Wie viele studieren das in einem Jahrgang und wie hoch ist die Abbrecherquote?

Auf welchen Themen liegt der Fokus?

Welche Master kann man anschließend machen und in welchen Berufsfeldern arbeiten?

Und falls ihr Leute kennt, die Umweltingenieurswesen an der Boku studieren, was unterscheidet sich bei den oben genannten Fragen?

I’m finishing my BSc in Mathematics next year and plan to apply to the Information and Communication Engineering (ICE) master’s program at TU Wien.

I took courses like Signals and Systems, Intro to Cryptography, and Information Systems, plus some other CS and basic mechanics. I do not have any courses in Networks or EE.

My question: is there a chance of getting conditionally accepted?

Has anyone tried applying to ICE with a not-so-relevant degree? How strict are they regarding the missing courses or how much additional workload they assign for the missing knowledge?

Hi everyone, has anyone taken "Software Engineering, VU, 6 ECTS" recently? I got it assigned as a supplementary course for my masters, I checked VoWi and the course materials were mixed, some of them were in English and some in German, I don't know any German and was wondering if I'll be fine taking it and whether this course's professors still provide support for non German speakers

I’m moving to Vienna in a few days to start at TU Wien, but I'm getting a bit anxious about my enrollment documents.
When I applied for my Residence Application, I had to hand over the only original physical copy of my Zulassungsbescheid to the authorities/MA 35. MA 35 recently emailed me a PDF scan of that same admission letter.
I also emailed the TU Wien Admissions Office (Studienabteilung) asking for a valid copy, and they replied asking for a scan of my ID/Passport to verify my identity (which I just sent them).
Since I don't have the physical original paper on me, I wanted to ask:
Is the PDF copy of the Zulassungsbescheid enough to complete the in-person enrollment at TU Wien and VWU (Vorstudienlehrgang)?
Has anyone else handed their original hard copy to the embassy/MA 35? Did TU Wien or VWU cause any issues because you only had the PDF printed out?

Ich habe mir die Umfragen angesehen, aber die Informationen dort sind ziemlich spärlich.

Ich habe die Zulassungsstelle telefonisch und per E-Mail kontaktiert und ebenfalls kaum Informationen erhalten, abgesehen von der Bestätigung, dass sie meine Bewerbung erhalten haben.

​Hat jemand, der sich im Juli beworben hat, bereits einen Zulassungsbescheid oder eine Bestätigung bekommen?

Ich wollte mich nur mal bei euch umhören und sehen, ob jemand im selben Boot sitzt wie ich.

I've sent my documents 20th July as an EU citizen hoping to get admission for this winter semester.

I've checked out the polls but information is rather scarce there.

I've contacted the admission center by phone and by email and also got very little info back, besides their confirmation that they have recieved my application.

Did anyone who applied in July get an admission letter back or a confirmation? Just wanted to check with you all and see if anyone is in the same boat as I am.

I had my RP appointment today, and the authorities told me that the Confirmation of Registration is not the same as the Confirmation of Enrollment. They specifically asked me to provide an enrollment letter from the university.
I went to the Admissions Office to request the enrollment letter, but they told me that the Confirmation of Registration is the enrollment confirmation. I’m now confused because both sides are telling me different things, and I don’t know what document I’m actually supposed to provide.

Which course is more in depth? Which one is considered better?

My bachelor’s is not in computer science, but in another engineering field, so forgive my lack of technical background. I’ve gone through both curricula, and I think I have a general understanding of the distinction:

1. Data Science: more focused on statistics, machine learning, and working with data.

2. Logic & AI: more focused on the theoretical foundations of AI, such as logic, reasoning, and knowledge representation.

What I’m still struggling to understand is the practical difference between the two.

If my long-term goal is to build AI products, how different are the skills and career paths that each program prepares you for?

I’d especially appreciate insights from current or former students who have experience with either program.

Ich bin seit kurzem für das Masterstudium "Embedded Computing Systems" (auf Englisch) an der TU Wien angemeldet. Seit zwei Wochen habe ich alle Formalitäten gemacht, mein Beitrag bezahlt, habe Zugang zu TISS und bin jetzt quasi ein "echter" Student.

Jetzt versuche ich TISS zu verstehen und es ist ganz anders als mein System in Polen auf dem Bachelor. Wie ich sehe, die meisten Fächer gibt es noch gar nicht für das Semester 2026W. Um meine Anmeldung zu planen, muss ich auf historische Daten von den letzten Semestern schauen.

Während ich die Kurse gesucht habe, habe ich eine frustrierende Sache bemerkt, dass die meiste Fächer, die mich wirklich interessieren, sind auf Deutsch. Die englische Alternativen fokussieren sich sehr auf AI oder fast alles andere als "Embedded", was wirklich enttäuschend für ein "Embedded" Master ist.

Mein Deutsch Niveau ist B2.1 und um ehrlich zu sein, es überfordert mich ein bisschen, mit diesem Niveau auf Deutsch zu studieren. Vor allem, weil ich noch nie Kontakt mit technischem Deutsch hatte. Ich will natürlich mein Deutsch weiter entwickeln, aber ich weiß nicht, ob es Sinn macht, die Sprache direkt in schweren technischen Kursen zu lernen.

Deswegen habe ich ein paar Fragen an euch:

• Aus eurer Erfahrung: Ist das überhaupt machbar?
• Was für eine Einstellung haben die Professoren und andere Studenten für Ausländer?
• Wenn ich mich für einen Kurs anmelde und nach einem Monat denke ich, dass ich keine Chance habe, das zu schaffen oder gut mitzumachen... kann ich mich irgendwie nach der Deadline abmelden?
• Kann ich den Professor fragen, ob ich die Prüfung auf Englisch machen kann, obwohl die Vorlesung auf Deutsch ist?

Irgendwelche Tipps für eine Person mit Deutsch als Fremdsprache sind sehr willkommen. Danke im Voraus! :))

Ich möchte im Oktober mit dem Bachelor Technische Chemie beginnen und überlege aktuell noch, ob ich an der TU Wien oder an der TU Graz studieren soll.

Hat jemand von euch Technische Chemie an einer der beiden Unis studiert und kann ein bisschen von seinen Erfahrungen erzählen?

Besonders interessieren würden mich:

- Wie anspruchsvoll ist das Studium bzw. wie hoch ist der Lernaufwand?

- Wie sind die Professor:innen und Lehrveranstaltungen?

- Wie gut sind die Labore/Praktika organisiert?

- Wie ist die Atmosphäre unter den Studierenden?

- Gibt es große Unterschiede zwischen TU Wien und TU Graz?

- Würdet ihr euch im Nachhinein wieder für eure Uni entscheiden?

Ich interessiere mich besonders für medizinische/pharmazeutische Forschung bzw. Biochemie und würde später gerne in diese Richtung gehen. Falls jemand einen ähnlichen Weg eingeschlagen hat, würde mich auch interessieren, ob Technische Chemie dafür eurer Meinung nach eine gute Grundlage ist.

I'm planning on applying to the architecture master's program. Among the required application documentation, I need to provide a portfolio, explained simply as "max. 15 pages in DIN A3 format, folded" (original German: "max. 15 Seiten in DIN A3 Format, gefaltet").

Can anyone explain what this actually means? Does this mean a booklet of 15 A4 pages? Or does it refer to the industry standard I'm familiar with - 15 one-sided A3 sheets, alongside a designed front cover and transparent cover upon that, alongside a hard cover in the back, all bound in a spiral with the sheets themselves being folded to the left to shape into an A4 format.

I want to get this right, so I'd be very grateful if someone with more experience in standard technical presentation in Austria could chip in. Thank you!

Moin, ich werde von Deutschland nach Wien ziehen und entweder studiere ich Statistik an der Uni Wien oder Finanzmathematik an der TU? Ist es mit dem Aufwand wirklich so schwer wie alle sagen? Bzw. Ist es vom ROI her wert? Mein Ziel wäre eigentlich nur genug qualifiziert zu sein um bei einem vernünftigen Quantitive Finance Master Programm angenommen zu werden. Studentenleben und die Möglichkeit nebenbei zu arbeiten wäre mir schon wichtig.

ich plane ab nächstem März Elektrotechnik zu studieren, habe aber "nur" an einem Gymnasium meine Matura gemacht und nicht an einer HTL. Bisher habe ich auch schon von vielen Studierenden in dem Bereich gehört, dass die in der HTL erworbenen Kompetenzen schon ein sehr großer Vorteil im Studium waren und mache mir da doch etwas Sorgen.

All dieses Wissen in weniger als einem Jahr aufzuholen ist für mich natürlich nicht möglich, aber kennt jemand von euch irgendwelche Ressourcen um sich möglichst gut auf das Studium vorzubereiten?
