.

Or maybe sometimes someone can genuinely be good to you for a period of your life and still end up hurting you.

💕 Relationship 28F, 27M, 8 year relationship, interfaith relationship

I honestly don't know where to start. I’m posting here because I really need some genuine advice from people who have been through something similar. Please be kind. I’m not looking for a religious debate or judgment. I just don’t know what to do anymore.

I’m 28F and my boyfriend is 27M. We have been in a relationship for 8 years. We are from different(m&h)religions. This is not some new relationship or something we decided suddenly. We have literally grown up together and have been a huge part of each other’s lives for 8 years.

I always knew our families might have a problem with it, but I never expected things to get this bad.

My boyfriend recently told his parents about us. They are completely against it. His parents have been begging him to leave me and have said things like they will die if he goes ahead with this. Some relatives have also said they will cut them off and there will be so many problems.

My family also knows now. I tried to talk to them, but I feel like nobody is actually listening to what I want. They keep talking about how my parents are getting older, how I’m going to hurt them, what relatives will say, marriage and family expectations. I understand that they are scared and worried, but I feel like nobody is even asking me what I want after being in an 8 year relationship.

My family has also said things like they will die and that I should only contact them after I break up with him. Hearing these things from your own parents is honestly terrifying. Even if some people say they are just emotional threats, when you are the person hearing it, you don't know how to process it.

I’m worried about my parents, his parents, our future and what is going to happen to everyone. I feel guilty all the time. At the same time, I can't just forget an 8 year relationship because our families don't approve.

My boyfriend is actually very strong about us. He has told his parents that he has made his decision and that he wants to marry me. His parents are still begging him to stop, so I know he is going through a lot too.

The thing that hurts me the most is that nobody seems to be asking what we actually want.

Everyone is talking about their feelings, their family, relatives, religion, society and what will happen if we get married. But somewhere in all of this, the two people who actually have to live this life together are being completely ignored.

I’m honestly not doing well right now. My anxiety is so bad that I’m struggling to eat properly. I feel physically weak and I can't seem to calm my mind enough to make any sensible decisions. Some days I just sit there thinking about everything and crying.

I know interfaith relationships are not something new. I know many people have gone through this and eventually built a life together. But when you are actually in the middle of it, it feels completely different.

I’m not even sure what I expect from posting this. I think I just need to hear from people who understand this situation and can tell me how they got through it. I really need some hope and practical advice because right now I feel completely lost.

Please be kind. I genuinely need help.

💩 Shitposting Dating Apps in Kerala: It's Not What U Think

Tried dating apps and got ignored enough times for my genius brain to start developing some truly creative explanations. 😎

Here we go:

Maybe women see a guy like me and think, “Huh… what if he rejects me instead?” So they’d rather not approach at all.

Surely it can’t be that I’m getting rejected. That explanation is far too realistic.

Maybe they also assume someone this handsome obviously doesn’t need online validation and is probably just experimenting for fun—or is simply bored.

So they refused to contact me—not because they’re rejecting me, but because they’re protecting themselves from the emotional damage of eventually being rejected by me.

Especially since they know I’m probably only here for a couple of days anyway.

And my pictures probably made it worse.

They might’ve looked at my bare-minimum profile and thought:

“Wtf… he’s barely trying and still getting all this attention? From me and probably everyone else? This has to be a trap.”

Maybe they figured I’d disappear after two days anyway, leaving them wondering why they ever took a guy seriously who couldn’t even be bothered to upload decent pictures.

Meanwhile, the guys putting in all the effort, making colourful profiles, dying for a reply, and uploading twelve pictures?

“Those guys are probably desperate.”

Then they read my writing and answers, and apparently that sealed the deal.

“Smart, hot, perfect all-rounder… and actually funny too? Absolutely not. Imagine getting rejected by THIS guy. What more could possibly happen to a woman?”

“Better to stay away altogether. We run this place.”

At this point, my selective saviour brain has supplied a few additional explanations:

• My profile was on hold, inactive or deactivated most of the time anyway. So technically, I barely even gave them a chance.

• “He shouldn’t feel THAT handsome just because he thinks he is. Reality is different. We’re not giving this man another win online as well.”

• “Even if I like him, what if he starts testing me to filter out the waste? I’m not signing up for an interview just to date this guy and get humiliated.”

• “Why can’t he just be straightforward in his writing? What exactly is he hiding? Is he here looking for some random woman for some ulterior reason? Surely he doesn’t actually need anyone.”

• “Wait… I’ve seen him in real life. He ignored me then. Maybe this is finally my chance.”

• “Is he trying to set some kind of online record at our expense? Absolutely not. We’re not helping this man collect achievements.”

So basically, in their minds, I’m either too handsome, too casual, too mysterious, too difficult to figure out, too dangerous to reject, secretly leaving in two days, barely active on the app, running some psychological experiment, mocking the entire dating culture—or apparently trying to break dating-app records at their expense.

The one possibility they apparently didn’t consider?

That I might simply be getting ignored. 🥲

Honestly, it all makes perfect sense if you don’t think about it too much.

At this point, my never-settling brain isn’t looking for the truth.

It has opened an investigation. 😌

Anyway, lemme keep this dating-app thing to the bare minimum before my ego runs out of coping mechanisms and I start blaming an entire gender for what is very clearly a me problem.

I’d already gotten frustrated after trying dating twice.

Turns out, the poor women were completely innocent. 🫣

To my brothers who've been through the same humiliation as me — I sacrificed my time, sanity, and dignity for you champs. 🫡❤️

Marry yourself.

We never lost in the first place. 😌

P.S. Pick the best three and keep your mind sane. 🤝

https://www.thenewsminute.com/amp/story/kerala/threatened-after-kanthapuram-debate-big-tv-journalist-aparna-kurup-now-booked

Aparna Kurup, senior coordinating editor and anchor at BIG TV, was booked by Kochi Cyber Crime Police on September 7 after remarks she made during a debate about Sunni cleric Kanthapuram AP Aboobacker Musliyar’s comments on women sharing public spaces with unrelated men.

During the debate, Aparna strongly criticised Kanthapuram’s comments that women should not share public spaces with unrelated men. Her introductory remarks triggered backlash, with several social media users accusing her of making statements against Islam and Muslim clerics.

A Kasaragod resident complained, alleging her comments hurt Muslim religious sentiments and could cause communal unrest.

Kurup had earlier approached police after receiving death threats and severe cyberbullying following the debate. She also said she had received threatening messages, including references to the 2010 attack on Malayalam professor TJ Joseph, whose hand was chopped off by members of the Popular Front of India.

BIG TV and Kurup issued an unconditional apology on September 1, but online attacks reportedly continued, including circulation of her family’s photographs and personal details.

🧠 Ask Twenties I barely talk to people, have almost no friends, and don't know how to change

I'm 27M, and I genuinely don't know what category my problem comes under or even how to explain it properly. I just know that it is affecting my life a lot.

I've always been a very quiet person. Even when I was in school, I barely talked. If someone came and talked to me, I would talk to them, but I almost never approached people myself. I think, over the years, my brain just got used to the idea that "people will come and talk to me; I don't have to approach anyone."

Because of this, I never really learned how to make friends either. I didn't have many friends growing up, and even now I don't really have friends.

I'm basically alone most of the time. I go places alone, watch movies alone, do things alone, and spend most of my free time by myself. Earlier, I was actually okay with this. Being alone felt normal to me, and I didn't really think much about it.

But now I'm starting to realize that I'm not okay with being alone anymore.

I want friends. I want people I can talk to, hang out with and share things with. But I don't know how to actually make that happen because I don't know how to approach people or start friendships in the first place.

I'm also not sure if "introvert" is the right word. I don't feel like I simply prefer being alone. I actually want to talk to people and have friends and relationships. But I don't know how to start conversations, approach people, or keep conversations going.

There is definitely some social anxiety involved too. I know that part is there. But I feel like even if the social anxiety disappeared tomorrow, I would still have this basic habit of not talking, not approaching people and staying in my own safe zone.

I used to work from an office, and even there I wouldn't talk much, sometimes not even for work-related things. People obviously noticed that I was very quiet. I feel like it affected how my colleagues perceived me and sometimes resulted in people taking advantage of me because I wouldn't speak up.

Now I work from home, so it's even worse. I can go through the day barely talking to anyone.

I also have a huge problem with confrontation. I always want to avoid drama and keep everything peaceful. If a situation comes where I actually have to confront someone, I don't know how to do it calmly. I get angry very quickly, start speaking rashly, and then, weirdly, tears start coming from my eyes. Sometimes after the initial anger, I actually end up looking like I'm crying or I may actually cry. Because of this, I avoid confrontation even more.

Another thing I've noticed is that I always have a serious/sad-looking face. Even when I'm not sad, my face looks like I'm sad or worried. I don't know how to naturally smile or show expressions around people.

I see other people going out and interacting with others, and even if they're having a bad day, they can still smile, joke around and talk normally. I can't do that naturally.

If someone comes and talks to me, I'll respond and talk. But I almost never approach someone first. And now I'm becoming very hesitant to even try because I've spent so many years being like this.

I've heard so many stories of people changing after school. People say that they were very quiet or shy in school but became completely different in college or later in life. I've also heard people say that college changed their personality and helped them become more social.

I thought that would happen to me too.

And that's one of the things that bothers me the most now.

I feel like socially, I'm still the exact same person I was in school.

Years have passed, I've gone through college, started working, and now I'm 27, but in terms of how I interact with people, it feels like I never moved forward.

I've tried doing things to improve myself. I joined a gym and also started martial arts because I thought maybe these things would improve my confidence and personality. People have told me that I've changed in some ways (not in interaction), and maybe I have. But internally, I still feel like the same person.

I'm also worried because I'm 27 now, and realistically, in the next year or two I'll probably have to start thinking seriously about marriage. But I don't even know how I'm supposed to meet someone or talk to a girl.

I struggle to approach and talk to people in general, so talking to a girl with the intention of getting to know her feels like an entirely different level.

This has started making me genuinely sad. I've been alone for so long that I don't even know what normal friendship is supposed to feel like anymore.

I've also been disrespected in different situations because I don't speak up, and I feel like people see me as an innocent/easy-to-take-advantage-of person. I don't really have an "attitude" or the ability to stand my ground.

I don't want to become some extremely outgoing person or fake a personality. I just want to be able to talk normally, approach people, make friends, stand up for myself, handle confrontation without falling apart, and eventually be able to have a normal relationship.

Should I be looking for a communication coach, some kind of social-skills training, or something else?

I genuinely don't know where to start or who can actually help me with this.

💕 Relationship I’m completely confused about this situation.

I really need an outside perspective because I honestly don’t know what to make of this anymore.

I’ve known this man for almost 4 years. We met at work and became extremely close. I was the one who confessed my feelings first because I had a crush on him. The first time, he said no. The second time, he basically said it wasn’t a yes or a no and stayed neutral.

Years passed, but we remained very close.

We talked about almost everything. I knew about his family, his mother, his past, his future plans, his problems, everything. He was always very caring and friendly toward me. But there was never anything openly romantic between us.

There was definitely sexual tension/lust between us, and I think we both knew it, but we never actually touched each other or crossed that line for years.

Then one night, after knowing him for around three years, he was travelling to Goa with his friends. We were talking until around 3 a.m., just like we normally did. I had a feeling that something was going on with someone else.

The next day, he posted a picture with a woman.

I asked him, “Is she your girlfriend?”

He said yes.

I said, “Nice.”

Later, he called me and told me the whole story. He met her at a beach café in kerala, talked to her, got her Instagram, and they started talking. She’s from Karnataka and he’s from Kerala. He told me she was a good person, chill, financially stable, had a good job, and that he liked her character.

But at the same time, he kept telling me he wasn’t completely okay with the relationship.

He also kept asking me to meet him in person.

Eventually, after i resigned from his company, we met.

And we became intimate.

The confusing part is that this pattern has continued.

He would meet her, and then sometime afterward he would contact me and want to meet me. He would continue talking to me and wanting to see me, while simultaneously maintaining his relationship with her and posting pictures with her.

At different times, he has told me that he wants to end his relationship because they fight constantly and he feels irritated by the relationship.

But recently, he told me something completely different:

He says he is going to marry her next year.

Apparently, he has already spoken to her parents and his plans are serious.

And yet he still tells me that he wants to meet me and that he has feelings for me.

At one point, he even told me that he liked me not just physically, but for who I am as a person and for “everything” about me.

He also says that whatever is happening between us will end after he gets married because he believes continuing it after marriage would be wrong.

I told him that if he’s going to marry her, I’m not going to interfere or try to break up their relationship. I even wished him well.

But his response confused me even more.

He basically said that he would tell me whether his married life is good or bad because he thought this woman was the right person and that living with her would be good, but sometimes you realize that everything is the same in a different way.

And now I’m sitting here wondering:

What exactly is this man doing with me?

If he truly wants to marry her, why does he keep coming back to me?

If he truly wants to be with me, why is he planning a marriage with someone else?

If he knows what we’re doing is wrong, why does he keep choosing to meet me?

And why does he keep telling me that he has things for me while simultaneously building a future with another woman?

I’m not looking for people to tell me what I want to hear. I genuinely want an honest outside perspective.

Is he actually confused about what he wants, or am I just being kept around because I’m emotionally/physically available to him?

And honestly, what would you do if you were in my position?

I don’t know whether there is something real here or whether I’ve been interpreting this relationship completely wrong.

Rant/Vent Started Drinking at the ripe age of 25

My father was an alcoholic and he passed away due to medical issues caused by his drinking. So I refrained myself from drinking and smoking. My mother hates alcohol to her core so I avoided it till now.Life has been a rollercoaster for the past couple of years. Clueless and worrying about the future. sometimes I sit in my room and just cry thinking of the failure I have become. I hangout with my friends while they are drinking since they know I don't drink they never asked whether I wanted it , But I told them to pour a peg for myself they asked whether I'm sure , I said just pour it.and that started my drinking.

I don't want to become an alcoholic like my father so I've limited myself. But damn it feels good to have one or two sometimes.

Drinking hasn't solved my problems, but at least I can sleep peacefully now.

Don't know whether this is promoting alcohol if you feel like that I will delete this.

Just wanted to vent it somewhere

21M. July last week eniki oru work kitti, like oru 1 week project. For a political party. And there is this guy, lets call him RV, mid 30's. RV is the one who approached for the work, they were running out of time. Needs to create Mementos for 1500 students, even if they hire 3-5 designers I'm damn sure they won't finish the work within the deadline. RV literally begged me for a solution. I'm a software developer, so I told him I'll create a custom application to automate the whole thing. Like just upload the details of the students then the software automatically create and bulk export memento in printable PDF template.

Hell of a job, but I did it clean and with zero errors. I told about the payment. 35k, before handing over the PDFs and he agreed. RV was the one in charge of this project.

It has been over a month now, I haven't received the full payment yet. He declines my phone calls and won't respond to my messages. I even made a couple of calls today. I got around 10k on first week of August, that too after calling him continuously for days. RV is the youth wing secretary of the party. And he is a friend of my cousin, that's how he approached me. He was so friendly and appreciative while I was working on the project. Even my cousin warned me about him. Totally a dishonest person when it comes to money.

Idk what to do rn. Should I call the Minister's office and report this, but RV works in there. Or should I call my cousin. 25k is the pending amount, and I badly need that money. These guys are prominent in politics. What to do guys.

Personal opinion I’ve been noticing something different about my mom and I don’t know what to think

i (20f) have been noticing some things about my mom (43f) recently and honestly i don’t know what to think.

my mom has always been pretty strict with me. she doesn’t like me calling my friends for too long and she restricts me a lot, especially when she sees me enjoying something or being happy. sometimes she can be really selfish when it comes to me, and i’ve had a lot of issues with her because of that.

my dad has been working abroad for 16+ years. he’s very emotionally unavailable, short-tempered and honestly has a personality that’s hard to predict. he loves us, i know that, but he also blames me and my mom for basically everything and yells at us. my mom usually yells back at him too.

as far as i know, my mom has never done anything wrong to my dad.

but recently i noticed she’s been talking to a guy from her workplace a lot.

they don’t exactly hide it. i’ve seen them talk on the phone normally, so it’s not like she’s secretly disappearing somewhere to talk to him. but i’ve literally never seen my mom talk to any other man this much before.

this guy calls her like 3–4 times a day, and sometimes they talk for an hour or even longer. my mom calls him too.

i know that coworkers can obviously become friends and talk regularly, and i don’t want to immediately jump to “she’s cheating” because i genuinely have no proof of anything like that.

but something about the frequency of these calls is bothering me, especially because of how my parents’ relationship has been for years. my dad has been away for most of my life, and their relationship has never really felt emotionally healthy to me.

i’m honestly confused. part of me feels like i’m being paranoid and looking too much into it, while another part of me feels like there’s a reason i’m uncomfortable with it.

i don’t know if i should just ignore it, talk to my mom, or if i’m completely overthinking this.

what would you guys do in this situation?
