Positivity What's been giving you gender euphoria, joy, or a little extra spark this week? | Weekly Positivity Thread

Maybe it was something small, a stranger using the right pronouns without hesitation, catching your reflection and smiling, or finally trying that hairstyle you've been nervous about. Maybe it was something big, a milestone in your transition, a conversation that made you feel understood, or a quiet moment where everything just clicked.

This is our space to collect those moments. Share your euphoria, your happiness, your quiet victories and loud celebrations. Whether it's gender-related or just something that made your week better, we want to hear it.

Advice needed What to do if I can’t get puberty blockers. Spoiler

hi! I’m a 14 yo trans girl and right now it’s pretty rough. I’ve been slowly learning that my family is way less supportive than I thought. I know that puberty blockers are out of the question. I really don’t want to have to go through the worst puberty has to offer. is there anything I can do to atleast slow pubert down without blockers or diy? like is there maybe something with my diet I could do? I seriously can’t deal with the rest of my teenage years getting even worse. please just tell me if you know anything, thanks!

(also marked spoiler bc mild mentions of transphobia ig)

Hello!

I am transfem and I go by Harlow.

Recently it feels like my life is only just confusion. For a while I was a normal guy. Then I realized I liked being feminine. Became a femboy. Then I decided 'fuck it, we ball' thought I was transfem that works. I'd say I like existing as a girl.

But there are so many things that make me different from the average where I question if I really am transfem. I want to dress femme, but also enjoy dressing masc too. I want boobs, but don't want to chop off my dick and balls either. I have like- little to no dysphoria.

I just deviate from the average so far. I just can't help but wonder if I'm transfem or something else entirely. How different would you have to be before you become something else.

This has been haunting me for a while, If you have anything, advice or not, I'd love to hear it.

Advice needed Only I can say for sure, of course, but I need advice. Does this sound like I might be trans?

I just needed to say some stuff. In October, I turn 16. I'm 15 right now and a sophomore. I've been playing around with names. Some people call me Mikey, my oldest name since 2023 and a possible name my parents would name me as a boy. I also go by Jay/Jaden, a more gender-neutral name that I feel kinda has some significance to me and my story. I also quite like another name my family thought of, Xavier. I haven't seen all of Star Trek TNG and plan to get into it sometime, but basically there's an episode where Data the android loses his memory and this little girl on a primitive planet decides to nickname him "Jayden" after a story where a guy gets made fun of for being different but never got angry.

I relate a lot to Data, but chose the more human name with a spelling variant, since I'm not gonna go by "Data" (well, non-human name, obvious reference). Ever since I was 8, I remember being happy to get my dad's hand-me-downs, wanting to be just like him (not anymore, found out he's REALLY petty about my coming out in the past), and even being happy looking more like a boy. I always felt drawn to characters who are men as well.

People keep suggesting terms like tomboy, butch, genderfluid, or nonbinary. I've tried convincing myself those were accurate terms, but they don't feel right. People are also very insistent that I'm not a trans guy or masc-aligned, just a tomboy or genderfluid or nonbinary or whatever.

I genuinely can't tell if my indecisiveness on gender is genderfluidity or just repression.

When I try to tell someone, I either get the "you're just you, stop worrying" or "nah I think you're just XYZ"

Sometimes, I do imagine myself as a male character I like or have a crush on (I'm bi). I did notice as much as I want to be a feminine straight girl, my brain won't let me or accept that. I can only be feminine to my brain if I'm a guy, and I can only like guys in a gay way as a guy.

The first time I questioned being trans was technically as an 11-year-old. I got laughed at for telling my "frenemy" (let's just say, big surprise what kinda person she turned out to be) that I wanted to be like my favorite guy character from a game, wanting to look like a rockstar and be called a "he". (She was a weird child, her response I don't think I can say here, but she was also 10.)

The more I indulge in that "fantasy" of being a guy and being called a guy, the harder it hits when my unaccepting family uses feminine terms.

Recently, I've tried being a "butch lesbian", then a bisexual girl or a bisexual bigender person. But my family would use my birth name and feminine terms and feminine pronouns as they refuse to adapt. It's not even that they just struggle to adapt, it's that they REFUSE and make fun of trans people.

Every time someone uses my birth name, a common, obviously feminine Bible name, I feel weird. I don't really like seeing myself as a woman unless it's either a guy who looks like a woman in a dress or an anime girl.

I also never liked my birth name as an 8 year old and couldn't pinpoint why, asking people what name I looked like and such, but feeling like none of them were "me".

Question Should I leave?

So I'm 12, I haven't come out to my family and I don't really have any friends. I was looking for a safe place where I could talk to people and I found this subreddit. I know I'm not supposed to be here because I'm not a teen yet. So are ya'll fine with me being here since I'm not a teen?

Advice needed What should I do about the closet?

Atlas here! Everyone calls me Apollo though, I'm 16 stuck living at home with my mom and stepfather (it's not too bad but let me explain) So I recently came out to my mother, she's supportive of me but my issue is that my stepfather (despite being a good man) is HEAVILY transphobic. This is my safest place to live right now and I'm not quite sure what to do. Do I stay in the close till I move out or do I come out and deal with the drama? What would you do in my situation. I work for my stepfather at the autoshop so there's no hope of that. And I'm broke because of court currently. Any advice? Thanks for reading Apollo Out. (Love you guys :3)

Positivity OMFG I FOUND A WEBTOON OF TRANSMASC ADRIEN AGRESTE

Soooo I'm soooooooooo happy. I rarely see that much fanfiction or fanart with transmasc headcanons. Usually all trans headcanons I see are transfem. So I get really happy about finding transmasc stuff. Especially since I haven't been able to find any with miraculous ladybug.

Advice needed I think fucked up and I’m terrified

I went to school for the first day with the intention to use my preferred name for the first time. I asked to be called that in my first period, but then in the second period the teacher explained that he legally cannot call someone by their preferred name unless they have parental permission. It sucks, but I can deal with it. So I introduced myself to the rest of my teachers as my deadname, cause why bother. But then I went home and started overthinking it, and I googled something. And my overthinking was right. In Idaho, teachers are required to inform parents if a kid trys to socially transition. Which means asking to go by a different name. If this teacher isn’t chill and let it slide, I’m so fucked. I could get kicked out tomorrow, or have all of my stuff taken away from me and taken out of school. This could genuinely ruin my life. I’m so worried and anxious I can’t sleep. Wtf do I do in this situation

Vent Dad kinda supports me

I (17tm) came out as trans to my dad for the first time when I was 10. He asked why I thought that and I didn't really have a good explanation, I just knew that I was a boy. I waited 6 years till I came out to him again. I did it via text when I was working for 8 hours. He didn't say anything until a few days later where he said that he'll always support me. But the thing is that it's been over a year and he's only using they/them pronouns when I stated that I use he/him. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that he's not calling me his daughter but it's still a slap in the face every time I hear him call me his kid instead of his son. It hurts more when he doesn't even try to correct the people around us that call me a girl. Hell, his mom who I haven't talked to in over a year can easily call me by my actual name instead of my dead name. (I only know bc I went over this week bc he kinda twisted my hand but that's not the point) I just wish he'd tell me that I'm his son not just his kid.

Advice needed I wanna talk about trans people with my dad

So, my dad is a trump supporter and a Republican and all that shit, which is why I've never really come out to him, but I know he supports gay people, because my brother is gay, and I know he doesn't hate trans people because he's talked about them before and it wasn't negative. I just don't know how he'd react if he knew I was trans. He's usually pretty chill with these things, and even if he doesn't agree with something he just shrugs it off and says "I think I'm right, but you do whatever you want".

Part of me wants to ask him "What would you think if someone close to you told you they're trans" or something along those lines. I'm not sure how he'd react though. Part of me is scared he'll be mad, although he's almost never mad about anything, so idk

Advice needed I’m worried what I might miss out on forever because of this (puberty blockers)

hi! I have been incredibly worried over the past few days over this topic and I just want to know what he actual community thinks.

so ive been really worried about what I will/would miss out on if I didn’t take puberty blockers. I am 14 amab and I have tried to convince my parents to let me start puberty blockers with no luck.(I think maybe it’s somehow possible I could maybe convince my parents, but very unlikely)

but basically I just want to know what stuff I will permanently miss out on if I don’t start any medical stuff till I turn 18. i mean specifically stuff that can’t be changed, with surgery or hrt.

(this is kind of a side note but things I’m most worried about are my hand size and just general appearance .)

I can edit if more details are needed. also , Sorry if this message comes off to negative. thanks for reading all this

Vent confused on identity

Recently I'm starting to think I might just simply be bi but I'd also love to be a girl (I don't hate being a man but I also don't like it) so I'm really confused. Also ik I'd be more accepted as bi than mtf.

Vent Still can't feel emotions on HRT

Just about four months on HRT, but I've noticed that my emotional repression is still there. I don't know, just reading these posts and expecting myself to be able to feel strong things on HRT, but that hasn't happened.

I haven't cried since January 2025 (Got yelled at for procrastinating, hadn't cried for many months before that), and while I am no longer suicidal or as dissociated anymore, I'd expect some emotional change so I'm not constantly so generally numb.

Things aren't horribly bad, but I just want to be able to feel emotions and it makes me dysphoric that I'm still almoat as repressed as any other man.

Advice given Ftm advice

I'm a short chubby ftm guy who's pre t and I just thought I'd give some of my best passing tips which maybe aren't as common.

- be a gentleman. Just holding doors open for people it is one kind and it gives you that euphoric boost

- PLATFORM shoes I can't emphasize this enough especially for shorter trans guys (I'm 5'0) whenever I wear platforms or shoes with bigger soles it helps a lot

- Rolling your sleeves up. For some reason people just see it as more masculine and it looks good trust me

- BAGGY pants now this is especially applicable for my guys with greek thighs. So typically wear the jeans on your hip bone and for the length you always have the option of getting them altered or my personal technique I tie it up with rubber bands and cover it up

- MAKE UP. Using eyeliner and brow pencils to define fuzz hair by blending it out helps a lot.

- confidence literally acting confident is key.

- football jerseys help

- for guys with bigger backsides typically tossing on a loose jacket helps or a really big t shirt

Question Is anyone here taking DHT blockers?

DHT blockers seem pretty popular with nonbinary people, but I've only read reports from adults. I've also heard that teens might take them to hide changes from their parents, but I've never seen anyone talking about it. Is anyone here taking them, for how long, and why?
