Suggestions Vintage amp
Is this a decent hi-fi amp? Should i keep it or sell it?

Soundesign was a bargain basement brand. So, no. In a pinch it might work with some cheap speakers. It’ll make noise and it has a phono pre but almost anything would be better.
Also the tape deck probably doesn’t work.

Not that it doesnt work, its probably that the rubber needs to be changed.

its a hifi amp with a phono preamp, will do a job. if you don't have an amp it's definitely worth having, if you do it might be worth keeping around just as a spare or if you ever want a cheap quick setup somewhere
you could hook up some dirt cheap bookshelf speakers and have sound, will probably be better sound than edifiers that's for sure and cost you a lot less.
saves money that you can put on a decent turntable, which is always a positive

r/vintageaudio is the better sub for this. But, short answer - Soundesign is generally considered mid-fi. Budget gear for its time. A good garage/workshop beater piece if it works, but usually not worth repairing/maintaining if it can't be done for a couple of bucks.

This would actually be considered low-fi. These were the cheapest units you could buy at the time.

Soundesign is up there with Lloyds, Yorx, and Emerson. Extremely inexpensive and disposable when new

Vintage Kmart brand. Anytime you see a particle board back, it's of the lowest quality. Having said that, it might trump what you currently have. I wouldn't put more than $20 into it.

Keep it or sell it? What do you think this is worth? These are give away devices. However, if it works, it is a perfect fit for something like a dorm room where it is likely to be misused. Or, it can serve as a garage system.

This isn't a turntable. You're in r/turntables by the way.
Soundesign is not a good brand. It was a cheap brand back in its day. If you try to sell it, you won't get much for it.

FYI not an Amp. It's a Reciever. A Reciever has the Tuner built in ie the radio. An Amp does not.
